Need MAJOR help!

I have all my Sims3 game/expansions set up through Origin. I tried the other day to install TS3 and my 5 expansions and I had problems with Master Controller (from NRAAS) crashing my game. I removed Master Controller and the game loaded but things did not work correctly, like Ctrl-Shift-C did not work, the super patch could not find the Sims 3 game, anyway, I deleted the Origin launcher and all the parts of the Sims3.

I then reinstalled the Origin launcher, and actually installed the Sims3 base game from Steam, as it still showed the key for the base game. The base game seemed to run by itself, it showed it was at vers 1.67.xxx and all seemed good to go. I then downloaded the World Adventures expansion from Origin, it was not purchased through Steam so it was not in my Steam library, and when the install from Origin reached the end, I received an error message saying that the installer could not find The Sims3 game so it could not install or complete the installation of World Adventures.

I seem to remember something about having the expansions set up in a specific folder when I ran the game before, but right now I cannot get a solid, working copy of the base game and my 5 expansions through the Origin launcher.

So I am looking for help. I am stuck using the Origin Launcher, unless all I want installed is the base game, the Origin launcher seems to install a game that crashes when certain NRAAS mods are added, i.e. Master Controller, so I am lost. I certainly am not going to rebuy what I have already bought, the super patch does not work as it is not recognizing the base game and I am stuck.

Origin is useless and I am looking for help. Anyone? Thank you.

1 - You can use keys provided by Steam if you purchased the game that way to install through Origin. But you cannot mix actual Steam installs of the base game with actual Origin installs of the EPs. It's got to be one or the other all the way.

2 - The Super Patcher is not meant to work on Steam installs at all. It won't do any good on fresh Origin installs either because those will now give you Patch 1.69.

3 - As I indicated in your other thread, MasterController should not be crashing your game. I suggested a couple of things to check and that you reach out to us at NRaas for assistance.

I tried to delete all traces of the Sims, even cleaning the registry and tried to reinstall the Origin version of TS3 and it not only installed the base game it installed also the Late Night Expansion which needless to say did not work. I received an error message and the game closed. I did another complete deinstall and cleaning of TS3 items and I am waiting to see if I can find an answer.

Right now I am hoping that someone has experienced the same thing and has an answer. I can install the base game from Steam and it will work, but I do not have any expansions on Steam. Or, I can try to install from the Origin launcher, it will install the base game but when I try to run it, I get an error message and it closes. There has to be something on my computer that is there from a previous installation that is causing the game now to crash. I know that with some games, if you do not have a completely clean install, it will not work. I am afraid that I have something left over from a previous install and it is ruining me.

Anyway, I still have Sims 4, but I still enjoy TS3 and tried to get a clean working copy set up through Origin, but it is not working, so I give up.

    Any help?

Stab in the dark here as we don't know anything about your computer setup, but are you on Win 10? There was a "bad" Windows Update released on Dec 29 that breaks Origin based TS3 installs. We understand a new update was just released by MS today that is supposed to fix the bad one -- or possibly the bad one has to be uninstalled first, still a little unclear on that.

Its breaking intel graphics too. I just spoke to someone who now has issues with intel. They have a dual card laptop . Tis is what they told me

the big Windows 10 update kinda caused some problems with my Intel Graphics. I thought it was only me but I did some searching and found out that other people are having this problem too. I would get the BSOD whenever I open the Intel Graphics Control Panel (thankfully I don't have to do that often anyways). And the driver also crashes on Firefox often that I have to turn off hardware acceleration.

Well, that's not it then. I take it you have tried pulling your game folder out to your Desktop, even if it's a new one generated by the reinstall attempts.

As for something left behind getting in the way of the reinstall, yes that is a strong possibility. Not sure what method you are using to clean the Registry. There's the manual way:
    https://help.ea.com/en/article/manually-uninstalling-the-sims-3

And then there's the CCleaner way, which I've never used but it does have a loyal following:

I found this link about uninstalling Steam versions of EPs. It might have some information about cleaning the registry of Steam TS3 installs. In your original post you mentioned installing the Steam version of the base game, then (if I understand correctly) uninstalling it and going to the Origin version. I did something similar a few months after buying the game from Steam. I think I did remove all the Steam TS3 registry entries (I don't think CCleaner got them) at one point.
