URGENT HELP - Origin will not go online. Please help «12...Next Go

Hi all. I am in tears because i can't play. I have anxiety and depression and the sims is my only way out and i can't play it. This has never happened before. I don't know what to do. I have tried everything. I can't log in to EA to get help and I can't log on to the Australian forums. I am at my wits end. It just will not go online. Any ideas? Please I am so upset.

Are you able to log in to Origin?
Shut down your computer completely. Then start the computer and then try to log in to Origin and start the game.

If you can't log in to origin, or you can log in but can't launch the game there are a few things to try.

Check to make sure that your antivirus or firewall are not causing issues.

Remove any mods/cc that you have and see if that helps.

Repairing the game may help. To do that, right click on the sims 4 picture in Origin and click repair.

Delete the origin cache files

If you are still have problems, uninstall and reinstall origin

I have tried rebooting, I have tried reinstalling origin I have tried deleting my cache. Nothing works. I can't even get into origin to repair the game. I can't get in to do anything.

Is it perhaps your password that is not allowing you to log in to Origin or to the help site? There is another simmer who was experiencing this. I will find the thread about it.

Btw, the two factor log in for my EA account has locked me out, and the text won't work. It used to be instantaneous so when it didn't come through when I requested it, I waited about a half an hour and requested it again. This happened 3 times until it locked me out for too many requests. 7 hours later I see that I have a ton of texts; there were my codes. GAH! When I set up the two factor log in it gave me a series of back up codes that do not work. I can't reach anyone at EA because I can't log in to my account.

On a side note: I finally got into my account!!! I was so happy. It's amazing how disconnected I felt not being able to get on the forums. Anyway, when I spoke to EA customer service they told me that the text retrieval for two step verification is glitched, as well as the backup codes generated for text retrieval. So, if you use two step verification be sure to change it to email.

This happened to another simmer. I am not sure if it is related to your issue or not.
Check that you are putting in your password correctly.

There may be server problems at the moment. Perhaps try again later on.

I enter my details and it does nothing. It just has an orange bar across the top saying "online log in is currently unavailable" but has been like that since Thursday. When i double click my sims icon it does not do anything. I am so upset.

I have tried the hosts thing. That didn't work. I go into the particular folder for origin and I don't have the cache files in their that are listed. I am really at my wits end. I don't know what else to do. I can't even access the chat to get help.

When you try to log in to Origin, there is a link at the bottom that says " can't access account? " . Press that and that may help.

Or you could do what the EA Advisor suggested, by making another account only so as you can be in touch with EA to tell them about your account. Usually you shouldn't have more than one account,but it may help you in this situation, so as you can be in touch.

The screen that comes up to type in your account details does not come up. It times out. The can't access your account on Origin is greyed out and I can't press it.

Go to task manager and see if Origin is running. If it is, close it down. Shut down your computer completely,not just restarting. Then boot your computer again. Try to log in to origin.

Try uninstalling origin again, but this time before reinstalling, run cc cleaner.

I did that and no go. Still not working. I have contacted EA on facebook and he told me to speak to an advisor. Ummm...I just told him that I cannot get into my account to get to an advisor. He has suggested one more thing which i will try tonight and hopefully that will work. I am devastated for want of a better word and can't even get on the EA site to get help.

I am sorry that you still can't get into your account. I hope that doing what the person on Facebook suggested helps. Have you tried making another account, just so that you can be in touch with an advisor, so as they can help you with your main account?

Wow, I think you are having it worse than me. I have this problem as well at home also since last week, but luckily, I play the game on my laptop. I could bring my laptop to school and use the wifi there to log in.
For some reason, Origin cannot recognize that my mobile broadband is connected to the Internet.

Do you have any other computers at home or any that you can find? If you have any at home and if possible, try downloading Origin and see if you can login from that other computer. Or if you can't download anything onto the computer, then see if you could go to an EA website and log in.

Also, in the mean time, you can play the game without being 'connected to the Internet'. Just type in your password and it will log you in.

I hope you don't have that awful "Must be logged in for the first time" thing, since I see that you've already uninstalled Origin.

Delete your internet cookies and use clean disk to delete your temp files.

Hi Dekay...sorry you are experiencing this too. I just have Online log in is currently unavailable. I have tried logging in to both EA, Origin and I downloaded origin on the work computer and yes I can access it. So it something to do with my connection via my internet at home. My computer is currently with a tech to see if there are any bugs or anything. Cinebar: I have done that using cc cleaner. The trouble is I can't be ringing and doing stuff from work. So I am basically stuck. Everything is fine with my internet connection too. I rang my ISP and they said all is good and I can and should be able to access everything. I am at a loss for words and very very devastated.

Yeah, it could be your internet at home. I can't log in from home on all my 3 laptops.

Does the Origin pop up load really slowly too when you're connected to the Internet?

Like, this screen goes on for more than 30secs?

If you have the Online login thing like this after that, you can type in your details and it will log you in:


If nothing happens, then I guess you have a different problem than me, but you can at least try and tell us how it goes.

And yes, I'm also at a loss of words. I don't know why this is happening but I can go online as well. Maybe our internet speeds aren't fast enough...?

I'm suspecting that the joining of EA account and Origin is causing this problem. I've never had this problem before.
