It's a big day for the Briggs family... NO MORE INFANTS! Thank God
Sapphire is a Charmer and Violet is Independent. Saffie got Top Notch Infant, whilst Vivi got Happy Infant (which is unsurprising given her intense-ness...) Now they'll both go off to preschool during the week, so they'll spend time out of the house, giving William and Barbara a thoroughly-deserved rest!! It's nearly Primrose's birthday too, so that'll be fun to have another child in the family.
Here is yesterdays update from the Kyleson household (my Aspiration Challenge save).
Jenna was in her last term at uni when she remembered that she hadn't tried to join this secret society she had heard rumours about. She left an offering of a rare metal and hoped for the best.
Millie was aproaching the end of her time at High School but she hadn't yet been to a prom. This family has an incredibly packed schedule and she hasns't yet had time to actually attend a Prom. She couldn't believe that on her first Prom she was voted Prom Royalty. Millie, Karl, Freddy and a group of friends went to the pier after the prom to celebrate.
The kids didn't get home until the rest of the family were almost waking up. Millie set straight to work baking because it was now Father's Day and the children wanted to treat Kyle to a nice home-cooked meal. She didn't want to take her dress off but I am not sure that baking goods and pretty dresses are a good mix!
Jenna went to her first Order of Enchantment meeting to pay offerings to the Sprites. Unfortunately it will probably be her last meeting as she is now so close to graduating. She will be coming back to uni because she plans on eventually completing all the distinguished degrees so she will have time to work on her ranking in the Order in the future.
Jenna graduated from Foxbury University with a Distinguished Degree in Fine Art. One down, many more to go. She is going to have a break from uni for now and concentrate on the Freelance Style Influencer career on the Trend Setter path. Unfortunately she couldn't get her sketch pad to work properly so she isn't so sure how this will affect her job. I guess time will tell.
So, that is where I left them last night. I wonder what today will hold in store for them. With Jenna's new job, Millie about to start uni and the boys working hard at school there are lots of changes to come. Meanwhile, poor Kyle stays in the background but he has worked hard to keep the family on track whilst Jenna has been working on her Aspiration Challenge and studying at uni.
Jamison has been born and his Daddy is now up for his eighth Best Song Accolade. With the Accolades occurring every blessed week, this is where my timeline will get distorted. Since Jamison will still be a newborn, (he was born on Tuesday of the week) by the time Erik attends the next Show I was looking at the last three installments I made. It may be that I'll have to remove those posts, or possibly edit them a tad to reflect where the timeline is, currently. I play on Long, and Jamison will be a newborn until he's about six game days old. Then he's an infant for seventeen game days, so you can see my problem with the timeline. If I do remove a chapter, it will be replaced or added back at a later date, possibly. Just a little heads up, so nobody has to worry. I'm here, I'm okay, exhausted, but okay. Pascha (Easter) was glorious, but I was up very late, or should I say very early. Didn't get to bed until 2 AM Sunday morning.
So, I figured I'd play a little Sims last night and see if anything exciting happened. And it did! Within a few minutes of loading in the game Greg just came barging into my Sims' house.... Although he didn't fight Buster... Maybe it was because of the toddler that was standing right there.
Not only did Greg make an appearance (without me having to go search for him) but also Rory as well.... Here's Greg and Rory having a conversation in the downstairs bathroom...
I was actually shocked because I was not expecting that... As soon as it happened, I signed off... That was the most exciting thing to happen in my game the whole time

What the..? The tiny plant was causing routing issues, this game sometimes 😆 At least you were able to resolve it and not forced to give up on a great desk area.
P.1148 Your builds turning out nicely to resemble the one from SimCity 3000.To create chimneys some players just use 2x1 room and add half walls at the top for its end. Then sometimes a chimney item from the roof decor.
@BlueSeaWaves I know, this game is crazy sometimes. There are two slots either side of the computer at the front and if you put any decoration in one of them the stairs stop working. Now I'm really happy I only put one object there. It made it easy to figure out at least.🤣
Thank you @BlueSeaWaves So far. so far, so good. I may just wait until Erik wins (should he win) his eighth Best Song Accolade, then I will tweak We Wanted How Many? If I do, I will remove it from its old page and post it again. Much will be removed, too, since Jamison won't have grown into an Infant by then. Then at a later point, I can revise that other portion to match the gameplay, anew.
So I noticed a little glitch with Saffie. Every time I clicked on her (to play as her), the Simology icon would display the "new milestone achieved" thing. After googling, it seems to be a known glitch. Basically, if your infant achieves a milestone and you don't check the Simology panel/milestones section, and you then age up the infant without this checking, the game will constantly act as though you've just unlocked the milestone. For me, the milestone was "Pulled to Stand" which I checked in the infants milestone section (as Saffie is a toddler). There was a star by the icon, as though it had just been achieved. If I played as another family member and then went back to Saffie, it was still showing as new. What worked for me was removing the milestone using Lumpinou's Milestone Cheats mod, and then adding it back.

Essentially, when your infant achieves a milestone, be sure to check the Simology/milestones panel. Or there could be glitches when your infant ages up! I'm not sure if it affects other ages though.
It's always satisfying when you get some sort of glitch that you can't figure out, and then find a solution!
Anyway, now that Primrose is a child, I'm going back to the Mastersons who I haven't played in two months, poor things! Primrose getting her groove on:

Here is yestereday's update from Kyleson household/Aspiration Challenge. It is a big one so make sure you grab a drink and a snack. I will be making good use of the spoiler tabs to reduce the space.
When we left the Kylesons yesterday Jenna had just graduated from Foxbury uni with a distinguished degree in Fine Art. She got herself a job in the Style Influencer career in the Trend Setter branch. I haven't played this career before so this is quite exciting. I'm not sure what was going through Jenna's head when she decided on this outfit for her first day at work. The person walking past her on the street is obviously keeping her head down so that Jenna can't see her laughing!!
Millie and Freddy had aged up to adults and were both waiting for their university applications to be approved. They had been a couple since they first laid eyes on each other at the start of High School. Millie knew that her Mum needed to have a married child and grandchildren for her family aspirations. She decided that the time was right to propose to Freddy and he was very keen to say yes. They wasted no time at all in getting married. There were no pretty dresses or wedding speeches just a quick change of vows infront of the front door.
After the party the adults got together for a serious talk. Jenna needed grandchildren for one of her family aspirations but she would never want to put pressure on any of her children. Millie and Freddy, however, are very keen to start a family but they would ideally have waited to get their degrees first. Kyle had an idea. He spent all his three adulthoods (he has used several Potion of Youths to age down) bringing up his children whilst Jenna concentrated on her Aspiration Challenge. He had gained the Family Aspiration trait and he was very excited about the prospect of looking after a grandchild. Kyle suggested that if Millie and Freddy wanted to start a family then he would happily look after his grandchild whilst Millie and Freddy concentrated on their degrees. Millie and Freddy said they would talk things over but they weren't jumping into it like they did with marriage.
A few days later youngest child Kai celebrated his birthday and became a teen. He is a very quiet child and unfortunately he often gets looked-over in this party-loving busy household. His traits are Lazy and Good. He is very excited about joining his big brother at Copperdale High.
It was now Harvestfest and the Kyleson's threw another party to celebrate. This time it was a family reunion because Jenna had heard that you could receive some cool photoframes as a reward for throwing a successful party. The family decided it was a good opportunity to take lots of photos. Karl had invited his new girlfriend Christie Sigworth who's family is a neighbour of his grandparents in Strangerville. His Mum and Christie's Mum had been very good friends for a long time and as the children had grown up together Karl and Christie had grown closer.
The family meal turned into it's usual chaos when everyone refused to sit down to eat and prefered to all gather in the corner of the dining room instead!
Whilst the camera was focused elsewhere I suddenly heard the dreaded music that is all to common at one of my Sim parties. Millie had keeled over and was dying from laughter. I probably have more sims dying from laughter than I do old age in my game. As everyone was panicking Jenna tried to keep a level head. She is a keen gardener and remembered that she had given everyone Death Flowers.
This is where I left them and fell asleep. I am quite unwell and bedbound at the moment and my game is on my laptop next to me 24/7 so my Simmies are always there when I need them. I don't know what I would do without them at the moment! Thanks to this forum I am absolutely brimming with ideas for where I want to take this family. I have been simming since the first sims game came out but I have never been so inspired as I am right now and that's thanks to reading the wonderful stories on here. I am hoping there are lots of exciting times ahead for the Kylesons although we all know that quite often our simmies tell their own stories. Millie's near-death experience certainly wasn't planned. I am hoping to bring a couple of the pre-made familys into the story and the genetics. We'll be getting to know the Sigworths and Michaelsons better. I have plans for the Michaelson's new Science Baby, Electra. There are two more pre-mades who will be making an appearance at some point but I'm not 100% sure how yet. One in particular will be a challenge to integrate into the story but I'll manage it somehow. Anyway, that's if for today. Time to play!!

Thanks! I tried something like that after I saw it done on youtube, but it messed up the symmetry of the windows so I decided just to stick the chimney objects in the roof. It was late at night and I was tired, though. My self-sim is continuing to test:

In the last couple of days I've been playing Chloe's daughter Marianne. You may remember that Chloe and Marianne spent a few days in Sulani when Chloe was burned-out from work, and Marianne took to the islands. She developed a fast friendship -- an obsession -- with Nalani, the mermaid from island living, and now they have a little place on the beach together and a few girls. (I let mermaids have babies with anyone using MCC). Marianne first worked as a lifeguard, but then was picked up by the draft and is currently a starter for the Sulani 'Ios (hawks). The older girls, Georgiana and Nalani, are the closest sisters ever and do everything together. The family on the mainland are regular visitors, especially Chloe (who loves that Marianne is getting to have the sports career she couldn't) and Rebecca, Marianne's younger sister.

Interesting @GalacticGal since my infants on the Long lifespan are infants for 20 days which is the EA default. And babyhood lasts 4 days.
I may have miscounted the number of days. I just got the message Jamison has a birthday coming up. He was born on Tuesday of the week, and it is Friday when the message popped up. Also, I may not have checked his Infant age immediately. I only saw he had seventeen days left before he aged up. I will be more careful this go-around.

Grimmy accecpted the flower and resurrected Millie.

@SERVERFRA I'm actually a few years older than you 😄. This song has always been a fave of mine even with the apocalyptic tone/message, though I consider it a warning: take care of the planet or the future will suffer. Is your futuristic storyline in this thread or another? I'll have to check it out.
