ALERT- I've also temporarily taken down the World Inspiration Cascade. Am I losing my mind? The rockwall isn't listed as part of the World Inspiration Collection, even though adventurous life is. Did I just make a bad assumption? Or does anyone remember seeing the rockwall on the World Inspiration page? Uber bummed about this
No, you're not losing your mind, @LadybugLeslie. I recently ran into this problem (shopping for my daughter) and buying the Rock Wall made no difference in her final cost of the World Inspiration Compilation.
On a lighter note, thank you so very much for this fantastic thread. It's a fabulous resource for saving money. I appreciate so very much your sacrifice of time on this effort. (*)
Glad I'm not losing my mind! Thanks for the kind words I'm glad you're finding the thread helpful!
@LadybugLeslie sorry for my confusion. i only own the cyber creeping vine, so my normal cys is 650.
Ok good- that's what I was thinking your CYS was. Also it's hysterical that they plum c yber. Ha! You can use Eliana's calculator to figure out sales page prices too-- in the DD price field put the weekly sale amount, then the other two fields you fill in normally and it will spit out your price. It's not quite as exact, because I think they do a little more rounding when they figure out your weekly sale price. But it should get you within 5 sp.
Getting the super sleeper on sale is probably the best way for you to get the set. If you pick it up now, it will make dd# 809 free for you. You need a CYS of 415 or lower to get the DD free and the sleeper will make your CYS 410. Your sale price on the set this week should be around 230 sp.
Hey @LadybugLeslie. Just wanted to let you know that I just got the Oh My Goth Compilation for 45 SP. I had started out just like you did, and then with some help I just bought the Gothique Sleeping Room. Pretty sure I owned only one item for Steampunk Savvy and Gothique Living Room each.
So I was wondering does anyone know a good way to get the Up the Ante Compilation? What I mean to ask is would it be worth it to go after the Double Down Poker and Roulette Bundle or just get the Lucky Simoleon Casino when it comes up on the DD?

I've read getting the casino should make the comp free
I have to talk to the help to get that one lol have the casino not sure how one day it had the download I had nothing in it but I have it but it wont say I do for the compilation. I hate talking to the help desk they seem to not understand a lot.

If you can get the tiki dining room cheaply on sale or when it's on dd- this is what I recommend:
656 Potted Cherry Blossom 10sp
710 Troubadour Table 16sp
733 Tropical Leaves of Repose 6sp
739 Ultra Lounge Ceiling Lights 6sp
761 Chef Jean's Choice Island Cabinet 24sp
926 Good Luck Coffee Table by MA Designs 21sp
966 Tiki Dining Room Set --??
If it will cost you more than 60 sp to get the tiki dining when it's up on dd, then you're better off just getting the interior castle set on dd
684 Full Interior Castle Set 147sp
@LadybugLeslie
the tiki dining is 60 atm not on dd
the living is 155 atm (the tiki lifestyle is the coffee table)
I will have to finish the living by feb 21 for the island escape
I think that is more then doable :
thank you so much I was wondering if getting the castle interior was worth it guess its better just to wait on it till the compilation
@LadybugLeslie I just went and bought the dining for the 60 the living/dinning set was only 30 after so I said well thats good enough so I am all set for the Island escape
your guide really has helped me figure out what to buy in what order.
Thank you
also been looking, would the April 2012 be an awesome price after the best of 2012, have you had a look at that one since the india living, bedroom, hairstyles and clothing are all in both.
all I really am after past the india stuff in april is the deep fryer and icecream machine XD

Awesome- check your CYS on the best of 2010 then- you're probably close enough, you might not need to buy those other DDs.
The April 2012 will sadly still be roughly 657 sp after the Indian items. This is how I'm planning to complete April 2012:
735 Haute Hacienda Kitchen- Cantina Canister 16sp
849 Sizzle Baby Pro Deep Fryer 140sp
858 Haute Hacienda Kitchen- Talavera Tile Counter 21sp
904 Haute Hacienda Kitchen- Cantina Curtains 23sp
939 Haute Hacienda Dining Room- Desert Cactus Sculpture 7sp
Thanks for the outfit you sent me! It's one of my favorites in the entire set!
@LadybugLeslie
yes when the dd comes around for the best of 2010 I can just pick it up too
and I will make sure to pick up those other items for the april set too then. thank you

Hey @LadybugLeslie hope everyone is feeling better today I'm not sure if you've looked at the Romanza set but I thought I'd put it out there since the full set is coming up on the DD in a couple of days. I've noticed that a few people try to complete the Romanza Ceremony + Reception 485 spts and Romanza Ceremony + Attire 636 spts. Both of these sets aren't CYS enabled and it seems like a way better deal to go for the full set "Romanza Ceremony, Reception + Attire which is enabled and on the current DD list at a great deal - 71% off! The set's full value is 1160. I currently own 8 of 39 items that have a value of 335 or 27% CYS. When I plug the numbers into Eliana's calculator using DD # 662 it says I will owe 5 spts. So, instead of spending 1121 spts (485+636) I can get both sets for 340 spts using DD # 662.
There are currently 8 items from this complete set on the DD. Those item's value add up to 228 spts but would only cost 142 spts to buy thru the DD. Pick up another 110 spts value and you can have both sets for approximately 252 points (142 + 110). It would be impossible for people to go this route at this point since all of the deals will occur after 662 but it's certainly worth consideration to start now and get 662 when it comes around again. Like before, I would appreciate it if you would please double and triple check my numbers to be sure
I now Own the Store!!...Thank you to everyone who helped me get here

The kids had a relapse over the weekend and we missed our superbowl party But they are both on the upward swing now! AND.... I'm pregnant! And I'm just starting to have some morning sickness, so that's why I've been a little quiet on the forum. I am napping a lot in the afternoons, which is highly unusual for me, so that is cutting into my sims/forum time.
But as to your romanza info-yes! This is how I'm personally planning to get the set I just wasn't sure if people were interested in this kind of info, since I mostly just copy and paste the info from the "part of set" tab on the Awesome DD spreadsheet.
You need a CYS of 740 to get the set free on DD, which means you need items totaling up to 338 SPV. And as you said, there is 228 SPV on the DD list, which just leaves you 110 SPV short. Although, unless you are able to get the other 110 SPV on sale or as a gift, you are better off just paying the DD cys, which will be 98 sp. There are also two items in the Quaint Cottage Collection that aren't on the DD list, and 2 items that are also in the Monarch Suite, so some people might be able to get a little more SPV from the featured looks.
Maybe I should make the second post on the thread just for things like this, not exactly cascades, but still the cheapest way to acquire sets... Thoughts?
Congratulations, @LadybugLeslie. And sorry you had to miss your superbowl party. Hope your kids are really truly better now and won't have any relapses.
And I think you should just include the information about how to acquire sets the cheapest way. Using the second post of the thread sounds good, but I think this information would definitely be useful for people.
