That sounds beautiful. Never been anywhere like Ireland, always wanted to see it though. No wonder you simmers build such interesting stuff, you've seen the interesting stuff in person! ;)

Back story: Sky burials, which were common in Tibet and parts of Mongolia and China, were a type of funeral ritual where a body was exposed to the elements and/or eaten by scavenging animals. In Zoroastrian tradition they used a stone structure called a Dakhma. This was because the body once dead was seen as unclean and could not touch earth or fire, which were sacred. While there were written records of Zoroastrian sky burials from the 5th century, the first record of the tower being used is in the 9th century. This practise began to fall out of usage around the 1970s and eventually the towers were abandoned.
Following the global droughts of the 2120's the towers slowly came back into usage as materials for cremation were scarce. The vulture population also slowly began to recover at this time. In around the 2160s the Simtasticans came to dominate the region. From then there was a permanent keeper of the tower who employed 2 apprentices, a male and a female to assist in the rituals. This worked quite well until a very unscrupulous keeper named Adeaevai took over. It had become very difficult to grow plants so she would gather remains and sell them as compost. Then she made a discovery that vampire dust made incredible compost. She had a cavern dug under the mountain to lure vampires with the aim of trapping them in the tower before dawn.

Tower of Silence looks very great! @folala :) You have very creatively designed the build! The way that you used the enlarged rocks in the exterior around the tower looks very creatively great! Very nice open air burial tower on top of the rocks! The gargoyles and other creatures look great on the edges of the roofing. It is sensitively done how you have shown the burials spots. The vampire coffins and the skeletons look great in the build! The stone texture of the walls and the black brambles gives a great look to the inside areas. The candles are nice touches on the walls.
The background details that you wrote about the build and about sky burials practice were both informative about the practice in general and creative in how you used the practice in your build and what you wrote to describe what occurs at your tower build!
It is a very creative burial ground build! :)

STARRING :: The Vampire Fae of Agartha

… At midnight, the Fae gathered around the three ancient stones of Simhenge to begin their long journey.

Joy Galesprite felt the shift in the winds first.
She turned to them, whispering excitedly …
    “Sisters, the Time has come!”

Nodding silently in agreement, the four Fae sisters joined hands and began to chant their most sacred hymn …

…“ Goddess of the Night …

Your story was so very creatively written! @Soulstarsim :) It was very special reading the four parts of the story, and the fairies journey to the Ancient Burial place! It was great reading what each of the fairies said, and their conversations. I wondered who would rise what the sarcopgagus! The Pool of Living Tears is very pretty! The flowers, lantern tree, large crystal and candles there look so very nice!
It is a very creatively nice story that encompasses well the ancient burial theme of the challenge! :)

    Back story:

Crocodile Cove was always abandoned. Even the ancient builders never bothered to complete construction, as the crocodile infestation literally took an arm and a leg to fight back.

But why waste a good half built temple?

That’s what the ancient lawyers thought, at least, they weren’t called lawyers back then. They were simply the “angry dudes who yelled and argued with everyone.”

But because they were angry and argued with everyone, they were banned from being buried at the local village cemetery. And that is why the lawyers took up residence at the temple, and buried their dead there.

Why didn’t the crocodiles attack the lawyers you ask?
    Professional Courtesy.

    Hello @24Lunaa :)
Welcome to the forums! It is great that you have joined the simming forums community! I hope that you will enjoy reading the forum threads and posting about your simming experiences.
Crocodile Cove-Temple looks very nice! :) You are so very creative in the background details that you wrote about the build! It was a very creative idea to build a burial ground for lawyers! Very nice exterior design of the temple! The layout looks very great! The towers look very nice. It looks great how the steps are used through the build. The upper walkway bridge looks great! The wall texture suits the build type. Very nice interior areas of the temple. The candles are a nice touch in the build. The urns on the shelving look great there, and the flowers are a nice touch on the tombstone. The skull picture looks great on the wall.
It is a very creative burial grounds build! :)

@Ainsleyf Thank you for the compliment :) It's awesome seeing those creative builds here, isn't it?

I love the look and feel of your Crocodile Cove Temple @24Lunaa and welcome to the forum. This thread is a great space to lurk and learn heh.

Alas, I won't be able to enter this round tho I have been trying to make some sort of dolmens (hope that's the right word for it), we have a lot of those here in the Netherlands... Anyway, it'll just take me too much time to figure out a way to make that look cool and natural at the same time. I'm way too fuzzy lol

Anyway, dolls, have a great weekend building and sharing and just generally having fun! Peace and love, joy and light <3

Back story: My first thought for Burial Grounds was Indian burial grounds, the kind people in scary stories unknowingly build their houses on, then get haunted. I dismissed that because I don't know the first thing about Indian burial grounds. My second thought was catacombs. Specifically, the Catacombs of Paris, an ossuary I couldn't hope to recreate with only sugar skulls. I made three or four things, bulldozed each of them, then challenged myself to build a 5-bedroom starter home and a 2-story starter home just to direct my frustration somewhere else. Then I tried again.

This time I started with catacombs. I couldn't do l'Ossuaire Municipal, but darn it, I wanted catacombs, and I could figure out what else I wanted later. It turned into a formal cemetery with just enough catacombs to make me happy. I did work in the sugar skulls, and then the game updated and somehow I messed up my various saves and lost my work. >.< Thankfully, I'd saved the lot to my library at its half-finished state, so I opened it and re-finished. I dressed some sims in historic-themed CC, painted them, and hung the paintings. The game decided my lot now had CC, so the paintings aren't there anymore, but they appear in my blog story here: https://phantasmkiss.tumblr.com/post/161184692213/restful-spirits-cemetery

Too Long/Didn't Read: My daughter got dragged on an urban exploration mission by her cousin, where the two got lost in the catacombs. Did they make it out alive? Of course! But they are SO grounded.

It was very great reading your story about Alexandria's and Leanne's trip to Restful Spirits Cemetry! @phantasmkiss :) You are so very creative in how you write your stories! It was great going on a tour of the cemetery through the narrative of the story. Each area of the build looks very nice! It was great that the story was told by both you and your daughter. The part about the Vampires. then you saying to Alexandria that it can't be because you don't own the game pack made me laugh. The reaper of gnomes is great! The area for young children who have passed away made be feel sad. It is nice that there is a Pets section in the Cemetry. The sugar skulls look great in the build. The ghost sims are very nice ! It was very nice that you came to the rescue of daughter and her cousin! The build and the story are very creative! :) .
