I just bought a new Mac (2nd hand Mac) and discovered I can't play my beloved sims 3 any more. With my specs can somebody tell me if I will be able to run sim4 or do I need to say goodbye to the game forever?

    Macbook pro (13inch, early 2011)
    Processor 2.3GHz intel core i5
    Memory 8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Graphics Intel HD Graphics 3000 512MB

    I have 498.88GB of storage

    Hello!
So i am having some trouble with my sims 4 lately:

    My specs are:
Macbook pro 2016 with touch bar 13"
    2,9 GHz intel core i5
    8 gb RAM
Intel Iris Graphic 550 1536 MB

I have get to work, city living, parenthood en vampires and cats and dogs, if i had a family with max 5 or 6 sims it was usually going ok, but now with pets my fans are blowing really hard, i can add 1 or 2 sims and then maybe two pets, what could be the best settings for the sims? i played around with it but couldn't really find what i was looking for...

It should run fine. I would however upgrade to more RAM as it will make it easier for your Mac to run the game. More RAM is always good. :)

The first Mac you posted is slightly better than the second Mac you posted . The first one would be better for 4K. Both should run the game but what @Tremayne4260 is stating get 16 gb ram not 8 gb

the store im gonna buy from has only 8GB ram available not 16gb :( but it would still run the game right?

also would it still run good with some packs? ( sorry im asking way too many questions lol)

It should do just fine to run everything, but remember the more you add to the game, the slower it may run. 8GB should be fine as it's double the minimum requirement for the Base Game.

Yours is similar to my Macbook Pro, except I have 2.7 GHz processor. I had trouble at first, until I started quitting all other programs when I use the Sims. When there are no other programs running, I have no trouble.

Would anyone with a MacBook Pro 15” mind uploading a gameplay clip on high graphics settings?? I would be soooooo appreciative and it would really help me choose a laptop (I know they’re not meant for gaming) but I can’t get a desktop.

Yes, and there aren’t many other than ones in 2014 or in a different language. I know it sounds ridiculous but was just curious

The MacBook Pros can handle Sims 4 well from what I have learned as long as it has 8 GB of RAM. The MacBook Airs are really not made to play games and have a hard time handling the game.

I bought this Mac yesterday and have found it runs my game really well. I have all the EPs, GPs, and SPs bar a few and my game doesn't lag. I've been fiddling around with the display and settled on windowed mode (I like to switch between apps as I play and my game seems to be running faster) with settings on high. Would recommend. :)
