Hi. I really want a new expansion pack and i really want a new one. I already have late night and I'm torn between ambitions, seasons and generations. Which does eachone contain?
Seasons gives you...well seasons, along with weather, holidays and leasure days and some new events at the park that you can attend to with your sims, these are very boring and repetitive for me, I do like however the egghunt and the spooky day where you can crave a pumpkin etc. It also gives you some new collectibles and some cool new objects that your sims can use. Lifestate Aliens.
Ambitions gives you somewhat repetitive new careers a side from architect and stylist but are pretty easy to level up. You'll be able to be self employed and make whatever you want like paiting, writting, sculpting or inventing to earn money like a career but without having a schedule. It also gives you washing machines and dryers, if you don't have already from some store sets or "Town Life Stuff" Pack. Lifestate Simbots (do not confuse with Plumbots).
Generations enables the full memory system, you have canes for elders, teens can learn how to drive, kids can have imaginary friends it also comes with more interactions for all lifestages. Teens can prank, go to prom and graduate (rabbit hole), tree houses and sand boxes, you'll be able to make home movies with sim cameras and watch them in the sims TV and your sims can have a day care.
I got World Adventures and Generations first because there was a nice two for one deal going on. My personal favorite has got to be Ambitions! With an inventing level of six, you can detonate items. Blow things up at the town park, your neighbor's house, your house, you name it! I also loved the investigator profession. It depends on you of course. Generations had a lot of things I love, it paired well with World Adventures as sleeping bags are nice to have in tombs. Especially if the whole family goes tomb raiding together. Seasons was very well done and beautifully detailed. Rain and snow tends to really make the game lag but holidays are a lot of fun too. Gah, I've fallen in love with all my expansions!
Do this.
No, seriously, do this.
The thing is, in asking us which you should get, you're getting biased opinions. But we aren't you and we don't know what parts of the packs will and won't appeal to you. So do yourself a huge, huuuuge favor and just look at what each expansion brings to the table!! C:
I actually agree with @mizuru007. Look and see everything that's in the expansion. Although it may have a few spoilers because it seems to know literally everything and may also make the decision even harder, if you really like all of them; those downsides are why I try not to look into expansions too much before I buy them. You can also find reviews on YouTube if you want to see the expansions in action.
Answer 1 (aka The simplest answer)- Get what ever expansion you want, ignore the opinions of all others. If you want them all equally roll a die to determine what one to get, assign Season numbers 1-2, Ambitions 3-4 and Generations 5-6. Leave it to fate/luck to decide for you.
Answer 2 (aka What I personally would do, if I didnt already own all Expansions and Stuff Packs)- Get all three at once.
Just heads up if you get any of these expansions, getting the through Origin right now also gives you some Store content for each: Seasons comes with the Mother Russia set from the store, Ambitions comes with the Skylight Studio Venue from the store and Generations comes with the Lullabies and Nursery Rhymes set from the store.
If you get seasons and then get Supernatural you will also have the Weather Stone which allows the supernatural life states "cast" different weather effects such as the Werewolves Hunters Storm (gives werewolves a greater chance of finding collectables when hunting for them) or Vampires eclipsing Fog 9allows vampires to feed on or turn other sims .without worry of rejection)
I echo what most have said but if it were me? I'd get Seasons. Only because adding them, to me, adds a whole new dimension to game play. I don't particularly care for my games to have the same old utopian weather.
ETA: also the weather effects are very well done on TS3. It's quite beautiful to watch.
I think it all depends on how you like to play the game. For example I really like the game play of university because it's Cloe to real life but never been muh into the vampires and werewolves etc.

Well, it depends, I absolutely love generations, it enforces family play, and the way pranks work is amazing.
Seasons is also pretty good, there's also a lot of family play in that because of the family activities for each season.
Ambitions is ok, for this one the way you play matters the most, you need to pay a lot of attention to the sims and it can get frustrating sometimes.
My favorite is generations, and I definitely recommend it. The pranks are fun, and a lot of the options it comes with are amazing.
It really depends on how you play, but I hope I helped instead of making it more confusing.
