I agree with you about the rain part, but the thunder’s pretty out there for here. We don’t even get a whole bunch of it in the summer, let alone winter.
My area made national headlines recently because we had the worst tornado on record since 1972 in the state. And we're not exactly a state known for tornadoes. We did have a pretty bad windstorm, starting Saturday night and going into Sunday morning. Gusts got up to 60 mph here, but all the way up to 70mph in other places.
That's scary! I think if there was a tornado warning in my region, people would go truly bananas. I've never heard of a tornado where I live. We do get hurricanes, but they've usually weakened some because of the cooler waters as you go farther up. Usually ends up being heavy rain and wind.
