Objects On Tiles Suddenly Become Glitched

I've been having this issue since immediately after the last patch and never encountered it until then. I have the bed sharing issue as well, but this is something different. An item such as a stove, shower, dishwasher, fridge, and couch (those are all the ones I've had so far) ends up having a route failure. There is no rhyme or reason as to when it happens, but moving the item to another place makes it work again. I had it with one save and started another last night and the glitches started happening again. If I swap the bugged item in place of something else, the item I put in its place has a routing failure, so it's the tile/square itself that seems to be the issue, not the items on it.

I thought perhaps the update installation was bugged the first time as it was stuck on installing when I patched, but I did a game repair before starting the new save and it makes no difference. The problem still remains. It's becoming a pain because I don't particularly like having to rearrange an entire room every time it happens.

Is it a particular place in a particular room where this issue is occurring?
Are there items nearby that have been placed there using the moo cheat? That can cause issues.

In both saves, the fridge was in the corner of the kitchen. Then there was the one in the living room and a sofa, and the most recent one I just had was a shower. I swapped the sink's spot for the shower's, then the shower worked but the sink didn't. They were both houses I built myself, so it wasn't an EA home or one downloaded from the gallery. I tend to build my houses as I go along. So they were different homes, with different layouts. I never had this issue at all until this patch and it seems to occur every few game weeks.

I am sorry that you are having these issues. It may work better to not have the fridge in the corner of the kitchens in the homes that your sims live in.
You may need to keep moving items around, like you are currently doing, when there are routing issues, to fix the issues.
When it happens, see if there are other items nearby that may have perhaps caused the issue. Placing items using moo cheat can sometimes cause problems.

No, I didn't use the moo cheat. One little bit of new info was that I just loaded the save real quick one last time before bed and noticed that the glitched bathroom tile was fine and I could use the sink again. So I guess exiting the game and reloading is another solution, rather than having to rearrange the rooms. Still, odd that it happened right after this last update and not before.

It is good that exiting the game and reloading helped the issue. If it happens again, try having your sim travel to another lot and back , then see if that helps to fix the issue.

Sometimes it's happened to me too. It doesn't matter if old or reset game. No mods. This bug appears sometimes random house and random place, sometimes with the bath objects or kitchen objects. With last update, even move objects in other places doesn't fix it at all. Sometimes reload or travel fix it.

I am sorry that you also are having this issue. As you said, some workarounds are either traveling to another lot or coming out of the game and going back in again.

It sounds like this bug would be a good one to post about over on AHQ. However, it would be really helpful if you can figure out a way to duplicate it on demand - that will assist the devs in getting to the bottom of the problem more quickly. Is there anything you have noticed during gameplay that seems to trigger the problem? Like having the sim do one thing before the other, and then they can't use the object? Or going to build mode and buying something new, and then they can't use it? Look for some pattern like this, and if you find one, include it in your post.

I wish I could duplicate it on demand, but there seems to be no rhyme or reason as to when or how it happens and so far I've had it happen in a kitchen, a bathroom, and a living room. The first save was mom and child with housemate, second household was 2 housemates. In both cases they were either getting ready for work or had just gotten home from work and their needs were low.

The items that got glitched were not new, they were placed at the time I started the household, each time I'd been several game weeks in. It's more or less that I try sending them to the fridge, only to see a route fail. I check and see if anything is blocking them, such as a bowl, puddle, or some other object first. If I place a new item on the glitched tile, it doesn't work either, but the tile is no longer glitched if I exit and reload (as I discovered last night). And I guess leaving the lot and returning works as well.

I will post over on AHQ, I'll try a new save later with just one sim to make it easier to see if there's any pattern to the glitch.

Lucky for me, the problem showed up on the morning of Day 2 with my new save. She had leftover fruitcake from the Welcome Wagon and was unable to get it from the fridge the next morning. I clicked both autosolve as well as selecting the leftovers, both resulted in failure. I took screenshots this time, two different icons appeared for the route fail. And this time I used one of the starter homes in Willow Creek, not one of my own.

Thankyou for testing and for posting the pictures. Had she until that time, been able to access the fridge and have no issues? Was the issue resolved by either traveling to another lot, or by reloading the game?

No, she hadn't gone near the fridge because she'd eaten some of the fruit cake when the Welcome Wagon came and I put the leftovers in the fridge. I sent her to bed, so that was first time she went near the fridge.

I backed out of the save and am going to reload to see if it's working again. If it happens with another object I'll try it with leaving the lot and returning. It's so close to her work time I thought it was easier to exit and reload so she had time to grab something to eat before work than to travel somewhere and back. I wasn't expecting it to happen so soon. The other times, it had been several weeks in before it happened.

Going to try and gather as much info as possible and open a bug thread at AHQ.

I can confirm that leaving the lot and returning fixes the glitched tile as well. I just had it again with the shower on the Friday before week 2.



I'll go ahead and open a thread over at AHQ in a bit because this glitch is a total pain as it's not ideal to have to exit and reload or leave the lot and return every time it happens. I usually like playing large households and no way is that a possibility with this going on.

I hope I remembered everything and explained it ok. I did have a modded game when I first noticed the problem, but the household I'm playing right now with pink haired Dee is not modded. So I needed to rule mods out first before posting and now that I have, here's hoping there's a solution rather than a workaround.
