I think the new Origin design implements something similar to Australis? (sp?) - Firefox brought it in and I had to change web browsers because it became so slow! - the new design Origin takes forever to update, and I don't like the look of it, but apart from that it's OK I guess.

    Spelling edit.

Why does it force the update? I have limited time to play today and wanted to let it update when I leave but it won't let me play without the update and the update takes over an hour. I cant even find any info on what this update is for! Guess it's back to Sims 3 for me today. :-(

    Hello
Some computers work better in 32 bit mode rather than in 64 bit mode.
It can depend on the processing power and amount of memory that your computer has.Sometimes computers have well, above the requirements, but still find 32 bit mode works best.

There was an Origin update yesterday and a Sims update today. Let both of them update then try to load the game again.

How much RAM does your computer have? If it is 4GB or under, you should be using the 32GB version of the game. The 64GB version often does not run well for people with 4GB or under. The same is true if you are on a lower-end CPU. Sometimes the 64GB version is just too ambitious for the hardware.
