Ooh your Sixaman alien story sounds interesting! Do you have a link? I'd love to put it on my reading list. I like reading how others interpret the game and lore too. Imo, lore and simwiki is there should we wish to expand on existing backstories, but not necessary. I'm just as interested if the writer decides to come up with their own.
I like SimLit for the same reason. The only reason my story exists is because it's already co-written by the game (I played through the generation before deciding to write it.) And now that I am, I rolled back an old save so I can keep playing the game.
I'm the same: The gameplay drives a lot of the plot. I liken it to sailing...while I might have a hand on the tiller to steer the story, the gameplay is the wind that powers it. Sometimes I have to create all the encounters and actions of the Sims and sometimes someone shows up, or there's an invite to go somewhere or one of those random work events that get incorporated into the chapter. I can write normal prose and scripts without the game but, like Mercuryfoam, I like the fun of playing a game and writing a story at the same time. Added to that I create the sims, build their homes and settings and then work to getting good looking screencaps.
@mercuryfoam I PM’d the links! AND @Kellogg_J_Kellogg I agree, it is pretty much like sailing. My alien story was quite a funny one especially with all the unplanned alien abductions and trying to fit them into the plot : p Shiny colourful babies all around!
@SnowBnuuy Thank you! Do you have a thread for your Alien Adoption Challenge? Asking because there's no option to comment and I'm itching to rant about a few characters already.
i'm writing later i had to order my work aniversary gift 50 inch smart tv. i've been on leave from work just over a year so i can't afford one on my own.
@mercuryfoam Just changed the comment situation, you should be able to comment now. I had it on the wrong setting XD
I’ll look at implementing Next/Previous Page button as well since my chosen theme doesn’t have one by default!
Phew...it took me a few days to write but the next chapter of Sim 66 is a long one! It was one of those days where a lot happened but we get more revelations about the Landgraabs and the Humor & Hijinks festival plus there's yet another twist to end on as my main characters this chapter take things to the next level.
@Julyvee94 it’s pretty slow going here, too (The Netherlands). They’re planning to have everyone aged 60 and up be vaccinated by the beginning of summer, but everyone else will have to wait. They temporarily stopped providing one vaccine type because they were concerned about the possible after-effects. If there are no delays, my age group will receive their vaccinations in July and August.
Hosting D&D sessions on the side. Interested in playing through some fantasy-themed shenanigans? Send me a message 😘
2/3rds of people in the UK have had their first vaccines, most people over 60 have received their second. The ones who haven't had their first are mainly those who've refused them.
How are vaccinations coming along in your countries? Here in Switzerland it's pretty slow though still better organized than Germany from what I hear.
@Julyvee94: most US states have opened up vaccines to the general public or will by next week. Finding appointments is another ordeal though (I found out that I qualify earlier than expected for being only overweight so I'm trying to get an appointment before everyone else can).

It's slow where I am. But I'm disabled so i could get my shot on Sunday with my parents. (Mom is so sure everyone got bandaids, and I'm sure I didn't get a bandaid, not even a small one)

NZ here, we've been vaccinating border workers for about 2 months but they've only gotten through 80% of them. Many people are non complacent and don't come back for their second shot, wasting a dose and having to start over again. And don't get me started on the antivaxxers.
Can't wait to get my shot, I just hope people haven't used them all up until I can get to one.
I had a really exciting productive day. I worked on my Seven Sins story and managed to get some PERFECT screenshots for what the chapter was about, along with a perfect set building experience after buying Jungle Adventure the other day. I'll probably post it tomorrow morning. As far as vaccines go, I think all the susceptible people who really needed it have gotten it, and now they're opening it up to anyone who wants one.
