Does this computer meet the minimum requirements to play The Sims 4?

Hi guys. I'm a Simmer through & through. The only Sims game I have not played is the original, The Sims. So I need to get a new computer in order to run The Sims 4, and I was wondering if this computer meets all of the minimum requirements?

Do not look at the minimum requirements; you need to look at the recommended requirements.

You need a proper gaming laptop to be able to run the Sims games; people have said that the Sims doesn't take much to run, but that is entirely false, you need a proper gaming laptop to run the Sims.

The graphics on that computer are UMA Intel HD Graphics, which with that processor might barely meet minimum requirements ... if that particular version of HD Graphics has at least 128 MB dedicated video memory. But most Intel HD Graphics don't have that, and looking at the price of that laptop, I would guess this one has 0 dedicated video memory.

When you are shopping for a computer for this game, that 128 MB dedicated video memory is key. Many websites don't post enough detail about their laptops to even know what dedicated video memory a laptop comes with. Assume it's not enough unless it says it is. I highly recommend at least 1 GB dedicated video memory for this game, and a laptop cooler.

Looking at the processor I would stay away, Celerons are only good for general use surfing the internet, a little word processing and casual gaming.

Maybe try to look at 6gb ram.

Technology has changed so much, huh? I remember when 640k of ram was "more than anyone could ever need" :P. But yes, you need at least 4gbs of ram, and at least 128mb of dedicated memory on the card, and probably 512 down the road as more expansions come in. If sims 3 is anything to judge.

what colton posted the fangbook would be a good choice. This laptop has great specs for the price.

The fangbook has several reviews directly on cyberpwer accept that cyberpwer is charging more for the same laptop than newegg. Cyberpwer use to have it for same price. Once in a while someone will get a computer thats a dud. Des nt mean that in general all of them are duds.
