A small problem with coffehouses

Has anyone have this problem? Not a big problem but still strange! When my Sims go to a coffehouse there is always a bartender sitting at a table doing nothing. This Sim will not serve coffee. It is like there is always someone who finishes its shift. Then, about a minute after my Sim has arrived a new bartender will arrive and start serving coffees and things to eat. But the first bartender will not leave. He will stay there all the time, drinking coffee and chatting with everyone.

Does this occur in every cafe ? Does it occur in a new save game also?
Try starting a new save game and test to see if the same thing occurs in that new save game also.

I have a persistent barista in my save file. She shows up to every single cafe to serve coffee, even if a barista is there already. The barista that is there already will defer to her and then sit around the cafe as if they are still active but they dont do anything while the persistent barista, who is in normal clothes by the way, serves all of the customers. She is fast and cute so I have ignored the oddity for the most part. Something is clearly corrupted in that save file though.

Perhaps it may be best to go into manage households and either delete the extra barista , or move her into a house in the world and play her, which may stop her coming to the cafes.

@rosemow The problem is in every cafe. It has been there for sometime. This week I have desinstalled and reinstalled the game because of of my problems with some venues and the problem with cafes is still there.

Is it always the same bar tender or a different one? If it is the same one, perhaps you could do what I suggested in the above post

Yes @Rosemow. It was happening before I réinstalled the game and also in my new save game.

It may just be a part of your game that the previous barista remains. If the new barista still does his work and the other barista doesn't stop him from doing it then it would be okay. There is an issue if the new barista is prevented from doing his work.

This is why I stated that it is a small problem @rosemow . The new barista, when he arrives, does do his job. Bu7t I wanted to know if others havec encountered the same situation in their game.

Hi,
I did encounter similar situation, but it doesn't happen every time and it doesn't bother me. It seems that baristas change shifts when their needs are in the red (I.e., tired, hungry, bladder-failure) and will be replaced by new ones. At the time, both people have the barista uniform on but only one of them is the actual barista on the clock. The one on the previous shift will then fulfill their needs (if the lot provides means to) or leave.
To know who's the real barista, simply hover your cursor to either one; the real one should have "barista" above his/her name.

Thanks a lot @Simmer_chiyen for your return. In my game, though the first barista does not seem to have any needs. He just sits at a table and chats with customers while the real barista does serve coffees and pastrys.

Shift change usually happens in my game no matter which save etc., when my Sims arrive. No matter where it is or what café. I may be reaching to click on a bartender when my Sims arrive and poof, they step from behind the counter and I have to wait on a new one to show up. Same thing in cafes, it's always shift ending in my game when Sims arrive somewhere. This has been happening in my game since about Dec. patch.

Same - except the person that takes over in my save was the same chick every where I sent my sim lol

I pretend she is the owner of all the coffee shops in the simiverse.

Actually that may be better as this was how it was before they introduced 'any Sim can take a job without any skill' patch, because Bob Pancakes was always my bartender no matter where my Sims went before they made townies get all the jobs. Now, it's any Sim at shift change with no skills at all. At least this lady may have some skills if she works that often. I really hated when they change it (months ago) because Bob was a very good bartender and the rest drop things, I never get the drinks etc.

Oh she does have the mad barista skills and she is pleasant to look at so its one of those things that make you go hmmmm and then you move on. Its just weird that she shows up in plain clothes and whoever is there manning the station will sit down if this occurs after the initial shift change, so I may see a total of three acting baristas in the first five minutes. I guess she just needs to show them all how its done proper. You go barista girl!
