Ok, I was wondering - when it says 'each heir must have a career', can running a shop count?
@Thymeless I'll say yes, on the condition that they open the store for business regularly (let's say 4-5 days a week?). The purpose of them having a career is so they have to go somewhere/leave the house so they don't sit around at home skilling all the time And I know that with stores, you can own one but basically never open it for business, right?
So as long as your sim is getting out of the house to work several times a week, I say it stays within the rules
@CitizenErased14 Perfect Thank you! (The shop would be part of the storyline in itself, which is why I wanted to check ^^). It will definitely be open 4 - 5 times a week.
Well, Citizen already noticed, but figured I'd share here that I'm now officially trying this. Here's my story.
My Sims stories: The Fey of Life - fairytales in life are few and far between (Forum thread HERE) The Chrysanthemum Tango - a story about life, death, magic, and how to be a good landlady (Forum thread HERE) Forget-Me-Not - some things just refuse to stay buried; an Ambrosia Challenge story (Forum thread HERE)
Okay I need to put this chapter in here because I am pretty proud about it. If you can read it in German do so. There is an English version too but it loses a bit.
I was wondering, is the heir allowed to start gardening after meeting death, or after they find the guru?
@Thymeless They can only start gardening after meeting the hermit/guru/whatever they are in your story haha
Oops. Ahem... I knew that... *shifty eyes*. Well, luckily my heir has only done very little gardening so far so no harm done.

@RipuAncestor I might have to get Don to bring a supply of plasma fruit when he manages to find Claude - They're expensive if you can't grow them, and the asylum has such stupidly high bills (3000ish simoleons >.<). Still, once he's met death and found the hermit/guru, I'll be able to stop nicking the fruit off his dad =p
Oh, I'm definitely bending rules story-wise. I have the gameplay save and the story saves separated already. Also I think I mostly forgot about the hermit for a moment because I was so glad about finally catching Grim. He was being elusive in my game right when I needed him.

So I finally played the actual challenge. It has been a lot of fun till now. Gabriel just met grimmy. Guess where? At the herb festival. He was making some hot dogs. They chatted while Gabriel was eating too hot curry and played a round basketball. Pictures are in the spoiler.

So I played now through the teenage years of Gabriel. He has now two days left as a teen and has maxed both gardening and herbalism skill. It happened as fast as I wanted it for my story though it will actually take him a bit longer
I was trying to find a new challenge to mess around with since the Vega legacy has been dragging a bit (Reason #3 gil doesn't do legacies : Boredom in the first generation but I'm almost finished with it, so) and my pen-pal project has been making me lose my mind with the awful amount of times I have to change the teens back to toddlers (picture purposes, they were so cute though, so its okay) and I think I'd like to try my hand at this

@CitizenErased14 I wanted to share my Ambrosia Challenge inspired story with you (inspired as it doesn't really follow the rules). I had when I started in March 2017 planned to follow all the rules and play the challenge as intended but life got in the way of said plans and well here we are almost 2 years later. After a year plus and some change of a hiatus my story is a week away from completion.

And when in doubt about the order of how to do things (for challenge purposes), remember the sequence Lucas followed in D2D
