Sims won't eat leftovers anymore

For some odd reason, since a few minutes ago, when I click on the hunger symbol in the needs tab my sims will always choose to eat a quick meal or cook something. They won’t eat the tons of leftovers in the fridge anymore except for when I tell them to specifically by opening the fridge and klicking on the leftovers. With 7 sims in the household that’s super annoying.

I can't find an answer through google and I'm starting to get frustrated with the sheer amount of bugs this game has.

Anyone have any ideas how to fix this? I tried replacing the fridge, it didn't change a thing.

Were your sims previously going to the fridge and eating the leftovers when you pressed the hunger symbol?

If they were, and have now stopped doing that, repairing the game may help. To do that, right click on the sims 4 picture in Origin and click repair

Yes, they were doing it just fine till about 10 minutes before I wrote the post. I'm trying to remember what changed since then but really the only thing that happened is that Percy made silly gummybear pancakes and Margo got pregnant. It doesn't really make sense that either of those would affect it.

I've repaired my game, I've removed the cache files, I removed all the mods and CC I have and the issue is still the same. They choose to cook or eat a quick meal but they will not eat the leftovers.

Try having them travel to another lot and then back home again. Sometimes loading other lots then returning can help to fix issues.

I tried that, it didn't help, the problem still persists. I also moved them out and back in and the problem is still the same. I don't understand it and it's frustrating me, I don't know why that suddenly happens it was working just fine throughout the day.

If you haven't already done this, try resetting your sims 4 folder and see if that helps. To do that, move your sims 4 folder ( that is in Documents -Electronic Arts - then the sims 4 folder is there ) to the desktop. Then start the game, and a new sims 4 folder will be generated. Exit the game and then copy back the "options.ini" or "options" file and the "saves" , "screenshots" "tray" "custom music " and "mods" folders from the desktop sims 4 folder to the new sims 4 folder, replacing the new generated file/ folders with the old file/folders from the desktop sims 4 folder .

There was another simmer who posted the other day that they were having the same issue with the autosolve button.

I am currently reinstalling the game. Then I'll try moving the family to a new savefile and using the GTW freezer for the food. If none of those work I'll write a bug report in the Answer HQ. @Rosemow do you maybe have a link to that other thread? I'd like to check if the person there has done any additional steps or already reported it to EA but I can't find the thread you mentioned right now.

I have been searching for that thread but I just can't find it. I am sorry The simmer hadn't been able to fix this issue in their game.
I hope that your issue may not occur in the new save game.

It's alright. I just can't seem to fix the issue and I can't write a topic about it in that Answer HQ place because apparently I don't have permission to remove bugs, for whatever plum reason. I'm really sick of this, I can't be bothered to drag all the food out of the fridge all the time.

I did find some sort of workaround though, if I place the food in one of those retail freezer things it works so I'm just going to do that, no matter how stupid it looks.
