OMG OMG OMG. YAS the hair needs animation. seriously that looks gorgeous. we need flowing or at least moving hair and fluid clothes.

On the other hand, I probably use a mix of both. There are some alpha hairs I can't do without and EA/Maxis has lately come out with some nicer clay hair.
That was a sticking point when S4 was first released...I absolutely HATED clay hair. For me it was a step backward in CAS. But fast forward to 2016, I think the devs are trying to at least put some kind of texture in the clay.
(Edit to say, all the sims in my avi have alpha hair.)
In my house, dog hair sticks to everything but the dog.
I prefer clayified alpha hair.
It's basically alpha hair that has been edited to resemble the art style that's already in the game and it comes out looking like this;
And personally that's the best mix of detailed and simplistic for me.
Clay. I don't think alpha hairs fit the art style of The Sims 4. In The Sims 3 they looked great but in The Sims 4 they don't. I only download CC that is maxis-match, including hairs, clothes and build/buy mode objects.
I download and use both, I don't feel that alpha doesn't fit in. It's probably the makeup that download as well, which make sims look less cartoony, so the alpha fits. Some clay styles are also very pretty, and I still use them.
It's funny, back when I was younger I much preferred alpha hair, in Sims 2 & 3. But for Sims 4 I prefer Clay hair a lot more! I guess I'm just not so into the stringy look of alpha hair anymore? Maybe that will change again someday. I also feel like the clay hair just fits sims 4 best because its toony maybe its different if you have a lot of realistic cc.
Clay. Any other hair in the TS4 world looks out of place, I've seen enough to know I can't be convinced otherwise I agree that it looks stringy and like a wig.
Alpha! I think it's up to the player on how they play the game.I did like clay hairs until they changed the lighting which seemed to make the game more realistic than it had been previously.I don't think one is better than the other, it's just personally what you like! Of course,someone has to say they look bad and insult alpha style by saying they look like cheap 🐸🐸🐸🐸 because there preference is sooo much better.Is there a need to insult and instigate a flame war over a style preference? Smh

I use alpha hair all the time and my Sims never look like a prostitute, lol! xD
I know, right? XD XD XD To me alpha hair just makes my sims look like they're wearing wigs.
