Besides all the RPG elements, does this play similar to the Sims where you can create sims and place them in houses, give jobs, etc?

Thanks! That answered all of my questions. I was hoping it would have a similar style but set in a medieval world.

No. I bought it when it was first released and got bored with it very quickly. Too linear, too simple, babies were objects, no toddlers (gee, sounds like The Sims 4!). I re-sold it and never regretted it.
