Ok, thanks for your answer. :)

I thought there was a second hotfix out and I could swear I had downloaded it. But, found only the one on the website. I must have been dreaming.

Latest public MCCC version is 2023.1.3 including the hotfix no. 3.
For Patreons there is the second preview of 2023.2.0.

Thank you, that's the one I have. I thought 2023.2.0 was out but I found the 2023.1.3 in my game. But the link you provided to the earlier page was what I remembered seeing. Thanks for clearing that up for me I thought I was losing my mind. LOL

I recently started playing again after not playing for at least a year. When using Risky Woohoo, does that add a new "Risky Woohoo" option to the romantic interactions section, in addition to the regular "Woohoo" and "Try for Baby" or is it still just the original "Woohoo" option? I thought I remembered risky woohoo being a separate interaction in the romance category, but I don't see it anymore.

Please come over to our MCCC Discord server. We're trying to avoid a discussion here about that MCCC module due to the teen rating of this forum.

Hey. I'm trying to make sims generate with certain hair styles and I white listed them in 8 colors. I added the B.F.YA,*,All in the config but sims still wear all hairs. It worked with clothes though. I also tried to add B.F.YA,*,2,All but it still didn't work. Do hair function differently? Thanks

    Yes, that's right. :)

I have to add here, that sometimes it does become necessary to reset that file, depending on just how old it is. Just keep that in mind. For the most part, however, settings are saved when said file is transferred.

That's weird. I've been playing with the same config file since I first downloaded MCCC back in 2016 and it's never been necessary to reset it.

As long as you don't try to edit that file manually there is no need to reset/replace/delete it. If new features are added with a new MCCC version, your existing mc_settings.cfg file will be automatically updated. There is no need for any action.

But as I said before: NEVER open it in an editor and try to change the values manually!
All changes must be made through the MCCC menus found on a computer/sim/mailbox.

If you think there is a need for a MCCC reset to default values use the following command from a sim's MCCC menu:
Sim:MCCC > Reset Settings > Reset ALL Settings

You might also rename your existing cfg file into something like mc_settings.cfg.old to have a future reference or fallback option. After renaming the cfg file the mod automatically creates a new cfg file with all the default settings during game launch.

Oh, I never try to edit a thing. I am horribly inept when it comes to things technical. I just have noticed that some of the features I had enabled with the prior version of MCCC were suddenly changed. For instance, I discovered my Sims were again, subject to emotional deaths. This scared me as my favorite Sim had gone hysterical as a YA (no longer protected by his Teen status) and something inside me had me check my settings. Indeed, emotional deaths were reset to happen. I immediately turned it off, of course, and I held my breath wondering if I had acted in time. Not to be a Debbie-Downer, but if it can happen to one person, can it not happen to others, too? I have no idea of why this happened to me, but I can say that every so many updated versions, I have to reset the cfg, too. Despite having dragged the older on into the new version.

I tried to edit the life span for my YA sims, but couldn't. It's currently set at 40 days, and I wanted to set it for EA's default for the long lifespan, which is 88, but even after restarting, it didn't work. I tried setting it by selecting "default" and when that didn't work, I just put 88, but that didn't work either. My sims still say they have the same amount of days left as they did before I tried to change it. Am I doing something wrong?

Hard to tell from the distance what went wrong. We don't see any issues with the age span settings.

Here is a quote from DP's MCCC 2022.6 change log where he explains the new age span code:

Changed the way I was storing the settings for age spans. There is now a AgeSpanNormal setting for human sims, an AgeSpanCatNormal for cats and an AgeSpanDogNormal for dogs. Existing settings should convert over to the new settings with no noticeable difference to the player.

I changed age span settings to have a default value of zero. This is in response to the headaches caused when the Sims 4 was recently updated with new default age spans. When any of the age spans are set to zero for any age now with MCCC, it will always just default to EA's aging process. There wasn't really a "default" process in age spans, previously, which made things a lot harder when the core defaults changed.

In the dialogs to set age spans for Sims in MCCC, there is now an additional step. The player must define the lifespan for the age spans being defined. This allows us to define the specific age values for Short, Normal and Long age spans since the Short and Long are no longer calculated from the Normal lifespan values the way they were before HSY. Like mentioned before, leaving the Long or Short lifespan age span settings to zero will just use EA's default settings for those. Everything defaults to zero unless otherwise changed to a different value.

Increased the maximum days in any sim age span to 4000. Before HSY's age span changes, players could set maximum age span on normal for any age to 1000. For long lifespan, this would turn into 4000 as it used 4x the normal age span setting to determine the length. To give players that same maximum length, I've just set the maximum on all age spans to 4000 now. Basically, that means if someone wanted to have 4000 days in Young Adult, they could do it on Normal now as well and there would not be a need to change to Long lifespan at all.

Hopefully this helps to understand the logic behind the MCCC age span settings.

Is there a way to set a played elderly sim as retired? In my rotational save, I have a sim who retired from the Scientist career. However, at some point, the game forgot this and he no longer receives his pension nor does he have the milestone for retiring. Is there a way to fix this? I looked through the settings, but didn't see anything. I just want to make sure I didn't miss it.

As far as I know there is no option in MCCC to manipulate retirement in any way. I also checked the debug commands but there seems also nothing to alter retirement state. But I never had had a game situation like this, so maybe others know more about it.

Hi. I have come upon a problem I didn't expect. I thought at one time we could allow our pregnant Sims to continue aging via MCCC. If it still is there, I cannot find it for the life of me. Or, was I only dreaming again? LOL Please, and thank you, in advance.

Guess you're looking for this setting:

Computer:MCCC > MC Pregnancy > Other Pregnancy > Allow Pregnancy Aging
When Sims are pregnant, they don't stop aging, which happens using the EA coding. The default will make it work as it does currently. Note, that this allows the Sim age to continue through the span of days in their age. It does NOT allow them to transition from one age-span to another.

Is anyone else having issues with MCCC marrying off sims to the opposite sex even though their sexual orientation is set differently?

I've just had MCCC marry off my sim self's first wife who is attracted to women and she was in a relationship with a woman to a man.

I've just checked her out in CAS and it now seems Liberty is attracted to men? I know when i last modified these, i set them all to women and no to exploring.

EDIT: Having gone back to the previous save file, my settings are still in place:

I was playing another household when MCCC told me Liberty got married.

It looks like MCCC overrides the CAS settings? But you could use the Flagging system in MCCC to be sure that Sims are only attracted to the sex that you want them to be attracted to.

Well, Liberty's girlfriend didn't mind her getting married! Although i don't think Liberty was attracted to Eduardo for his good looks! ;)

Although i'm about to annul this marriage, Liberty still has a "fell in love with Eduardo" milestone which i'd like to get rid off as well.

You might check this setting from an ingame computer:
Computer:MCCC > MC Marriage > Marriage Sim Selection > Use Gender Preference
This setting will use the target Sim's gender preferences when determining if they should marry another Sim. This is an additional check to any other MC Marriage settings that may be involved.

Note that this setting is deactivated by default.
