Hi!
I take a nice Sunday afternoon nap, with the intent of playing Sims 4 when I wake up, and wouldn't you know it? Origin says that login is currently unavalible....
1) Who else is getting this message tonight?
2) How soon will this issue be resolved???

I am sorry that you are having this issue. Try coming coming completely out of the game. Then go back in again and see if that helps.
If you are stil receiving the message, you may need to try again a little later on in the day.
Edit : I may have mistaken what you meant. I thought that you may not have been able to connect to the gallery, but now I think that you may have meant that you couldn't log in to Origin

Check to make that your firewall is not causing issues.
Check that you are not in offline mode.
Uninstalling and reinstalling origin may help.

Open your control panel.
Go to Internet options.
Click the connections tab and at the bottom of the window click on LAN SETTINGS.
Uncheck the option Use a proxy server for your LAN.
Click Apply then click OK
Close Origin and reboot your computer.
Start Origin by right clicking the icon and choosing Run As Administrator. (If it auto starts, exit it and then run it as administrator.)
Also be sure your operating system is fully updated, that helps with the new origin.

Well, the update failed to resolve the isuue, so I uninstalled Origin completely, and re-installed it, and I got in, but it is taking forever to list my games....
In the meantime, anyone want a sweater knitted while I wait?

The good thing is that it is really well integrated with other EA services, like support, now and that makes it easier to get help when you need it. And there are some suggestion that have come up that have been forwarded to the Origin team so, it's bound to get better with another update or two.
Thanks for that little tidbit of 411, @DarkAmaranth1966 !!! And as it turns out, I did log on tonight, and my game plays smoothly....But dang, I miss the old Origin format! (Especially how they list my add ons)
Oh, and going off on a rabbit trail here, but I heard thru the grapevine that Maxis no longer exists? Like I said in my introduction a year ago, I have not played since Sims 2 days

The maxis Studio in Emeryville, CA was actually closed in March of last year. It's been an affiliate of EA for a long time before that. More just the loss of the Maxis name than anything this month. Nothing drastic that will significantly affect The Sims games or, any other games. Bioware is also now totally EA as well (That's the Dragon Age Series and others.)
Origin 10 does take some getting used to and, it is a bit different to work with since it's now basically a webpage, you have to treat it almost like another browser - EA's personal browser.

Try switching back to 32 bit mode and see if that helps. To do that ,
Go to Game Library in Origin . Right click on The Sims 4 picture.
Click on “Game Properties”. Click on Advanced Launch options.
Change the “When launching this Game” setting to “The Sims 4 32-bit”
Try turning off origin in-game and see if that helps. To do that, go,to Game Library in Origin . Right click on The Sims 4 picture. Click on “Game Properties”. Then untick the box that enables origin in-game.
Try seeing if playiing in offline mode helps.
Sometimes having a large amount of items in the sims inventories and household inventory can cause issues. Try removing some of the items from the inventories and see if that helps.
