Eeeek!
I have never had a drowning yet.
But I did have some people get stuck in the tiles of a pool once.
The old lady died before I realised how to get them all out of there.
Oh, dear. The only random death of an active Sim was the wife of my Gen. 2 Heir. The family was camping and she'd already cooked one meal on the grill. However, the next morning (curiously after learning her brother-in-law's heavily guarded secret he worked for the Mobwives) she fires up the grill and kaboom. Suddenly, the poor dear has fingers of flames licking at her arms, her clothes engulfing her. By the time her Detective hubby and their two sons became aware, it was too late. She couldn't even extinguish herself. I know, I tried to find the interaction. It was not my plan to lose Jade at that moment in time, however, she did become my first non death by old age. I had pictures, but they are now deleted.
This is my very first random death of an active Sim. She was the wife of my Gen. 2 Heir. He was a detective. She had already grilled up a meal the evening before. Early the next morning — curiously just after she learned from her brother-in-law, that he worked for the Mobwives — when she fired up the grill to make breakfast Kaboom! Suddenly, fingers of flames reached out from beneath the grill to lick at her arms, her clothes until they finally engulfed her! By the time her hubby and two little sons became aware of her trouble, it was too late. (Click on the link, you'll see the pix.) I didn't intend for this to happen. I even tried to have her extinguish herself, but I couldn't find the interaction. Nor could I have her husband do so. I finally shrugged and let happen what happened. Jade became my very first non-death by old age, death.
this looiks so disturbing. I hope my simmies won't drown.
Don't worry. The one and ONLY Sim I've ever lost to a drowning was way, way back in Sims3. For the longest time, I never suffered (or experienced random deaths of my own Sims) but when they occurred, it was, quite naturally, thanks to Murphy's Law, a favorite Sim. Starting with Sims3, this has been dumbed way down.
I've had the exact same thing happen during my club gathering at The Bluffs. Everyone was swimming and just having a great time when suddenly Grim Reaper appeared, and only then did I realize that an elder from my club over-exhausted himself and died. It was so random and a total buzz kill, the club members were sad for the next 2 days.
