What is this tomfoolery?! A build before a video! *le gasp* I always tend to come in to the wire on these challenges, but I'm so excited to share this month's Build-n-Share Challenge with you all (yes, the speed build will be coming soon!). The full brief can be found here. The mini brief is below:

    Requirements:
    - 20 x 30 lot anywhere
    - 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms residence
    - Usual kitchen, dining and living areas and anything else you want to put in
    - Fully landscaped
    - Theme: August (in your description, please explain how the theme influenced your design)
    - Budget: §83,117

Leaves falling from trees, Thanksgiving, family gatherings, football season, scarves, rain, hot chocolate with marshmallows, warmth, AUTUMN. Towards the end of August, I begin to see my favorite season appearing and it gives me major feels. There's nothing I love more than being curled up with a book in front of a fireplace, listening to the rain fall outside. It's very comforting to me. August is my Autumn so I wanted to build a home that represented the comfort, coziness, and warmth of my most wonderful time of the year. To me, there's nothing more homey looking than a Craftsman family home.

I present to you: The Artisan

The Artisan is very nice home! :) Very nice exterior design of the home! The texture of the exterior walls and the type and placement of the windows looks very nice. Very nice outdoors areas! The greenery covered art and outdoors living area looks very nice! Sims will enjoy sitting resting on the sofa there or enjoy painting on the easel in the outdoors air. Nice outdoors dining area for sims to enjoy cooking meals on the BBQ and dining at the umbrella covered table. Kids will have fun riding the spring riders. Very nice furnishing of the interior of the home! The open plan layout of the living areas looks very nice. Very nice Autumnal colours that you have used in the build! They give a special look and feel to the rooms. Very nice living room ! Sims will enjoy sitting resting in front of the fire on the sofa, armchair or rocking chair watching tv, and the plant on the table and plants in the corner nook are a nice touch of green and nature for them to see there. The sunflowers are a sunny touch. Very nice light filled study! The bookcases look great placed either sides of the windows. Sims will enjoy sitting at the desk or on the armchairs reading a book with sunlight coming in onto them. They will have fun playing chess in the room. Very nice design and layout of the kitchen! Very nice calming blue and white colour scheme! The white cabinets and counters used and the placement of them looks very nice! Nice white curtaining of the kitchen windows, Very nice windows dining table area! Sims will enjoy looking out through the windows at the weather whilst eating a meal. The plants are nice touches on the windows ledge, and are such nice touches throughout the home! They look very nice! Very nice furnishing of the upstairs bedrooms! The fireplace armchairs sitting nook in the master suite looks very nice. The pictures and wall decor are nice touches on the single bed and teen bedroom walls. The notice board in the teen bedroom looks great!
It is a very nice Autumn themed home! :)

That's so good @creativemetaphor - I'm always afraid that pictures and a video might be a little redundant, but I'm glad that you enjoyed it!

Your makeover of Octavia is very nice! :) The hairstyle that you have chosen for her suits her. It is a nice touch that you have incorporated her favourite colour which is blue, into each of her outfits. Her outfits look very nice for each of the categories!

@aricarai Sorry for the late reply, I keep forgetting to check the forums for replies and then I was on holiday for most of August. My video link is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=96O1nMrMFW0 :) I hope you enjoy watchign it.
My YouTube channel and Twitter account have recently undergone a name change and are now Tamz Playz, for everything else I am still My Inner Sim.

Hey, I'm thinking of doing a quick tutorial for making my castle using friezes for cheap walls, wondering what screen capture program you use and whether it's free, and if not if you know a good free one to recommend?

Hello :) I am sorry but when I click on the Autumn create a sim video, it links back to this forum thread.
I was able to get the YouTube link for the video from the address though.
Orla Russet is a very nice Autumn themed witch! :) Her hairstyle looks very nice. It was nice learning the meaning of her name. It suits the season well!
I hope that you get over your jet lag and tiredness from travelling very soon <3
