Level 6 in active careers

Has anyone actually managed to build a new work station at level 6?? It's taking me forever to get the resources needed to do it, cant believe how time consuming it is. Anyone have any tips? I've been trying to meet the daily quotas to get extra resources but I literally have to sit on the game for hours on end and it gets pretty boring as everyone else is gardening!

It was easiest in the police station where I have built all the workstations and now also have two lvl 10 police officers. It was much harder in the movie studio where I still only have built 4 of the 8 extra workstations (two in each branch) and where my specialists still only are lvl 8.

But I also don't play as much as I did earlier because I don't have much to play for. The movie studio and the hospital just feel like the police station and I need something new to play for. There are still places elsewhere where I haven't unlocked everything that can be unlocked with orbs. But those places are for new hobbies and all my 34 sims have hobbies already and there is no way to get more than those 34 sims. There are just more have hobbies in this game than the max limit allow for the number of sims which make those extra hobbies superfluously.
