Game won't load

Hi! Every time I try to load sims 3 this comes up:

Any idea on how to fix this? Thanks in advance

To clarify that image comes up, it says a serious error has occurred while loading, said game, please restart the application

The usual cause for that is that there is a file or folder locked open or in use that the game needs to access while starting up. Having parts of the TS3 game folder (in Documents) open in Windows Explorer at the time of startup can do it. Here are some other causes and suggested solutions:
