Your Current Sims 3 Household

SindocatSindocat Posts: 5,622 Member
Since this thread has been ended by its originator, I am creating a successor thread for those of us still active in The Sims 3 to share the faces, families and stories you are playing now. A successor thread also has been created by the OP for The Sims 4, which you can find here.

Pictures are not required, but are appreciated. You can visit the old thread for an idea of who's been posting along. Happy Simming!

UPDATE - it has been suggested that image-heavy posts make this thread difficult to load and navigate, so here's a new reqiest:

If posting more than five (5) images, any included above that number should be hidden with "spoiler" tags.

Also, if quoting another Simmer's post to reply, please only include the top image, or the specific picture you want to reply to! That should keep things from getting too congested.

I'm playing the Kelley household at the moment.

Matilda-Amaryllis Radcliff-Kelley & Finn Kelley ( They're adult and heading toward elder now though )

    tumblr_oe9esciosm1uj2se4o3_1280.jpg

    Their daughter, Scarlett-Lira Kelley

    tumblr_oe9esciosm1uj2se4o2_1280.jpg

Their son Dax Kelley ( he's still a teenager in my real game, but I was using him to test a fire station in this picture )

    p_dax_zpsngwiap4m.jpg

Matilda is a witch, Finn is a non-supernatural. Scarlett is a witch like her mother, Dax isn't. Finn and Matilda just had another baby, Declan in my game who is also a witch.
They're living in my Twinbrook save. Finn is placid and easygoing, loves to swim, surf and fish and originally lived in Sunlit Tides, Matilda is a Twinbrook native, serious and logical, with a love of crazy machines and tinkering with future technology.

I paired them together for a photo shoot for a ball that took place on another forum, and they really liked each other. I dithered around for six real months over which one I should move to a new homeworld.
I put Matilda in Sunlit Tides to test her fit, but the first day I put her in there, a meteor fell on her house. Being an eccentric inventor and future tech specialist, she didn't really seem to fit in that world and it didn't seem right to grunge and filthy it up with junkyards and such.

Finn however seemed "wrong" in Twinbrook with its lack of white sand beaches, easygoing laid back lifestyle. In the end, with him being the most easygoing, and despite it not being white sand, Twinbrook still having a beach where he could fish and surf, I decided that he'd probably be the one to make the move, especially since he adored Matilda. So, I shifted him over to Twinbrook and he's been happy as happy with his girl and now his children.

They look really classy! I am embarrassed that the last household I shared was so riff-raff-y, now!

You have to pay attention to these omens! :D

Good, strong noses, by the way. That's the first thing I have to fix on any townie that becomes involved in any of my households. It looks like Scarlett-Lira inherited her dad's - but it works surprisingly well on her - she looks strong-minded.

Thanks for sharing, and feel free to give us updates from time to time!

@Pary Your sims are GORGEOUS! What skin do you use? (PS... Dax looks very much like Channing Tatum... ;) )
You know, I've been trying to get a meteor in my game for a bit now. I don't seem to have any luck with that (I can't consider it good luck, since I want it to happen :D )
You'll have to keep us updated! :)

Currently playing the Ansari family in Lunar Lakes. Kara is not particularly gorgeous.

Kara also prefers arguing with Charles the Evil Chicken, while Raja prefers to argue with himself.

@ChelleJo , thank you ! I use Mango Smoothie Skin
It's really beautiful. Lovely and smooth. I had my previous defaults since 2009 and never found any skin that I loved more than them, but I replaced them a couple of months ago with this one. Interestingly, it's also similar enough to my old ones that my sims don't look much different than they used to. Just nicer now.

@Sindocat , thanks ! I have my share of riff-raff too :) They're my favourite families to play. I have one lot who live in an abandoned sanitarium.
The Kelley's have money because Matilda "won" the lottery when she was young after her first trip to the future. She checked the lotto results at Oasis Landing city hall, came home, bought a ticket and won 3 million simoleons  It was actually only 150 000 in the beginning but after she won, my game crashed and I had to reload. On the second draw, she won the big money and I was really shocked. One of my sims had previously won the lottery ( fairly ) and the first prize was only $50 ( LOL ) so I had no idea it could go that high.

Also, I LOVE noses. Most of my sims have strong noses and jaws. They just give a face so much character I think. The kids are actually a good blend of their parents I think. The few times I've had children in game, the kids have either been hideous or clones of one of the parents. These ones seem like a good mix, and I was really chuffed to see they aged up nicely with no "plastic surgery" from me lol.

Noses and chins are important. :) Not all of my Sims are model-pretty, sometimes it's the flaws that add character. Kara Ansari from @KarinL 's post is a case in point.

And regarding that post... Evil chickens? o.O Is than a Lunar Lakes thing? I don't own that world yet - saving it for when I finally get ITF. :)

The Evil Chicken comes from the store. It is the Chicken Coop that comes in the Country Livin' Set. Or a 2013 collection.

I don't have any pictures of my current sims. I'll have to snap some tonight. :)

I played a Big Brother game with 16 Elder sims. I thought it would be fun to see Elders in action. They're pretty much exactly the same as younger sims, only they walk a lot slower. :D When it came time to pick a winner I just couldn't decide between the two since I liked both of them equally.

I've been wanting to play a game to experience Genies because I've never had one yet. So I decided to take my two BB winners and move them to another town and have them meet a Genie. My goal is that one of them will fall in love with him and free him and have babies.

But I had to wait on all of this until my sims earned enough Lifetime Happiness points to take the Young Again potion to go back to being a YA. I'm considering that their prize for winning BB. I know I could have cheated them young again, but I wanted the challenge of them earning the points.

So far I've moved them to Twinbrook and redesigned their house. Now I just need to have them take the potion and give them makeovers. Then I'll send them off to either search the mausoleum or earn enough points to buy the Dusty Old Lamp reward. Wish me luck! :)

Thank you everyone. I didn't see @KarinL 's post this morning, sorry about that ! It took me ages to type my post, and I was feeling really sick, which is a side effect of a new diabetic medication my Dr put me on.
I think your Sims are gorgeous ! I love sims that are unique, with strong features. There is just something about them, and they look all the more beautiful to me because they're not china doll delicate <3

Kate, I do not know HOW you can play with 16 sims lol. I am having trouble with just the five I currently have ! I am so used to just playing one, maybe two.
I would love to see some pictures. Elders don't get enough love.

I love the skins you're using, @Pary. The Kelley's are beautiful.

I didn't have a chance to play this weekend, too busy with house stuff, so I'll try to take some pictures next weekend. I'm still playing my witch sim Diana Ravenwood, her husband Ned (normal sim), infant son Erik (witch), and kitty Simon. They live in Moonlight Falls. I haven't downloaded any default replacement skins on the new computer yet so I think I'll try a few and see what I like.

@KarinL I love Charles the Evil Chicken! :D:D From the look Kara is giving... I'm sure she gives ol' Charles a run for his money! :D

@Pary Thank you! I downloaded it (and the Yogurt one, why not) and can't wait to give it a try in game! :)

@Sindocat I do agree as for noses. I love unique noses on my sims. Unfortunately, my main sim right now's nose isn't what I want it to be. I've edited it once, but I'm still not happy with it. It's not unique enough. I'd take her for plastic surgery, but that was a big fat fail once already. I might just take her in CAS and edit that way.

@KATENESS If you have Generations there is a chemistry lab that you can learn potions on. You can get a Young Again potion on it. It's a bit pricey to make, but when you are discovering a potion they will craft the first one free. They don't discover them in any particular order, but I always have sims learn all of them fairly quick enough.

@Pary well playing with 16 sims is easy when you're not actually playing them. I like the hands-off approach when it comes to a Big Brother game. I do my best to not interfere. I watch them go about their little sim lives getting in fights and making friendships. It's fun!

@ChelleJo Thanks for the info about the chemistry table. I didn't even think about it. My sims have enough points each for the potion so I'm going to use that. Is there any other way to get a Genie, besides the LTR or finding it in a mausoleum?

@KATENESS You're welcome. :) I'm not sure on Genies. I've only really played around with my first one a couple months ago. Heck, I didn't even know you could get one at a mausoleum.

You can upgrade the PlasmaPunch Gyroscopic Conductor to have a Dimensional Gate option which is just another text adventure which a chance to bring back a genie lamp. I've gotten several of them that way. The upgrade is odd, my sims keep finishing at less that 100% each time getting closer and closer to 100% complete. It takes multiple attempts to finally complete it. At least in my games.

    :D:D:D:D

    I remember that thread.

In fact, I was just thinking about it while playing yesterday. One of my bad boys has the "Magic Makeover" LTW, and that can inflict similarly spectacular results. It's taking a long time to finish because a.) I forget to prioritize it and b.) he isn't naturally mean like the werewolf he lives with.

@Sindocat :D:D:D ah, what an epic fail!!! I've never seen that LTW (fairy LTW?). My sim is a fairy right now. I bestowed "inner beauty" on her insane granddaughter, just to see it.... wowzers... it was hilarious! I felt bad, doing it to her grandfaughter, but couldn't stop laughing everytime I saw her!! :D:D it did go away, though, so I was pretty happy about that. :)

@TreyNutz my PlasmaPunch Gyroscopic Conductor upgrade does the same thing. It took several tries for my sim to upgrade it, I could not figure out what in the world was going on.

Yeah - my juvie delinquent boys are fairies, and that's the source of the LTW. Tavie (pink wings) is the one working on that wish, currently a 3/12. Tino, with the blue, had "Golden Voice, Golden Fingers" or whatever the Charisma/Guitar mastery wish is, and he accomplished it yesterday.

My current sim household has zero.
but when I reinstall it-it will probably have about 4 sims in their, And I'll probably have a married couple and break up and then cheat on another sims move into their house. And then my sim would have a bunch of kids and then I will populate the city with my sims children.

Alright, here's a picture of the winners of my Big Brother Elders game after they've taken the Young Again potion and gotten their makeovers.

Haha! Well it's been a long game already. They were both after the same guy in the Big Brother house and they were enemies for a little bit. But they've slowly worked their way to being friends. I just consider it part of their story now that they're out of the house and living together in a new town. I'm sure they would want to at least be civil.

@KATENESS, can you explain the "big brother" thing? I don't think I get the reference. I bet the gals are glad to be young again. Once Tavie hurries up and finishes his LTW, I plan to get my boys Age Freeze Potions - though Fairies age slowly anyway.

Here's a breakfast pic for the morning - I hadn't gotten Logan into this thread yet. Here he is in his work attire, looking like a thug. :D Nice to have my Sims on the same eating schedule for once.
