Speaking of cobwebs ... I created a clean Sims 3 folder. I placed The Now & Then Century Manor in my town. The decorations of "Then" version got me a bit confused. The walls were decorated with numerous fish on wooden plaques. There were also a few floor clocks that were better suited to being in a market square or a train station. I thought this was strange.
I loaded up the game on my old computer. I placed the manor in that game. In that manor, the clock was a grandfather clock which was much better. Instead of the fish plaques, spider webs were on the walls. It was then I realized what was going on in the first game. I had created a new Sims 3 folders but I had forgotten to bring in the store content patches.
I know the game is programmed to pick an alternate item to replace an item not loaded or available in the installed game. I don't see how a fish on a plaque is a good alternative to a spiderweb.
*leaves the cobwebs in place but adds a few fish plaques. Places Moe P. Cuddlebones in the corner. Before leaving clicks awesome on previous posts.*

It was then I realized what was going on in the first game. I had created a new Sims 3 folders but I had forgotten to bring in the store content patches.
Oh! I think I had the exact same problem a few weeks ago, a house refused to charge its store windows even though the windows were present in my game and I could find them in build mode. How did you fix this exactly?

There's some important news about the store. The store update patches that download to the 'ContentPatch' folder in your game folder will no longer download. If you are on version 1.69 you don't need them. But if you are on version 1.67 those files are NEEDED for your store content to work properly. I posted this on EA help awhile ago and have not received a response but evidently, from what a user in a general discussion thread said earlier, he was told this is not a mistake and will not be fixed. If you need the patches you have to get them from a backup or another user, so I'm assuming EA is okay with us sharing these files. If you're doing a fresh install, make sure you save your content patches!

@Lexers615 - Glad to hear your chiropractor and massage therapist were able to get you back to your regular routine. I always wish I could be stuck in bed for a day but not in the way you were. I want to be pain free, propped up comfortably against lots of pillows with a cup of coffee and surrounded by books and electronic devices. Sigh.

Hey everyone. Enjoyed the amusing entries very much.
I agree about the random replacements. I loaded a house that had been full of custom content just to find several fire hydrants throughout. Not entirely sure what it replaced, but pretty sure it wasn't an outdoor public item. The other thing I find interesting is the gifts my Sims receive in the mail from admirers. Especially when I have CC installed.
@meerkattime - I am currently reinstalling my store content too. After I install a group of sets/items, I check them out in the game to make certain they installed properly. Speaking of cobwebs ... I created a clean Sims 3 folder. I placed The Now & Then Century Manor in my town. The decorations of "Then" version got me a bit confused. The walls were decorated with numerous fish on wooden plaques. There were also a few floor clocks that were better suited to being in a market square or a train station. I thought this was strange.
I loaded up the game on my old computer. I placed the manor in that game. In that manor, the clock was a grandfather clock which was much better. Instead of the fish plaques, spider webs were on the walls. It was then I realized what was going on in the first game. I had created a new Sims 3 folders but I had forgotten to bring in the store content patches.
I know the game is programmed to pick an alternate item to replace an item not loaded or available in the installed game. I don't see how a fish on a plaque is a good alternative to a spiderweb.

I agree about the random replacements. I loaded a house that had been full of custom content just to find several fire hydrants throughout. Not entirely sure what it replaced, but pretty sure it wasn't an outdoor public item. The other thing I find interesting is the gifts my Sims receive in the mail from admirers. Especially when I have CC installed.
