From what I've heard, SecuRom is an anti piracy program that prevents people from making pirated version of games.

In the past, people had problems with SecuRom on their computers, like nasty malware and other viruses. I think that issue is resolved now though.

    More information:

I know Wikipedia isn't all that reliable but yeah lol

Yes it in fact still has Securom (personal experience just recently) and Windows 10 isn't compatible with Securom at all. A few people been having problems getting The Sims 2 to run on a Windows 10 and some people are having no problems at all. If you are having problems send me a private message and maybe I can help you out.

thanks for your answer!!! I haven't any problem with the game & windows 10 at the moment!!! :):):)

It's legal malware, but CD/DVD drives are becoming obsolete technology, so if your laptop doesn't have one, then Securom isn't going to be an issue for you.
