Gave birthday party, but it didn't count

One of my Sims is a party animal and needs to throw/attend parties at 5 different venues. She planned a birthday party for her dad at the park. Dad blew out the candles, people ate cake, etc. Silver medal party. Then later that night when they were at home, he spun around and aged from YA to A a second time and got the sad moodlet because his birthday was forgotten. He'll be fine, but I'm rather annoyed.

The only mod I have is no more culling.
