QUERIES / WIP SCREENSHOTS REGARDING CURRENT BUILD

Feb 5/19 - a few more WIPs for you. (A) was inspired by elegant pastel Indian décor I saw online. These colours are also used for the grand foyer entrance. (B) tea in the Asian inspired zen garden. Behind the waterfall, the other side of the zen garden consists of a sandy area where sims can play in the sand/sand box and practice their martial arts. (C) the dining room is a blend of both influences and brings in the warmer tones.

The landscaping is pretty much done now. There's a small greenhouse with the SwiftGro gardening station and adjacent space to add more plants. Attached to the greenhouse is a doggie room with pet amenities. The pool has an unique covered hot tub and lots of space and seating for sims to hang out.

I'm making progress on the first floor which includes a formal music/piano room, bar & pool room, home theatre, butler's quarters, 'wellness wing', kitchen and dining. The 'wellness wing' (Asian inspired) includes a spa with massage, sauna and gym. An art nook, laundry room and full bathroom round out this wing. There are several other skill building activities throughout the lot which you can remove or add to as desired.

I do have question for you... the third level opens to a room which I've temporarily assigned as a party room including karaoke, DJ booth, stereo and juice keg. The balcony off this room is a 'hookah' area. Are you good with having a party room?

Hi @trashbinsouvenir , I've reworked the master bedroom to mix reds and purples. Hope you like this version.

Here's a WIP of the master bedroom for you @trashbinsouvenir . Option of reds or purples... which do you prefer?

    [Edit! Removed WIPs]

    Jan 21/19
Hi @trashbinsouvenir , below is a shell I created blending Indian and Asian influences as per your request. Is this in line with what you are thinking? Of course this is the very initial stages so will evolve as I move forward. Anything you would prefer I change in terms of the architecture or key colours?

If you are looking for an even more modern look, an option could be a Kerala type home like the one at this link. Either way, let me know.

    [Edit! Removed WIP]

I am LOVING everything I am seeing- so gorgeous and creative! Beautiful colors and architecture- and the landscaping I saw by the tea set is to die for! I'm definitely happy to have a party room!

Great to hear from you @trashbinsouvenir . A couple more questions...

If I remember correctly your family has a little girl already. Would you prefer bright colours OR pastels for this room?

For the nursery... did you want this also decorated for a girl OR gender neutral?

I'd love for her room to be bright colors, she's very vibrant! And the nursery I'd like to be more on the neutral side (though this to be doesn't mean any and all gender needs to be kept out, just not blatantly screaming GIRL ;) ), because I will be keeping this house for quite some time and I'm not sure what the future generations will bring. :)

Hi @trashbinsouvenir , a WIP of the girl's room on page 1... bright enough for you lol

Anyway, another question... do you have a preference for kitchen colours?

OMG that is so cute!! Teal is my real-world favorite color so I'm actually envious of my sims' room now! :D That is so perfect for her personality.

Kitchen preference would only be not as brightly colored ;)

LOL @trashbinsouvenir , yes the girls room is the most colourful in the home. I went ahead with dark cabinets and lighter countertop for the kitchen.... pulled in the deep brown and gold from the nearby dining room. First floor is now all done yay. Currently working on the nursery. Wishing everyone a great week ahead :)

That sounds perfect! Everything has looked amazing so far. I've never been able to pull this themed house off on my own, even decor/color scheme-wise (lord knows not build-wise) but always want sims dressed in the sets.. but it doesn't quite look right a lot of the time. I'm so excited for it all to come together in my game!! This is going to be a very well used house. <3

I wasn't even expecting you to do the vaulted ceiling... I like it though. I think it looks a bit empty without the truss, but I agree, it's too much with it.

It will be less empty once I add furniture and wall treatments . Also you typically don’t see this view in normal gameplay... so let’s proceed without the truss. I can always add it back before uploading if you really want the option.

    Lots more questions...

    Did you want laundry?

    A fruit/veggie garden?

Usually I place the nursery next to the master however the master is pretty isolated in this floor plan. Would you prefer the nursery on the main floor on the opposite side of the house as located in the floor plan.... or would you prefer the nursery with the other bedrooms upstairs... or relocate the master upstairs?

Also what would you like in the basement? The other two levels will contain everything you requested so this is bonus space. I will add a doggie corner with the pet bed, etc as an indoor option. Maybe a games room? Movie theatre? Any special skill items? Your call @aaron0haaron :D

    No

I'd like for the nursery to be on the main floor opposite the master. I like the master where it is. Can you put the changing table in the nursery and some baby monitors around specifically in the bedroom for YA Female 2?

For the basement, I'd like a gym, a gaming/hangout area with arcade games, billiards, foosball, darts, maybe the ping pong table, a bar & kitchenette, a nectar storage room (tasting room & nectar machine not needed) a bathroom. I don't want a theatre, but maybe one of the big screen TVs and a console in the hangout area? This might sound like an odd request, but can you include an area for the bubble blower from LN and some shelves for the "bubbles"? These don't have to be in the basement, but I would like a chess table and a study nook somewhere. For the art studio, I'd like an easel, a sketch pad, the street art kit, and the nice camera that came with WA. In the teen boy's room, I'd like an acoustic & electric guitar and drums if you can squeeze them in.

I'm assuming the guest room is on the second floor with the other bedrooms? Is it too late to ask if the bedrooms have ensuites and closets? I know they're on the floor plan, but I didn't specifically ask for them so I'm just checking.

  • soocoolsimsoocoolsim Posts: 3,082 Member

Ok @aaron0haaron , it all sounds good. I’ll configure the basement around your requirements. Yes the guest room is upstairs. Each bedroom currently has an ensuite but not closets. I had reworked the upstairs floor plan to make better use of space. I typically use dressers but can add a small closet basically to house the clothing rack in each bedroom if you wish... let me know. The master has a walk-in closet.

@soocoolsim I apologize for not mentioning the closets earlier. The enclosed clothing racks are perfect! I personally do not care for dressers so I usually do that for my sims.

No problem @aaron0haaron ,I’m still in the layout stage so easily adjusted. A few more questions for you on page 1.

    @soocoolsim

    I think I would prefer a door.

Yes I have Loud, Fast Clash. I like the Lullabies Nursery the best and I was thinking some of the stuff in the Gothic Glamour sets would go nicely in YA Female 1's room.

    I'll PM you a list. :)

Thanks for the list @aaron0haaron . I’m in the decor and recolour stage. Did you want to see regular WIPs as I go along... a few now and then / when requested by you... or surprise you at the end?
  • aaron0haaronaaron0haaron Posts: 102 Member
Maybe a few now and then wouldn't hurt? I'd still like for it to be somewhat a surprise when it all comes together. :)
  • soocoolsimsoocoolsim Posts: 3,082 Member

Ok @aaron0haaron , just tell me whenever you would like to see a sneak peek of any particular area. The regular bedrooms, their ensuite baths and closets are pretty much done. Master bedroom and landscaping in progress. :D
  • aaron0haaronaaron0haaron Posts: 102 Member
I would love a sneaky shot of either one of the kids rooms (YA Female 1, 2, Teen Male)

Ah landscaping... :D I'm sure you'll do much better than I ever would!

WIP of YAFemale1 on page 1 for you @aaron0haaron . I can replace the Lips of Loveseat if you don't have it. Thought it would add an element of fun to lighted up the goth theme :D
  • aaron0haaronaaron0haaron Posts: 102 Member
I LOVE IT!!! Interesting you chose YA Female 1's room since she's probably my favorite sim in that household. :D

I don't recognize the bed. Where is it from?

I unfortunately do not have that loveseat. :/ I like the thought behind it though! :)

My bad... since you mentioned the Gothic sets I assumed you had this bedroom set without checking. No worries, I'll redo the room with replacements for the bed, loveseat and curtain and share another WIP @aaron0haaron
