Can't knock on doors in Granite Falls

I'm not sure if this is a bug, or part of the game. My Sim wants to visit a friend in another lot at Granite Falls (both are on vacation in their separate lots). She can travel to the other lot, but there's no option to "Knock On Door." I know the friend is home, because she walked past my Sim into her house.
I've tried a search for this on the forums, and I went through the known bug list, but haven't found anything. Anyone else having this issue?

Is your sim able to knock on the Hermit's house door? Try testing to see if they can do that.

She went to visit the hermit, and his house was like all the others. She could "Lock Door For" and her club came up. So she could lock the door and only allow her club members. That's what she got on all the dwellings.
The Hermit's house was the only one where I could make the walls invisible, so she could go in.
I'll take out MC Command and see if it works better next time.

Has your sim met the hermit ? If she hasn't, try having her talk to the hermit, then after that try seeing if the option appears. Also, try meeting and talking to her friend , and see if the option appears after that. The sims may not be home, which is preventing the knock on door option to appear.

She met the hermit, but it didn't change her options.
And she went to another lot and chatted with her friend outside, but still couldn't enter.

Perhaps try having her return home. Then have her travel back to Granite Falls and see if the same thing occurs again.

@TheLibrarySim Once you travel thru the brambles in Granite Falls the Hermit's house is always open and knocking is not required. The brambles sort of serves as the doorway to the home.

Did you take both households to Granite Falls? Or was it just coincidence they are there at the same time? Granite Falls is a destination and not considered residential. That could be why you cannot knock on the other home and enter.

@Rosemow Coincidentally I had just traveled to Granite Falls which I rarely do so the information was still fresh

Both Sims were vacationing in Granite Falls in separate plays. It seems like before I could visit a lot and if someone was home, knock on the door. Maybe I'm mistaken.
