That's a little bit frustrating that Stephen has a different last name than his own parents. Especially since you can't go back further than his mother.
I was under the impression that if a child had a different parent, instead of the parent's current spouse, that it would not show the child as belonging to those two people. Do you know what I mean? There would be an offshoot from the tree showing that the mother had this child with this other man? Because as you said, that would be the normal reason for him to have a different last name, but the way it is now, there's no way for you to know.
That's the kind of family tree stuff that I am not sure about, and I don't have any generations going back far enough to show anything. In fact, the fact that Johnny Zest does not show up on the Landgraab family tree annoys me also.

I think I make it very complicated because I always bring a huge group. And they all have to get hazmat suits and spore filters and enough of the vaccine to vaccinate themselves and fight the mother. So instead of having one Strangerville hero I end up with 6. This is the second time I've done that LOL. But, I'm purposely trying to write mine to be a bit different than the reality, just in case there's anyone who doesn't want to see the exact people that you get things from, and places where you learn your facts. I'm just having them bypass any of the actual "hands on" work of searching for things in the story as I write it. 😂 Sadly, in the game, you still have to actually go through all the work. Oh Lord, the hours I have spent standing there making vaccines, and configuring spore info for 6 spore filters 😅
Yeah, I'm glad I don't have to worry about potions of youth 😅 I don't know that I've ever even looked at what they take to make them.
Although I have never played a game with aging on, and now I am. It's going to be interesting. I may very well need to take Ian and Lawrence out of the game, because I won't be able to watch them die 😥

You can see his dead halfbrother off to the side (just like you said it should be)- his mother was married to the half brothers father first, he died and then she married Stefan's father I think based on the fact that the halfbrother has Stefan's fathers surname and is older than stefan.'(you can see Mr Shook and his mum were still married at her death so why Stefan is a Landgraab I dont know) His mother has 3 other kids to men she didn't marry. (they show up if I make her the main sim for the family tree) But no landgraabs anywhere. The blank heads are already culled from the game.
As to your general questions- I haven't used cheats lately so not sure if they are working.
The swim diapers were in the last big patch before IL I think because my sims have them and I don't have IL.
Jealous sims - Bondi is a jealous sim -she gets the tense moodlet on and off but she has so much going on in her life it is buried under so many other moodlets. Compared to every other emotion it isnt very strong although by itself it is. Keep your sim busy and experiencing lots of things and you dont notice it. Marrying a sweetheart like Stefan helps. (as does liberal woohoo). I love playing Bondi (come to think of it Beatrix was as well but she never ever got the moodlet so I totally forgot about it). Bondi's lone wolf trait is more annoying than the jealous trait. She doesn't like public lots, parties, people doing walkbys etc etc etc
I cant help with the family relationships. My game had some kind of burp after Adam died and it erased Gordon and Adam from each others family trees and any record of their marriage. Heartbreaking. Normally you can fix these things with MCCC but it wouldn't let me because they were dead
I totally feel your pain over Lawrence and Rose. And I have always struggled with fixing things in manage households like your toddler story.
Come to think of it the family tree burp could explain the mystery Landgraab missing from Stefan's story too.
@Karababy52 I don't have the vampire pack - I enjoy watching other people's vampires without worrying about my own sims. I just know I don't like or trust Vlad. When I started in the thread I didn't know anyones stories'/families/sims either. But it soon becomes addictive.

@AlwaysAsking Actually, the potion of youth is an aspiration reward. It costs 1500 points. I couldn't keep up if I had to craft them, I'm sure!
Usually for sims I've been playing from birth I have no problem having enough points by the time they're young adults to buy one for them and one for their spouse that I didn't play until they got married. After that they usually can afford the rest easily, unless I'm really mean to that sim for some reason.
Do you back up your saves to another folder? As for your question about removing saves, what I do is just move the save file into my backup folder instead of copying it. That way if I ever want it back I just copy it back into the saves folder that the game uses. As long as you know which save is which it's a quick way to reduce the clutter without deleting anything permanently.
I will find out about the jealous trait, because Finnian has it. So far, he woke up every morning tense while he and Morgan were dating but not living together, but it did get overpowered by other moodlets a lot so it didn't bother me. I haven't been back in that house since the wedding so I have yet to see how married life with a jealous spouse will go.

There is no set standard about commenting, we all just do what we can. No one can comment on everything in this thread at the rate it moves! (Though AlwaysAsking puts in a valiant effort). We appreciate likes and awesomes to let us know people are reading though. I like to try and make comment posts every so often and get to as many of the recent posts as I can because I know it feels nice to have my posts commented on and want to contribute to that atmosphere, but it doesn't happen every week, much less every day.

One of my sims had a family gathering at the beach and his new girlfriend showed up at the same beach by coincendence which already made me happy cause the family did not know her yet.
I had my sim call his gf over and than started talking her up to each familymember, I never used that social before while the sims I was talking up was actually there, it was sooo cute first of all his gf cheered everytime he talked her up (and there was a littel thoughtbubble showing his face while she did that), second you know if you talk a sim up to another they will say something like "oh, I really like to meet her/him" and they did so immidiatly! Like a second after he talked her up I saw them talking to her with a thumbs up thoughtbubble and after that they talked to him and said she is great.
I just never did this before and I so love it, it was the perfect (unplanned) introduction of his gf to the family

Julianna is currently living with her girlfriend, Isabella Fabulous, Izzy Fabulous and Candy Behr's daughter.

While Andres was working with his Marine Biology job, Kai brought the girls to Mau Pel'am, where Leilani and Selena had tons of fun making sand castles and playing in the water.

Leilani is fully aware of her Papa being a merman and wanted to learn how to swim better just like him.

He changes from being great to being miserable without even having a proper reason for that. I have a bad feeling about him. He is also possessive. But then you see his abs and forget everything what is bad about him! It is so dangerous.

Its New Years day today. The guys decided to take it easy for the most part.
Brothers Vincent and Griffin had been gathering intel on the accident at the science lab in the crater. Unknown to them, their activities were being monitored by MIB counteragent Bjorn Bjergsen who was in covert operations. He decided to join their adventure and called his good friend Clint Fontenot, an alien astronaut to come along. Clint was an expert on alien technology and may come in handy.
Vincent complains about his lack of a girlfriend. Its just so hard to meet people around here!
Griff decides to spend some time listening on microphone chips he had planted on several locals

Meanwhile in Forgotten Hollow
All is quiet in Forgotten Hollow. Its deep night and snowing.
An ominous cloud forms at the front door of Straud Mansion. The mist parts to reveal the form of Count Vladislaus Straud the IV.
He is clutching a tiny and precious bundle.
Vlad has lived in Forgotten Hollow for nearly 200 years. He is a Grand Master Vampire and ruler of the town. All vampires and even humans steer clear of him out of awe and respect to his power. Vlad makes his way through the front hall
All is quiet. Mistress Kat and Mistress Hell, his vampiric creations are asleep in the upper levels of the mansion after a long night hunting. His eldest and illegitimate son and heir, Marcus Crow, was away in Magnolia Promenade managing the family store. The Family must have a source of income. Vlad passes by his two teenage daughters by the Countess, Lady Isla and Lady Laila quietly reading their novels by the fire.
They raise their heads and watch him curiously as he passes by.
Vlad makes his way downstairs to the lower levels. As he reaches the bottom of the treacherous stairs he can already smell the salt air.
He makes his way to the door of the Countess's lair. He opens the door. The brine pool odor is much stronger here. Vlad had the pool lovingly installed for his wife, who was from a tropical climate. Candle sconces barely provide light in the gloom. He hears a singsong voice echo in the chamber
"Where have you been Vlad?"
He sees a pearly silver form move in the depths of the pool.
"Good evening my treasure!" he squeaks.
She eyed him coolly
"Vlad where have you been and what is that?" With a twirl, her fins disappear and she regains her human form. Countess Kalama-ainu pulls herself out of the water.
"You look positively radiant this evening my dear!" He begs.
She points to the object that had lept from his arms.
Vlad explains
"I had traveled to Brindleton Bay visiting a house I had not been to before.
"There was a curiously dressed young maiden living there, I partook of her plasma"
"She had a number of cats. All were hungry so I fed them."
"As I was leaving, I saw this tiny bald kitten all by himself out in the cold!"
"I offered my hand in greeting and he came to me"

The night before, The Sims world said goodbye to two of the three heroes that saved Strangerville. That's right, Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Which is even sadder knowing that Arnold just found love (With Abraham's sister) and just had his first child. These heroes will never be forgotten.
Well anyways, time for Gunnar to go off to work.
Great thing about dating a vampire? You only have to cook for yourself.
Gunnar: "Alright, now that I'm home from work I can finally mourn for my weird Uncles."

Speaking of living, Luz is doing a pretty bad job at being alive due to her slowly burning to death here.
Finally, instead of watching all my Sims die I finally have the chance to save one!

Gunnar realized he already has two girlfriends......so he thought "Eh, those are rookie numbers anyways." It's probably going to be some Sim who looks like a total lonely cat lady.
Oh.....I was 100% right.....a lonely cat lady....who is at least twice Gunnar's age.
Well, Gunnar's already out here and when's the game ever going to send him on a blind date again? Nice thing is, she was already into him so she just kind of melted in his hand.
Also, it was prank day.
It didn't ruin Gunnar's flirty mood though.

Bruce is an odd one. He has worked his entire life behind a bar making drinks, for others to enjoy but you wouldn't think him to be a snob, but he is. When he gets the chance to get home, he doesn't care what Jeri wears as long as the two of them get it on whenever they can. when he does get a few days off and he is with Jeri, he's the type to enjoy the show and later when Jeri is showing signs being "active", it gets Bruce's motor going and the two of them got to work it out, more often than not in a bush or elsewhere. Bruce has a lot of catching up to do with his often lonely wife who fills the time being something of a terror to others. Unfortunately for both Jeri and Bruce, they are on their way to becoming elders now. Jeri is considering wearing less revealing clothes as the ominous old age looms.
I'm in the process of building up an introduction for Bruce and then the elders: Jason, Alice, Geraldine and her husband, Roger who are the parents to Jeri and Bruce.
@DoodlyDoofus Thankyou for the laugh. My sims always turn down their blind dates because by the time they earn them, they are usually middle aged with a ton of kids. The look on her face when he kissed her made my day (as did his initial face coming out of the bush.) The devil guitar singing and the neighbours comments were close seconds in my favourite things in your post.

That's a little bit frustrating that Stephen has a different last name than his own parents. Especially since you can't go back further than his mother.
I was under the impression that if a child had a different parent, instead of the parent's current spouse, that it would not show the child as belonging to those two people. Do you know what I mean? There would be an offshoot from the tree showing that the mother had this child with this other man? Because as you said, that would be the normal reason for him to have a different last name, but the way it is now, there's no way for you to know.
That's the kind of family tree stuff that I am not sure about, and I don't have any generations going back far enough to show anything. In fact, the fact that Johnny Zest does not show up on the Landgraab family tree annoys me also.

I think I make it very complicated because I always bring a huge group. And they all have to get hazmat suits and spore filters and enough of the vaccine to vaccinate themselves and fight the mother. So instead of having one Strangerville hero I end up with 6. This is the second time I've done that LOL. But, I'm purposely trying to write mine to be a bit different than the reality, just in case there's anyone who doesn't want to see the exact people that you get things from, and places where you learn your facts. I'm just having them bypass any of the actual "hands on" work of searching for things in the story as I write it. 😂 Sadly, in the game, you still have to actually go through all the work. Oh Lord, the hours I have spent standing there making vaccines, and configuring spore info for 6 spore filters 😅

You can see his dead halfbrother off to the side (just like you said it should be)- his mother was married to the half brothers father first, he died and then she married Stefan's father I think based on the fact that the halfbrother has Stefan's fathers surname and is older than stefan.'(you can see Mr Shook and his mum were still married at her death so why Stefan is a Landgraab I dont know) His mother has 3 other kids to men she didn't marry. (they show up if I make her the main sim for the family tree) But no landgraabs anywhere. The blank heads are already culled from the game.
As to your general questions- I haven't used cheats lately so not sure if they are working.
The swim diapers were in the last big patch before IL I think because my sims have them and I don't have IL.
Jealous sims - Bondi is a jealous sim -she gets the tense moodlet on and off but she has so much going on in her life it is buried under so many other moodlets. Compared to every other emotion it isnt very strong although by itself it is. Keep your sim busy and experiencing lots of things and you dont notice it. Marrying a sweetheart like Stefan helps. (as does liberal woohoo). I love playing Bondi (come to think of it Beatrix was as well but she never ever got the moodlet so I totally forgot about it). Bondi's lone wolf trait is more annoying than the jealous trait. She doesn't like public lots, parties, people doing walkbys etc etc etc
I cant help with the family relationships. My game had some kind of burp after Adam died and it erased Gordon and Adam from each others family trees and any record of their marriage. Heartbreaking. Normally you can fix these things with MCCC but it wouldn't let me because they were dead
I totally feel your pain over Lawrence and Rose. And I have always struggled with fixing things in manage households like your toddler story.
Come to think of it the family tree burp could explain the mystery Landgraab missing from Stefan's story too.
@Karababy52 I don't have the vampire pack - I enjoy watching other people's vampires without worrying about my own sims. I just know I don't like or trust Vlad. When I started in the thread I didn't know anyones stories'/families/sims either. But it soon becomes addictive.

Sage, Pepper and Saffron. I chose these names because I have recently finished a book named Storyteller written by Jodi Picoult. It was a very nice book and if you have nothing to read definitely go for this one. It is a very beautiful story.

Usually for sims I've been playing from birth I have no problem having enough points by the time they're young adults to buy one for them and one for their spouse that I didn't play until they got married. After that they usually can afford the rest easily, unless I'm really mean to that sim for some reason.
Do you back up your saves to another folder? As for your question about removing saves, what I do is just move the save file into my backup folder instead of copying it. That way if I ever want it back I just copy it back into the saves folder that the game uses. As long as you know which save is which it's a quick way to reduce the clutter without deleting anything permanently.
I will find out about the jealous trait, because Finnian has it. So far, he woke up every morning tense while he and Morgan were dating but not living together, but it did get overpowered by other moodlets a lot so it didn't bother me. I haven't been back in that house since the wedding so I have yet to see how married life with a jealous spouse will go.

There is no set standard about commenting, we all just do what we can. No one can comment on everything in this thread at the rate it moves! (Though AlwaysAsking puts in a valiant effort). We appreciate likes and awesomes to let us know people are reading though. I like to try and make comment posts every so often and get to as many of the recent posts as I can because I know it feels nice to have my posts commented on and want to contribute to that atmosphere, but it doesn't happen every week, much less every day.

I had my sim call his gf over and than started talking her up to each familymember, I never used that social before while the sims I was talking up was actually there, it was sooo cute first of all his gf cheered everytime he talked her up (and there was a littel thoughtbubble showing his face while she did that), second you know if you talk a sim up to another they will say something like "oh, I really like to meet her/him" and they did so immidiatly! Like a second after he talked her up I saw them talking to her with a thumbs up thoughtbubble and after that they talked to him and said she is great.
I just never did this before and I so love it, it was the perfect (unplanned) introduction of his gf to the family

It wasn't too long for Leilani's birthday, and she had aged up into a child. The first thing she does is play fetch with Maui.

Julianna is currently living with her girlfriend, Isabella Fabulous, Izzy Fabulous and Candy Behr's daughter.

While Andres was working with his Marine Biology job, Kai brought the girls to Mau Pel'am, where Leilani and Selena had tons of fun making sand castles and playing in the water.
Kai decided to take Andres somewhere to take a break from working.

Leilani is fully aware of her Papa being a merman and wanted to learn how to swim better just like him.

Yeah he does lol, I made over Vlad a long time ago he still is a bit popular I just gave him a cc hair. I'm not gonna say much there secrets and all hehe it wasn't so much that she knew him as there was an attraction as she's emotionally innocent to say the least. Vlad is both hopeless and yet not a lost cause he would have seen her move in as Caleb came out after he still has some gentleman in him and will get her home safely.

Its New Years day today. The guys decided to take it easy for the most part.
Brothers Vincent and Griffin had been gathering intel on the accident at the science lab in the crater. Unknown to them, their activities were being monitored by MIB counteragent Bjorn Bjergsen who was in covert operations. He decided to join their adventure and called his good friend Clint Fontenot, an alien astronaut to come along. Clint was an expert on alien technology and may come in handy.
Vincent complains about his lack of a girlfriend. Its just so hard to meet people around here!
Griff decides to spend some time listening on microphone chips he had planted on several locals

Meanwhile in Forgotten Hollow
All is quiet in Forgotten Hollow. Its deep night and snowing.
An ominous cloud forms at the front door of Straud Mansion. The mist parts to reveal the form of Count Vladislaus Straud the IV.
He is clutching a tiny and precious bundle.
Vlad has lived in Forgotten Hollow for nearly 200 years. He is a Grand Master Vampire and ruler of the town. All vampires and even humans steer clear of him out of awe and respect to his power. Vlad makes his way through the front hall
All is quiet. Mistress Kat and Mistress Hell, his vampiric creations are asleep in the upper levels of the mansion after a long night hunting. His eldest and illegitimate son and heir, Marcus Crow, was away in Magnolia Promenade managing the family store. The Family must have a source of income. Vlad passes by his two teenage daughters by the Countess, Lady Isla and Lady Laila quietly reading their novels by the fire.
They raise their heads and watch him curiously as he passes by.
Vlad makes his way downstairs to the lower levels. As he reaches the bottom of the treacherous stairs he can already smell the salt air.
He makes his way to the door of the Countess's lair. He opens the door. The brine pool odor is much stronger here. Vlad had the pool lovingly installed for his wife, who was from a tropical climate. Candle sconces barely provide light in the gloom. He hears a singsong voice echo in the chamber
"Where have you been Vlad?"
He sees a pearly silver form move in the depths of the pool.
"Good evening my treasure!" he squeaks.
She eyed him coolly
"Vlad where have you been and what is that?" With a twirl, her fins disappear and she regains her human form. Countess Kalama-ainu pulls herself out of the water.
"You look positively radiant this evening my dear!" He begs.
She points to the object that had lept from his arms.
Vlad explains
"I had traveled to Brindleton Bay visiting a house I had not been to before.
"There was a curiously dressed young maiden living there, I partook of her plasma"
"She had a number of cats. All were hungry so I fed them."
"As I was leaving, I saw this tiny bald kitten all by himself out in the cold!"
"I offered my hand in greeting and he came to me"
Kitty!
I just had to bring him home
Can we keep him? Please??? Vlad begs
Countess Kallie rolls her eyes and sighs
"Fine"
Vlad cackles. "From this day forth, he shall be know as
Mr. Bigglesworth!!
Anastasia: "Seriously? This is it? I feel like I haven't changed at all!"
Yep, welcome to the Sims 4 baby!
And since Luz is asleep, Gunnar showed Pearl what Luz showed him what they could do in the closet!
The next morning, Gunnar explains to Luz why he hates the sunlight so much....Spoiler alert, it'll kill him.
Gunnar: "Now that's taken care of, let me sooth you with some quality guitar playing."
That's when Abraham came over to tell Gunnar the terrible news. I sure hope you're sitting down because this is some pretty bad news.
The night before, The Sims world said goodbye to two of the three heroes that saved Strangerville. That's right, Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Which is even sadder knowing that Arnold just found love (With Abraham's sister) and just had his first child. These heroes will never be forgotten.
Well anyways, time for Gunnar to go off to work.
Great thing about dating a vampire? You only have to cook for yourself.
Gunnar: "Alright, now that I'm home from work I can finally mourn for my weird Uncles."
He mourns by playing the guitar.
Also, decided that Gunnar finally needed his look updated. I now found one of my favorite outfits...and it's perfect for vampires!
Speaking of updating his looks, UPDATE YOUR BODY MASS GUNNAR! I SAW YOU WITHOUT A SHIRT AND I SAW YOUR RIBCAGE! WORKOUT NOW VAMPIRE BOY!!!
Ah yes, now that his Plasma Fruit tree is finally providing the fruit Gunnar may live!
Speaking of living, Luz is doing a pretty bad job at being alive due to her slowly burning to death here.
Finally, instead of watching all my Sims die I finally have the chance to save one!
And voila, he saved Luz.
Gunnar: "I saved a life instead of just draining said life of their blood! I'm a hero! I gotta tell somebody!"
Gunnar: "HEY WORLD! I JUST SAVED MY GIRLFRIEND'S LIFE!"
Neighbor: "Up yours buddy!"
Neighbor 2: "You shoulda let her burn! You'll understand what I mean in 15 years, boy."
Pearl: "Wait, you saved my life?"
Luz was appreciative of it.
Very appreciative.
Well time to serenade her with this lovely guitar music from hell.
Devil's Guitars: "THE FLAME OF HELL AND DARKNESS WILL BE YOUR WINGMAN IN GETTING LAID TONIGHT. BUT TOMORROW THE BLOOD WILL SPILL!"
That's when Gunnar stepped outside and found out what it felt like to be Luz.
Suddenly.....Luz's sister......Yeah.....Her sister.....Decided to set Gunnar up on a blind date with someone 'who was too shy to talk to him' (actual feature in Sims 4 Get Famous...). Gunnar realized he already has two girlfriends......so he thought "Eh, those are rookie numbers anyways." It's probably going to be some Sim who looks like a total lonely cat lady.
Oh.....I was 100% right.....a lonely cat lady....who is at least twice Gunnar's age.
Well, Gunnar's already out here and when's the game ever going to send him on a blind date again? Nice thing is, she was already into him so she just kind of melted in his hand.
Also, it was prank day.
It didn't ruin Gunnar's flirty mood though.
Crazy Cat Lady's inner thoughts: "OMG He's kissing me!!!"
That's when they went in that bush.
Gunnar: "Well that wasn't the worst date I've been on."
Crazy Cat Lady: "I'll say."
Gunnar: "Well this is going to be hard to explain."

Wow! This was so funny but cute at once! I totally didn't expect Count Vladislaus Straud the IV. was going to feed the cats and then take one home
Bruce is an odd one. He has worked his entire life behind a bar making drinks, for others to enjoy but you wouldn't think him to be a snob, but he is. When he gets the chance to get home, he doesn't care what Jeri wears as long as the two of them get it on whenever they can. when he does get a few days off and he is with Jeri, he's the type to enjoy the show and later when Jeri is showing signs being "active", it gets Bruce's motor going and the two of them got to work it out, more often than not in a bush or elsewhere. Bruce has a lot of catching up to do with his often lonely wife who fills the time being something of a terror to others. Unfortunately for both Jeri and Bruce, they are on their way to becoming elders now. Jeri is considering wearing less revealing clothes as the ominous old age looms.
I'm in the process of building up an introduction for Bruce and then the elders: Jason, Alice, Geraldine and her husband, Roger who are the parents to Jeri and Bruce.
@Doloresgrey when Johnny and Eliza renewed their vows in the snow - I almost thought you were going to mess with us and freeze him again!
@Hoverael Thanks for the great background and introductions to your sims. It really helps understanding them. That was one "cheeky" outfit your sim chose.
@sarabeth2984 yay someone using Bjorn in their stories - besides Johnny (who is always the best) - Bjorn is my favourite, he has so much quirky personality. Your Vlad is also very attractive - I now feel inner conflict thinking that.
@O-meezy Talia is an adorable toddler and Zion seems to be a fun Dad. At least Avery is responsible enough for everyone.
@AngeliqueAdelaide Damon is stunning. I love his colouring. I am glad your sim finally got a child that matched her own colouring. It was worth it.
@Steamvarius I forgot to say how much I loved Roddy's conversation with the sad NPC - who was sad because people couldn't pronounce his name etc. It was funny because it is such an NPC problem and he was so lucky to run into one of your nice and upbeat sims.
