I saw a sim reading the newspaper on the toilet. LoL...i may have never paid attention before, but I was like...I thought they only did that in ts4.

Edited for typos - never try to post while standing in line at the carnival on a sunny day...obviously. LOL

I swear...I never saw it before. But then again, I rarely watch my sims when they're in the loo.

Lol, actually I can understand why you wouldn't. I just try to keep an eye on them most times to know when they're done so I can make them flush the toilet if they don't do it on their own, and then make them wash their hands, lol.

    here is a tip
When you're taking photos with the in game camera (C on the keyboard) you'll notice there's a flash along with a sound effect. However, sometimes that flash is not bright enough and the brightest part of it is after the picture is captured.
    So
Click the camera icon or press C again very shortly after the first time, then your second picture of the same image will be brighter.
I remember you from university, I still have your story.

Male and female Sims both read the newspaper if using the toilet that costs $900 - I think it is called porcelain throne?
This toilet comes with the base game but I am unsure if Sims also read the newspaper when using the toilets from Kitchen & Bathrooms.

Sometimes a male sim will leave the toilet seat up.

    omg!
I just got the UC, got sick of waiting for my brother to come over with my missing disks.
I started it up and ..
    TEARS!
I didn't realize how much I missed it.
I used to hit a key to make the intro skip, I left it alone, I let it play
    omg
I actually had a little sob to myself.
I just hope my old saves and downloads I have on disk will work with it.

Running with scissors is fun, until someone gets hurt.

The thing sims do at random times, when they look into the camera and put their hands out like "why are you making me do this?" scares me a little bit hahah like, no, you don't get to creep me out like this.

    AMlnJag.png?1

here's an example. I feel like they've been doing this more frequently in my game lately. Staaahp

that interaction of the directed sim with me, the player through the camera is probably the best thing of TS2 - i always loved that, it makes sims intelligent i think & have an own personality, they feel aware that way of not only what's going on in their life but also of who they are, game creatures - & indeed that makes them scary

i won't be participating in the forums & the gallery anymore - thanks EA

I enjoy seeing responses too - the hands out or pointing at their own chest - me? I almost hear the Sim saying, "oh! no!"
It very much depends on their character and what they don't like doing! :)
I also like the 'happy walk' when you have given them the action they really enjoy whether it be watch TV, clean up or a romantic action! :)

Haha yeah I enjoy it too! It's creepy but fun. ;D

I think it's really funny when they look into the camera and point blank refuse to do something. I have a sim who I told to flirt with a girl he brought home from school, he stopped turned looked right at the camera as if to say "I don't want too!". It's things like that I miss

I knew that Sims could listen to their MP3 player, but I didn't know they could sing to their favorite songs, lol. I just heard Susie singing, lol. I actually really like her voice. Not just her singing voice, but her speaking voice, her laughter. She's definitely my favorite Sim. I hope her voice doesn't change when she becomes an adult. I am not fond of her mom's (Lauren's) voice. It's too low.

The more creativity skill points a Sim has, the better the singing voice - like a songbird! :)

OK, I just had a weird thing happen. I sent a Sim downstairs to the kitchen to make herself breakfast, and so she took the cereal and stuff out, then proceeded to leave the kitchen with it and go all the way upstairs to her personal bathroom to fix the breakfast there. OK... And before anyone asks, yes, there was plenty of counter space in the kitchen, lol.
  • LadysimPlayer8LadysimPlayer8 Posts: 775 Member
Sims should use the nearest counter but I think if they are aware of another counter space elsewhere, they might use it.
To avoid it happening again, place an object on the counter space e.g. plant or sculpture or another sink?

So, I've got Lauren in the pool, swimming around, as I'm trying to kill her off, and I made an interesting discovery. While she's in the pool, I can click on her and have her float on her back! I didn't know you could get Sims to do this!

No, I wound up killing her through starvation. Eventually her family mourned her, but not right away, and they at first wanted to resurrect her, but that's not an option right now. Then they began moving on. Now she's a ghost, but no one is reacting to her? I'm a little confused because sometimes Dennis' want is to see a ghost, so if she's come back as a ghost finally, why is he (nor anyone in the house, including the baby, Debbie, whose fear is to see a ghost?

LMAO! OK, nevermind. Poor Dennis. He was letting Debbie out of her crib and Lauren just scared the 🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸 out of him, and he lost control of his bladder. It happened so fast, and so unexpectedly that I couldn't get a camera shot of it. Sorry.

I think the resurrect want only last for a couple of days after a Sim dies, so you would have to want this lock if that is something you did want to do?
If you resurrect a dead Sim, all previous relationships are lost - but skills earned in their life are in tact.
To resurrect a Sim, you would need the career reward from the Physic career track or a Secret Society member could 'borrow' it from the Secret Society house. The more money you pay the Grim Reaper, the better the Sim but you could choose to make a zombie?
The ghost should not scare a Sim who was a friend at the time of their death but some ghosts can be mischievous. Knowledge Sims enjoy the experience of seeing a ghost - all others are freaked out and if the bladder is full... well you found out what can happen. :)
A loved one can save the Sim from death by pleading with the Grim Reaper. The Grim Reaper checks the scroll and if is was not really the Sim's time, he plays rock paper scissors with the loved one and if the loved one is successful the Sim will not die.
Once playing Nervous Subject, he died on the treadmill (some kind of combustion) and the Grim Reaper came, looked up the scroll and started crying - I don't know if it was because Nervous was his son or whether because it was not his time? Unfortunately, no one was there to save Nervous from death.. :(

Witches with high enough skill can also resurrect sims. Good witches bring them back normal, bad witches create zombies.
If you want to get the ressurectonomitron without going through the career track, just bring up the cheat box and type "unlockCareerRewards" and find it in the career reward bin. I always unlock those regardless because there are items in there that are very useful, but once you get to the top of a career (and unlock them) they aren't really helpful anymore. I always get the bookcase because it builds any skill, even ones like body. I have my kids use it while I wait for them to grow up.

I don't even have to enter the cheat to unlock the career rewards because I use a Mod that unlocks them to buy mode on residential and community lots from the town edit mode. That's better than using the cheat because you can place them before a family moves into a house.
