Weird freezing Sims 1 windows 10

So, yesterday I installed the sims 1 because 2, 3 and 4 is just not cutting it for me, I wanted something fresh and I hadn't played The Sims 1 in about a year. Well, I did everything I could, patched it with a fixed exe, put it in compatibility mode, and it does work, sorta... I'm having issues because the game keeps freezing maybe 10 minutes into playing, and then I have to force close it via task manager. Has anyone had this problem and found a fix? hoping someone can help me out.
