A somewhat delayed posting, which may be followed by another one later today.
Saying goodbye - or at least so long - to some characters.
David was feeling particularly low that morning when he woke up. Partly because his older brothers had betrayed him and Bernie, partly because he lost the bidding war on the house he had looked at. They seemed to be back to square one.
Being a scientist doesn't mean you're good at experimenting in the kitchen.
But Bernie knew his way around a fire extinguisher.
That's what you get for failing one too many experiments.
"Cheer up!" Bernie laughed it off. "I wanted to surprise you with breakfast, but we all know who is the master chef in this house."
"I know. I was just...I really wanted to move house. Start again, you know?"
"But instead, we had to pick up the trash after Andrew and Charles."
"And the neighbours have started talking."
When David had left for work, Bernie went into space. Generally, he did his best thinking while up amongst the stars and planets.
Landing on Sim Earth again, he had a plan! In his science shed, he began calibrating the Magical Portal thingy.
He tested the atmosphere.
"Now work your magic!"
And when David came back from another intense day at the restaurant...
"Holy Sims! What happened to the house?"
"Did you do this?" David asked over dinner.
"Well, I just fiddled around a little with the Magical Portal thingy. Do you like it?"
"That horrible downstairs cell is now a spa area!" Bernie continued.
"And the lab is more of a library and lounge area."
"We've also got a proper gym now."
Finally, David could invite the neighbours over. He was especially keen on playing a game of chess with Linda.
So it seems everything turned out for the best in this household after all.
Phew! So happy that Bernie knows his way around a fire extinguisher! Last time my house caught on fire in a casual play, one of my Sims died. I also love the idea of the personal home gym
Lisa, John and Armeleia had just moved into their new house on the small island off Windenburg.
It was a spacious place; one older house adjoined to a modern building via a walkway with a garden.
"Good morning to you!" Lisa kissed John. "How was your first night in our new house?"
"Wonderful. I love you."
At breakfast Lisa serenaded John.
But suddenly...
"Mum!"
"Put some clothes on, mum!"
"What?" Armeleia seemed a little confused.
That first weekend Lisa and John invited over some friends for a house warming party.
Eventually they all ended up in or by the pool.
John and Mike remembered it was the finals of Simlish Bake Off, so they went back inside for a while...but wait a minute, who's that in the background?
It seemed Armeleia had decided to skinny dip in the pool!
Suddenly all the guests were excusing themselves. I don't think I can take this anymore, Lisa thought to herself.
John splashed into the pool, hoping to drown his shame.
After Lisa left for work the next Monday, John and Armeleia were left standing outside the house for a while.
"Mrs Bramble, you know we both care very much about you, but this nudity thing has got to stop."
"Nudity?" Armeleia exclaimed.
"Yes, at breakfast and when we have friends over. You can't do that!"
"John, I am so sorry. Sometimes I'm a little absent-minded and I forget. I hope I didn't embarrass you."
"It's ok. I will survive (I hope)."
"I will buy you a nice, fluffy bathrobe that you can wear around the house. How's that?"
Lisa and John invited Zoe over to welcome her to the family.
"I'm so happy for you!" Zoe said when she saw Lisa's belly.
"And we're happy for you! Mummy loves you so much."
"I feel like a very lucky gal!" Zoe exclaimed.
"You should know there will be no pressure to babysit or anything", Lisa hurried to inject.
"Oh, I won't mind!" Zoe said.
"The baby will be born in a few days. We were wondering if you would like to have your wedding here in our garden?"
"I think Armie...I mean, your mother would love that! It's a wonderful idea! Thank you."
Of course, Lisa also wanted to share her happy news with Alma and invited her out for lunch.
"I've missed you! What have you been up to?" Alma asked as she hugged her friend.
"Urgh, yes...I'm...burp"
"Are you ok?" Alma asked, backing away a little.
"It's fine. I just get a little...um, morning sickness."
"We're having a baby!"
"Oh, congratulations! That's wonderful news!"
Inside the ladies room, Lisa sensed there was something else going on with Alma.
"Is everything alright with you and Raphaël?"
"Yeah, we're fine", Alma replied and didn't seem to want to talk.
As they sat down to eat, Zoe waved from another table.
"Hi, Lisa! How's pregnancy treating you?"
"I'm fine, thank you. Just a little nauseous sometimes.
"You're Alma, aren't you?" Zoe continued. "Are you also expecting a little bundle of joy?"
"No, not quite", Alma cut her off.
Lisa wondered what that tone of voice meant. She had never noticed it in her friend before.
The day finally came, but Lisa was feeling really nervous.
So she decided to do some cleaning.
Armeleia passed her in the kitchen.
"I'm off to work? Is everything ok?" she asked.
"Yes, just cleaning...some of these dishes away", Lisa replied in agony.
Until she couldn't hold it in any longer.
"Aw, my little darling. Here you are, finally!"
But wait, there were two babies!?
John had been right all along!
After the initial shock, John was quick to cuddle with his newborn sons.
Perhaps the proudest grandmother of all.
"What is your name, little darling?"
"We decided to call them Lee and Parker", Lisa said.
The following day Armeleia and Zoe were still celebrating.
Zoe was ever the doting aunt.
"Itty bitty Lee, you're my favourite. Yes, you are."
"Daw, Parker, you're my favourite too!"
Eventually the day came when the babies grew into boys.
Armeleia loved to help with the homework. Parker excelled, while Lee was always longing to go play.
Parker liked to excavate and collect things he found outside.
He was perhaps a little bit of a loner and his most precious activity was the club meetings at the library, where nobody spoke to anybody else and he was left alone with his books.
He did enjoy the odd game of chess in the park, but he wasn't the best loser.
However, Lee was always hanging around the playground and making new friends.
Time passed in the Bramble Patel household.
"That new hairdo suits you so well!" Armeleia exclaimed.
"You like it? Thank you. I felt I needed a change now that my birthday is coming up soon", Zoe replied.
"Let's go out and celebrate your birthday at that new café. I hear they have excellent cake."
At the Sweet Tooth Café.
"Honey, I'm nervous", Zoe said.
"Uh-huh", Armeleia mumbled as she tried to decide between chocolate cake and cheesecake or maybe...
"I love you. I'm going to blow out the candles now."
"Ok, here goes."
"Hip hooray!"
"What a strange feeling", Zoe thought.
"Maybe we should try the white cake", Armeleia said.
"Ow, ouch!" Zoe moaned. Every bone in her body seemed to be hurting.
"Mm, this cake is delicious!" Zoe said. "Now I feel much better."
It was a few days later after the doctor's appointment and Armeleia was upstairs in the children's room.
In a fit of rage she had just destroyed the pretty dolls house.
Zoe came upstairs.
"But honey, what have you done?"
"I am ill and you care more about a stupid doll's house?" Armeleia bit back.
"You know that's not what I meant."
Lisa came upstairs too.
"Mum, what is going on?"
"I thought you promised me! I can't be having you behave like this in my home."
"Lisa, I have to tell you something. I'm ill. The doctor said I don't have much time."
"I don't want to die!" Armeleia exclaimed.
"Mum, you're not going to die. We'll get through this. Together."
"Darling, you're the best daughter anyone could ask for."
"It was a silly thing to do, beating up that doll's house", Zoe said. "But John fixed it. It's ok now."
"Everything will be alright. I know it", Zoe continued. "Just take your medication. It will help."
"And then, when you've had a nap, we can go to Sweet Tooth café for cake."
But later, when Armeleia had fallen asleep, Zoe confessed to Lisa:
"I know she doesn't have much time. But I want to make these last few days to be the best of her life."
"I'm so sorry, Zoe", Lisa said."
"Don't worry. We had a good life together, me and Armie. I wish she could just see her grand children grow up."
A little while later, Lee came downstairs.
"Mum, why are you sad?"
"It's alright, darling. Don't worry."
"Grandma is not feeling well. She just needs to rest. And she's sorry about the doll's house."
"It's ok, mum. Daddy fixed it. I love you."
"I love you too."
In the morning, Parker gave his grandmother an extra long hug.
"I dreamt you were all gone, grannie", he said.
"Aw, darling. Don't worry. It was just a bad dream."
Downstairs in the kitchen, she found Lisa.
"Parker was a little sad", Armeleia said.
"We're all a little worried", Lisa replied.
"It's ok, you don't have to worry about me", Armeleia said. "I'm doing fine. Now off you go to work! Write those bestsellers!"
Outside in the garden, Zoe was having a morning swim in the pool.
A little later they sat down for a cooling glass of lemonade.
"Cheers to us! And to love!" Armeleia exclaimed.
"Yes, cheers to love everlasting! Let's go do something fun!" Zoe suggested.
So, they both dressed up for a day on the town.
Of course, they had to try the new karaoke place in San Myshuno.
Armeleia gave her everything in a heartfelt rendition of the country classic "My Broken Heart".
In the square outside they watched a living statue not failing.
"This is so impressive!" Armeleia said.
"Really? I swear I saw her move", said Zoe, who wasn't all that impressed.
There was a beautiful fountain with glimmering coins at the bottom of it.
"I'm going to make a wish!" Zoe said.
"Don't tell me what it is, or it won't come true", Armeleia laughed. I wish you will get well, Zoe thought to herself.
The following day, Lee had a play date with his friend Marianne.
Marianne had just moved into a new apartment in San Myshuno with her mother.
Aw, they just became best friends AND partners in crime!
But back home, Armeleia was still destroying the dolls house.
Just as Lisa walked in on her...
"Mum, you can't keep doing this! It makes the children so sad."
"They should care less about a silly doll house and more about me."
"I care about you. We all do! But it's hard to keep making apologies for you."
"Well, I seem to just be in everybody's way lately", Armeleia's old manners were peaking through again.
"Mum, really, we all love you so much. You have no idea."
"I don't know what else to say", Lisa said.
Armeleia sighed. Deep down she knew she was in the wrong, but it was hard to admit it.
Eventually, she said: "I think I'm going to go have a lie down. I'm sorry I ruined the dolls house again."
"It's ok. I'll fix it before they see it", Lisa replied as Armeleia walked away.
Downstairs she found Zoe.
"I don't know what's wrong with me. I keep having this rage fits and destroying the children's toys. And now Lisa is angry with me."
"Honey, don't worry. Let me relax those shoulders for you. We'll work this out and everything will be ok."
"I'm really not feeling well", Armeleia said. "I should sit down."
"I'm going to get Lisa", Zoe said, trying to remain composed while Armeleia collapsed in a chair.

And Lisa was...erm, in the bathroom.
Oh, what's this then? Confetti?
Yes!
"Hey, handsome, guess what!"
"We're having a baby!"
"Wha..."
"I'm going to be a dad!"
"Oh, my darling...!" John began serenading Lisa.
Lisa ran downstairs to tell her mother.
"You're going to be a grandma!"
When Zoe came over to pick her up for their date, Armeleia shared the big news.
After the date was over, Armeleia kissed Zoe on the cheek.
"Let's get married this instant! Then you will be an aunt!"
"Me, an aunt? I mean, you want to get married now?"
"Whoever sent this crazy lady to me, thank you!"
"I love you, my little nutcase", Zoe said as she hugged Armeleia.
"I'm so happy for you!" Zoe said when she saw Lisa's belly.
"And we're happy for you! Mummy loves you so much."
"I feel like a very lucky gal!" Zoe exclaimed.

"No, not quite", Alma cut her off.
Lisa wondered what that tone of voice meant. She had never noticed it in her friend before.
Armeleia decided to take up yoga in preparation for the wedding.
"How are you feeling, honey?" John asked.
"I'm great! The baby is kicking like a madman in there!"
"Maybe it's two, then!" John suggested.
Lisa laughed.
"That would be too funny!"
"Oooh, my back is killing me today", Lisa moaned.
"Let me give you a massage", John offered.
"I love you. You're going to be a great mum!" John said, blowing a kiss.
So she decided to do some cleaning.
Armeleia passed her in the kitchen.
"I'm off to work? Is everything ok?" she asked.
"Yes, just cleaning...some of these dishes away", Lisa replied in agony.

Perhaps the proudest grandmother of all.

Origin ID: Sims4Girl202
So unexpected! But works well with the story, since I had created a children's room with two beds prior to the birth.
"Darling, you look stunning!" Zoe said.
"You don't look half-bad yourself", Armeleia joked.
"Silly, wonderful you!"
The ceremony was tender and magical, Lisa thought.
Afterwards, there was delicious cake to be had.
"So, dear wife...um, would you like some cake?" Armeleia asked.
"Yes, my lovely wife, I would!"
Armeleia had decided to bury the hatchet and had invited both David, who was enjoying a drink by the pool...
...and Bernie.
"That is a stunning dress!" she complimented him.
"Thank you! It was on sale at The Landgraab Emporium."
Of course, Lisa wanted to show off her twins to Alma.
"This is Lee", she said. "He's such a happy and alert little baby. Parker is more sleepy."
But Alma had some news of her own.
"I've met someone. Her name is Claire", she said.
"Oh, you broke up with Raphaël?" Lisa exclaimed.
"No, not exactly", Alma continued. "We met at The Buffs. Your mum was there with Zoe also. And we just hit it off."
"It's a little complicated", Alma continued. "Then again, maybe it's not."
"Anyway", she said. "We've decided to move in together. All three of us."

"Maybe we should try the white cake", Armeleia said.
"Ow, ouch!" Zoe moaned. Every bone in her body seemed to be hurting.
"Mm, this cake is delicious!" Zoe said. "Now I feel much better."
"You're still adorable to me", Armeleia said.
Parker has started making serums. He tried giving one to Lee...
...but Lee didn't seem affected by it at all.
Listening to dad reading a story is the next best thing to reading it yourself.
Lee continued on his journey to Social Networking Guru.
He liked telling stories.
"And then the bear ran away."
Armeleia and Zoe exchanged glances, but decided not to question the veracity of the story.
His best friend Marianne was very impressed with the story about the bear, even if it may have been embellished. Just a little.
Parker generally preferred the company of adults, especially Zoe, who was his favourite aunt. Actually, she was his only aunt. But never mind.
John was well on his way to becoming a famous painter. Apparently, if you wear a funny hat painting is more inspired.
Lisa has started work on her masterpiece.
"What did you do?" Armeleia asked.
"It wasn't me!" Zoe shouted.
"I was just making some lunch", she continued in a panic.
AAAAAAH!!! PANIIIIIC!!!!
Fireman Bramble to the rescue!
"Phew now! Things really get hot around here sometimes."
"My hero!"
"Maybe you should set fire to things more often", Armeleia joked.
"Maybe I should!"
It was a quiet affair at home.
Well, Lee and his best friend Marianne may have been play fighting a little, but Lisa enjoyed the cake at least.
But the next day when Armeleia woke up she wasn't feeling well at all.
Every bone in her body seemed to be aching.
"I think I'm coming down with something."
"Darling", she said to Zoe, "I'm going to the doctor's for a check-up. Nothing to worry about. I'll be home for dinner."
"Hello, Mrs Bramble. The tests have just come back from the lab."
"The results were a little inconclusive, so as a precautionary measure we'd like you to start on your medication today already."
"You may feel a little drowsy afterwards, but you're fine to go home. Would you like me to call your wife to come and pick you up?"
A little later, Zoe arrived at the hospital to find Armeleia asleep on the couch in the reception.
"Honey, I'm here now. We can go home."
"The doctor said I have to come back for surgery later this week", Armeleia said.
"Darling, I will be here for you. Always", Zoe said and took Armeleia's hand.
"Thank you. I am a little nervous."
There will be an update shortly. I'm just getting the hang of City Living, in the hopes of incorporate it into this story before starting a new one.
It was a few days later after the doctor's appointment and Armeleia was upstairs in the children's room.
In a fit of rage she had just destroyed the pretty dolls house.
Zoe came upstairs.
"But honey, what have you done?"

A little while later, Lee came downstairs.
"Mum, why are you sad?"

"Grandma is not feeling well. She just needs to rest. And she's sorry about the doll's house."
"It's ok, mum. Daddy fixed it. I love you."
"I love you too."
One night Parker had a bad dream.
He found himself at the hospital.
But there was nobody else there but him.
"Mum! Grandma! Lee! Where are you?" he shouted as he ran down the corridor.
But there was no reply.
Eventually, he found himself in the reception.
"Dino, do you know where everybody is?"
But Dino was fast asleep.
He sat down in the cantina, trying to work out what was going on.
They've all left me. I'm alone, he thought.
So, he went outside, hoping that maybe there were people outside.
But not even in the park nearby could he find anyone.

"I'm really not feeling well", Armeleia said. "I should sit down."
"I'm going to get Lisa", Zoe said, trying to remain composed while Armeleia collapsed in a chair.
He found a mysterious box.
There was a funny collectible inside. He was so happy with his find and rushed back home.
But back at the house things were not alright.
"Mum, Zoe says you're feeling unwell. Should I go make some tea for you?"
"I'm just going to lie down for a bit", Armeleia mumbled.
"Yes, that's a good idea", Zoe and Lisa both agreed.
"Mum!" Lisa screamed as Armeleia collapsed on the floor.
"No, no, no!"
"Please spare her! Please let her live, Grim!"
"Gah, it's Mr Reaper and no, I already filled up my quota of mercy today. Sorry."
And so, Armeleia was gone.
"Zoe, I'm so sorry", Lisa said.
"Um, yeah...don't mind me, I'll show myself to the door", Grim whispered.
As he left, a heavy silence fell on the house.
