What to do? Baby drama!

One of my two alien babies got whisked away right when my sim returned to home lot. In that save I've started playing all game generated aliens (I have 15 this far) and the only way for them to get offspring is by being abducted. So these two babies are quite precious to me. I've been playing a couple of hours tonight and haven't saved since who knows when... This is the first time when I have to seriously think between saving or not saving in TS4. Is this a fitting dramatic event for the already gloomy dad or should I do everything I can to keep the baby? His name is Kaleb.

Do you think it's a glitch or could it be because there were two sims at home and I set them both to skill while I was away? I feel kind of quilty about it though I didn't know it could end up like this. Anyway it's really late and I'm leaning towards saying goodbye to Kaleb...

@NRowe Yeah he did. I just noticed he was removed from the family tree as well. I thought babies who got taken away stayed there, maybe it's because he's an alien?

The sims 4 automatically stores few save points so you can easily retrieve what you have lost by rolling back your save file.
I suggest you to save and exit the game and try what is suggested in this link:

It may be good to come out of the game without saving. I am sorry It also depends on when you think that you last saved, and your game progress since then.

Start a new save then try to retrieve an old save as described by simlover1145 above.

Thanks for the tips I checked my save files and there were none dated for this play session. It's the saddest thing that has happened in my games, but I decided to roll with it. I figured I could "bring back" Kaleb through CAS at some point if I feel that's necessary. He wont be related to Senior Pollinator Technician, but otherwise there's no difference - except it makes a dramatic story line.
