What's wrong with SecuROM?
This has been bothering for quite awhile and I thought I'd asked...
What is wrong with SecuROM? Like why do people hate it? If you get it installed randomly, why don't you uninstall it via control panel?

How did it do that?
It destroyed the dvd drive because that is what it does. Then the system couldn't recognize the dvd drive so the processor put too many tasks on the hdd and burnt it out. The bios couldn't find anything and this happened in an endless loop that fried the bios chip.

Wasn't a virus... Securom did it...

I hate celebrity association in Sims games but if we must have it i'd be happy with Conchita. Eurovision is my passion, almost as much as the Sims! A Simlish version of Rise Like a Phoenix would be lovely. We need more power ballads in the Sim music industry. If the game turns itself around it would be a perfect 'against all odds' song to represent the game.
Also, the Conchita pack would allow male Sims to wear makeup which I know a lot of players are annoyed about (and women who can't wear beards ofc). Sparkly clothes and a new 'sassy' emotion. Wow I just described a great stuff pack.
Why don't people just uninstall secuROM via the control panel if they don't like it.

Because it isn't a program... That would be like taking the files that the government installs in the computer when they ship out.

From my understanding, it was anti-piracy software that was included with Sims 2: Bon Voyage and onwards. It stopped you from burning CD roms on your computer, and tried to stop you from installing the game on more than one system. The problem with this is that you could not uninstall it, and it messed up a lot of people's computers (that part I am not clear on). People were also angry that EA did this without their knowledge or consent.
