Just wondered if anyone knew what version/s of OpenGL The Sims 4 for Mac is utilising? (I'm assuming it could be utilising multiple versions based on video card/OS?)
With Mavericks/Yosemite Apple introduced OpenGL 4.1, but not all the computers that run those systems use 4.1, theres a mix of 3.x-4.1 .. Was wondering if there is a specific version it uses or its mixed based on hardware.

No I know my Mac runs it, I just upgraded from a 21.5 iMac to a 27 iMac with 775 and there is hardly any improvement I was wondering if EA was using an older OpenGL which would bottleneck preformance

Don't forget that iMacs use mobile GPUs although you should be able to play with everything on high/ultra.
I have all settings maxed out (no AA) at 2560x1440 and the game struggles to keep a stable 30FPS. The 750m that was in my 21.5" imac could use these same settings at 1920x1080 at the same framerate or higher. The 775m has double the memory and over 2.5 times more processing power (by the benchmarks ive seen) and under windows the performance is over double the mac performance (including full AA).
Yep, it is performing better in Windows, that's not going to change. I'm surprised at your FPS though. I have the 650M 1Gb VRAM in my 15" MBP, 2.6Ghz i7 and am now averaging between 30-40fps consistently. Are you running anything else? Background tasks like Time Machine, Dropbox, antivirus etc?

Nothing new, you could ask the computer to do this since Windows XP, it's called voice recognition. A Windows concept not an Apple concept.
Actually you are referring to speech recognition, not voice recognition, which has been in computers, both Windows and Macs for donkeys years. Speech recognition is your computer transcribing your spoken word, voice recognition is the software recognising who is talking. Siri is the equivalent of Cortana in Windows phones or Google Now for Android. They are described as personal assistants, not just voice and speech recognition as they incorporate elements of both.
And did I say anywhere that voice recognition was an Apple concept? Nope, I did not.
iMac 27 - 3.4GHz Intel Core i5, 8GB memory, nVidia GeForce 775M 2GB, 1TB Hard Drive, The newest 27 (the one that was just as of 3 hours ago replaced with a Retina iMac)
Hmmm, I don't really know what to suggest. You should be getting much better fps. Maybe a driver update from Apple in the future might improve things but that's only hoping
Have you tried lots of different graphics configurations? Sometimes lowering just one option can make a massive difference.
Sorry been busy for the last couple weeks, and also had the iMac replaced due to faulty airport card. The new unit has identical specs and runs the sims 4 identically. I've tried playing around with the settings, and unless I drop everything to minimum settings at 2560x1440 (the game gets over 60FPS at these settings) the frame rate is still oddly low/unstable.

Don't forget the forum rules are on the forum- go find 'em!
On iPhones and iPads you could just ask Siri, and she'll even Google for you
Did you read the links? The version is determined by the Mac. Are you asking because you don't think your Mac can play the game?

You're welcome.
What is your exact model of Mac?
