Does anybody still play The Sims 3?

@Magdaleena, I understand that the setup would probably be a royal pain in the rear. :) It would probably involve Totally Annihilating the town in TS3 and repopulating them with what would be descendants of your TS3 Legacy... :) Since TS4 is in the future (some say it's an alternate timeline) you could conceivably do it like that. :) But it would still result in a lot of work. :)

It is an alternate timeline . In the time line ,Sims 3 was first, then Sims 1 ,then Sims 2 . Things haven't really been connected with 1,2,3 to 4. But , it does leave a chance to come up with stories on that .

Guess what... Just got sims 3! Any expansions/mods I should get?
    I did a push-up today!
Well, actually I fell down. But I had to use my arms to get back up so...you know, close enough.

Definitely get Errotrap and Overwatch from Nraas at the very least. I can't imagine what a mess my game would be without those two. There are others that fix things, too, but in my opinion those are must haves.

As for other mods and EPs, that depends on your taste and gameplay. Unless you're a completionist like me and have to have all the EPs/SPs. :D

Nraas has alot of good mods TFM's Sims Asylum also has a lot of good tuning mods but becareful to read the mod descriptions to avoid conflicts. And Mod the Sims also but watch out some are outdated so you need to really watch what you put in your game.

I've been too busy to play as of recently, pretty sure I haven't thoroughly played the game since summer-fall. But i'm planning on building a mansion in bridgeport today. Not sure if it should be contemporary or have a traditional new england look.

Same! It breaks my heart whenever I see a nice house with rounded walls and I realize that I can't make it in-game. </3

I really fell in love with the layout of the contemporary house though, but i'll defiantly incorporate some brick to the exterior. ^_^

For those who enjoy mod shopping, we do have this page devoted to our members' favorite mods from sources other than NRaas. One could spend hours/days browsing around what else these developers still have to offer that may not be listed especially if you find a mod from one or more of them that you really like.

I'm racking my brain and I don't think I have any mods from any other sites. The few I've tried from the odd tumblr site didn't work. I have about 40 tuning mods I've made for myself; I guess that's the only other source I use. :p

Let's not forget to pay our respects to Simlogical, home of the tools that made all of this modding possible and still host to some brilliant mods itself (plus unfortunately a small number that are now outdated). Essentially the grandparents of all TS3 modding efforts. :)

@JMConcept, that looks like quite the challenging build. :)

I'd love to be able to build the Surrey Central City Library and City Hall in Sims 3, but the angular windows and all that would be a little too difficult to accomplish.

    10-06-2014_CentralSquare_SurreyPublicLibrary_CityHall2_filtered_wm.jpg
Library is to the Left, City Hall is to the right of the picture. And man oh man, was it cold that night when I took that picture. 36s exposure time.

yes, one of my Sim just had a forbidden fruit baby

My Sim keeps wanting to grow Forbidden Fruit. I was wondering what that was. So it's an actual sims baby???? Do these start out as Seeds?

There's a few ways to get it, I'd advise you to research it first. The way my Sim got his was he leveled up to about 7 in Science with the Science research machine and did the gene splicing until he got the forbidden fruit, then he planted it.

His life is hectic and he didn't need a baby. I had to make another female Sim to take care of the baby while he went to work. He's a lifeguard. The baby is a toddler now & its the first time I've played anything other than a normal Sim, believe it or not so I'm looking forward to seeing what they do when he gets older. Flowers & grass already follow him when he crawls to different areas.

edit : forgot to tell you, you can eat the forbidden fruit or plant it, if you eat it you become a plant sim

It is an alternate timeline . In the time line ,Sims 3 was first, then Sims 1 ,then Sims 2 . Things haven't really been connected with 1,2,3 to 4. But , it does leave a chance to come up with stories on that .

Yeah, but that's just the canon for the series itself. How everyone plays their game is up to the individuals.
In my TS3 alternate timeline, so far, the sister simply didn't exist. Technically. I started this TS3 legacy way back in 2009, I hadn't really come up with her back then. Nor even considered it, haha. But now I want her to be a thing in my game, you know?

But this town is also generally a huge crossover kinda town, in which I throw in just about everyone, so it'd be fun to have their descendants around somewhere, preferably related in the family tree. Is it possible to connect family trees to ghosts with a mod? God, I hope so.
Either way, there's no way I'm ever gonna totally annihilate my town, that's just way too harsh. :D

If anything, I'd just recreate all the TS4 legacy sims in TS3 (good thing i only made it to 3 gens so far there) and somehow connect them familially through MasterController. I'd then make them age rapidly and have some more babies, basically make them skip a few generations so they can catch up, you know?
Then I'll let Story Progression take care of them from that point on. I figured out how to create instant babies with the mod, so that'll really come in handy whenever I finally end up going through with this.

I recently went back to it again and I am loving it!!!!! There is just so much that I STILL haven't done, thats how much content Sims 3 has. I have owned it since release which was 9 years ago and I can say I haven't even don't half of whats in the game. I also have been playing Sims Medieval a lot lately, which is another game that I absolutely love. It just puts me in a good mood every time I play.
