Going on a 400 mile trip with family today. Most likely will be stopping at the halfway point for the night, like we usually do. Going to see my older sister and her family in Hilton Head, South Carolina!
Haven't seen them since Christmas (before this Coronavirus crud) and can't wait to see how my niece and nephew have grown!

Would you ever want to move outside of your country?
When I was a kid, I dreamed of doing that. But now as an adult knowing about all these like getting foreigner passes or whatever just seems like too much work, so maybe no. XD
"Ma" for my mom and "Tikus" ("mouse" in Malay, LOL) for my dad.
Just mom and dad. Some of my friends find it interesting, but I (and my siblings) call my grandfather 'papa'. Which, at least around here, is more commonly used for father rather than grandfather.

While we're talking about what we call our grandparents, I have 3 sets (my mom's parents both remarried). My dad's parents are called Grammy/Grampy, then Nana/Papa and Grandma/Bill. I guess Bill didn't get a name

I only have one set of living grandparents. My mom’s mother died of cancer long before I was born and my mom’s dad died when I was four or so. When my family talks about them we call them grandpa/grandpa Larry and grandma Elizabeth.
My dads parents are still alive and going strong. Since my dads side of the family is Mexican I call them Abuelo and Abuela.
So yeah. The only interesting name in my family is my great grandmother on my mom’s side, who we call Grandana.
I just call my maternal grandparents "Nenek", grandma in Malay and "Atuk", Grandpa in Malay. No fancy names. 😂 My paternal grandparents died before I was born or when I was 1, so I didn't know them. But my maternal grandparents died when I was 9 and 12, so I didn't know them that well either.
My paternal grandmother died about a month after my older sister was born (so three years before I was born), and my paternal grandfather also passed away while I was 6. He had remarried, but his wife died when I was 3 or so. I only have vague memories of her...so if we ever mention them it's simply grandma Ann and grandma Roy.
My maternal great-grandmother passed away while I was in highschool, and we called her grams, or everyone who knew her loving called her grandma Tina.

Beaniesssssss. Tho I probably would look poop in one. But everyone who wears them just look great. XD
I like beanies, but I can't always pull them off. I do love the hats ladies wore in the 1940s and 1950s tho. Oh, and bonnets! Like Georgian bonnets. Even some of the Elizabethan headdresses are cool.
...okay, I just really like older fashions I'm such a history nerd

Got a megalodon tooth today! Diver said that he got it from a sandbar off the Outter Banks, NC. Apparently, the coastline was different back million years ago
So i know this was posted in like 2017, but I was reading the first few pages and I felt a strong need to say that I absolutely love the 100. I'm on season 5 right now. This is pretty random but I think that's what this thread is for lol. (:

How do you call/address your mom/dad?
"Ma" for my mom and "Tikus" ("mouse" in Malay, LOL) for my dad.
Mom ( mummy ) dad ( dad )
My mom is mommy and my dad is daddy lol

I just call them mom and dad. Unless I’m being snarky then I’ll call my dad “sir” because he hates when people call him that

My mom I address as either just Mom or mostl of the time Momma/Mama (pronounced Mo-mah)

Not much of a hat person, but if I do, I tend to wear a baseball hat.
