The University Life expansion pack was one of my very favorite packs for Sims 3, and I can't wait to get a university expansion for The Sims 4. However, I have this sinking feeling that if we do get one, it will not be anywhere near as good as its predecessor. You know how in The Sims 3, the college campus was (like everything else) open world?
How on earth are we supposed to have a university expansion if the academic buildings aren't on the same lot as the dorms?
I am very afraid that this is going to work similar to regular schools and careers, in that going to university will only entail moving into a dorm and then disappearing into oblivion every morning and returning with homework. I know that you couldn't attend regular classes with your Sim, but you could watch them run to class and go inside, at least! Also, I refuse to go through a loading screen every time my Sim has a lecture or something that I can attend.
I loved everything about the Sims 3 university pack, including the major-specific objects, the aptitude test, the social groups, the protesting, the parties, and the ramen. But I'm not sure how they're going to pull this one off, seeing as they've already omitted open world as an option. Does anyone have an idea as to how they might be able to accomplish this without loading screens every 5 seconds? And please do not respond with "The Sims 4 is a waste of time and money" because I've already bought it and I like it enough to give it a chance.

Although, it was evolved in The Sim 3 and I really enjoyed it so much. Just not the 4390857309485 sims standing outside of the door trying to graduate or get to class. Fix that, included a world for it, social venues (COFFEE SHOP!!) and I'm happy.
Linear, repetitive ,& having a different teacher/colleagues every day??
God no!

... or Pitch Perfect. Then it would be aca-awesome.
Yeah, they already have the system and I don't think they will redo all from the start, but I hope I'm wrong.
> I would want it to be like sixam... As in the whole thing on one hidden lot. Active careers could work into it nicely tho.
That sounds good to me, actually. It would just have to be an enormous hidden world, almost twice the size of sixam, to make it realistic. Because in real life, dorms are not two steps away from the academic buildings (usually).
Mhm... But it'd have to be better done thn sims 3 so I don't regret buying it like I did for sims 3.
Some eps I regret buying because they were so bugged up and/or boring.
Others I liked and thought were ok but nothing as good as sims 4
For sims 3:
Eps I regret buying: generations, university, seasons, late night,
Eps I liked: supernatural, showtime, island paradise, into the future
I think I had one more. Forgot wht it was. All my 3 sps I regret.

Absolutely! with the riff offs too. In fact, they could make universities that covered all study subjects but specialised in certain extra-curricular activities. There could be dance too - Step Up style. In TS3 generations, I always used to be disappointed that you couldn't carry on the dancing and scouting. At my uni we had archery tournements!
