I used to wear the biology room snake during class, and it always went in one of the arms of my t-shirt and wrapped around my ribcage and over my neck. I think it was a bit cold in there for the poor thing. Some people are born with a horror of snakes, others of spiders, some with both, some with none. I have the spider issue but no issue with snakes.

I share your sentiment about deep ocean trenches...they give me the creeps even just by existing. But I have enjoyed snorkeling over some reefs, and swimming at the beach. Though you are absolutely right about how quickly it can turn deadly. It only took one experience of having a riptide so strong that it almost sucked my feet out from under me in knee-deep water, for me to never again be willing to swim in water where riptides are happening.
And I have had to make a life-affecting decision in less than a day and it really stinks, because when it's important, but time-sensitive, the consequences of making the wrong decision can be dire. Nothing like sweating under time pressure!

Oof, too many times... Most of them aren't even something other people would remember anymore, but I still feel embarrassed thinking them. And yes, I've also said something I truly regret.
