I could tell that toddler Lynda has point ears! Aren't you so happy to see that? Even though she isn't your heir, they are still being passed down to future generations.

You survived the passing of the first generation so well! And, I was thinking the same thing when I saw all the generational pictures. Just where will the others go? You'll have to use MOO and stack them well!

Thank you for another great chapter!

It is sad that Nichol and Zach have passed away. It is a sad update but it is nice that they are together. Thankyou for sharing the pictures of their passing away with us.
It is nice that you have the family pictures to keep of them to display on the walls of the home. I look forward to the next update of your legacy story :)

I figured you would as you are quite observant! I do enjoy seeing them even though Kayla is my only heir to have a pair. It will be interesting to note who has them and who doesn't as the generations continue in my legacy.

    Thus far,
    Nichol
    Nikki and Kayla
Nikki's son, Bobby, and her daughter, Lynda
    Kayla's daughter, Rosie

Pointy ears 6; Witch 1 (Zach)

Thanks. I handled their passing on so much better than I thought I would. I even think my texts to Tanu were fairly calm and not my usual freak out when something new-to-me happens. I guess part of me is excited to see what happens next LOL

Thank goodness for MOO Magic! I shall have to play around and find some configurations that I like.

I'm so glad you liked it. Losing loved ones is hard, but I think both my Sims and I handled it pretty well.

Thanks, Rose! I truly appreciate your taking the time to follow the stories both Tanu and I are sharing here. You are a marvel and I sit here in wonder/awe just thinking about the volume of posting you must surely do throughout the entire forum.

I have taken festival pictures and periodically placed them here & there in other games, but this is the first time I thought to place them together in one room. I really like how it looks with them all grouped together (reminds me of something a grandmother would do) and I wish my brain had fired off this particular idea many games ago LOL

I will certainly be using it in each game from here on out!

Addy was quite calm about their passings! And after I had told her husband to buy stock in Kleenex too! Lol

It's funny Addy got the red hair and pointy ears to pass down but not the witch. In my game it's all black hair but they are all witches. The games took different turns for us each right out of the gate. The only difference when we started the game was that in Addy's Zach was the witch while in mine the witch was Nichol. Interesting. :)

It is nice seeing how the families are going in both of your games Tanu and Addy :) It is fun seeing both the differences and the similarities.

Nice update ladies. :) It's sad to see both Nichol and Zach have passed on, but looking forward to seeing more from you both. :)

    Addy's Game:
    PROM Day!
Kayla and Jeremey sit down with both Reiley and Rosie and take turns talking.

Jeremey: “Even though Grandpa Zach and Grandma Nichol aren’t here with us, they wouldn’t want you two to miss your prom.”

Kayla: “They both loved music and dancing. Request some of their favorite songs and dance your little hearts out in memory of them.
Be surrounded by friends and have as much fun as possible.”

Jeremey: “Besides… I know a certain young lady would be sad if her boyfriend didn’t escort her. Please don’t cause her a world of hurt, son.”
Kayla chimes in with, “Hold her close and let her help comfort you. I know she’d want to.
Your frequent telephone calls and whispered conversations over the past couple of days speak volumes on this matter.”

    It is time! Time to...
see what the next generation will be like!

    Generation 2
    Family Structure: Couple ~ yes
Number of Children: 2 ~ yes
    Careers: Author and Artist
At the time Reiley ages into YA,
    1) Kayla (Author) is a Prize Winning Artist - L8
    2) Jeremey (Artist) is a Master of the Brush - L10
Generational Goal: Fulfilled ~ working on it
LTWs HAVE been obtained: Kayla for "Professional Author" and Jeremey for "The Culinary Librarian"
Wishes are still being pinned and fulfilled as both have days before reaching Elder stage
Miscellaneous Fun: Runs in the Family ~ yes
I wrote down all of the traits that Kayla and Jeremey had & rolled a die. The trait that was passed along to Reiley and Rosie is Easily Impressed

I consider Generation 2 to be a success!

Tanu - I think we must say that the mom's genetic (read: supernatural) traits are much stronger than the dad's!

Addy - Wow, you covered a lot! I like the wrap up of the generation in measuring success. Great graduation pics!
Do you think Johnnie is now having so many children in order to stick around longer? (I think he has Grim figured out as a softie where kids are concerned.) I love the soccer playing pics and the hug afterward!

A mediocre non-heir?! That seems to be the case for most non-legacy heirs.

I still love seeing "my" house in your game.

Thanks for another update. Now you both have young adult heirs in the same generation waiting to tell their stories. I look forward to seeing their adventures.

I enjoyed looking at the pictures and reading your descriptions and story in your update. :) It was great to read, see and hear what has been happening in their lives. Congratulations to Reiley and Rosie being crowned Prom King and Queen! It is nice prom pictures that they had taken of their prom night. Congratulations to them on their graduation as well! I am sorry that Rosue was voted that she would be mediocre though! The graduation photos of the graduating sims together are very nice. It is nice that Zach and Nichol as ghosts are continuing to visit the home. The home looks very pretty in Wintetime with the snow on the house and on the surrounding ground, and the twinkly lights on the roofing.
It was a very nice update :)

I did! The days & events just flowed together and stacked upon one another that I couldn't think of a nice way to separate them (or was too antsy in my telling that I didn't want to LOL). I think the measuring of success is a neat way to let everyone know how I did with each component of the generation.

    Great graduation pics!

Thanks! I had more, much more - graduation, birthdays, ghost visits and others that landed on the cutting room floor. It is rather obvious how much I like playing this family and just about every time I play I see a story waving at me. I shall start paring down a bit more with this generation forward or I will never reach Generation 10! LOL

I think he must be. He turned Elder before Zach and Nichol did, then they had Bobby. Shortly after Bobby came Lynda and then Dorian. Eventually they will either
1 - run out of room in the house for more kids
2 - Nikki will age up to Elder (she is an Adult and should be close to her birthday any day now, I think) or
3 - Nikki will just say enough is enough <- doubt it because she seems to like being pregnant

LOL - these "awards" given by peers has me wondering how many different ones there are.

Me too! Now I just have to figure out where to build on as I have an interest in learning how to can produce/make jam because I have never used this item before. Trying to maintain the integrity of the house as I go.

Again me too! It will be interesting to see what Jasper gets up to on his quest to woo women and then look at Reiley with his easier generational rolls/rules. I told Tanu that my next heir might have the rolls that make me go O.o

Thank YOU very, very much dear Rose! My storytelling seems to be all over the place in regards to format and lengthiness, but these Sims just love tapping my creative muse on the shoulder and whispering in her ear buzz buzz buzz. I didn't think I would see ghosts as several days passed and nothing happened, but once Nichol came... one or the other have appeared each night. Is it possible for both to arrive and visit? Rosie is so pretty and I grew quite attached to her so I was a bit sad to see her move out of the house. Speaking of house... Ciane made a MARVELOUS house and I am truly enjoying using it with this family.

Tanu's Game ~ Generation Three ~ Jasper Finishes University

Jasper's first Love since he was a small boy was cooking. His second Love of women could, however, threaten his dream of becoming the best chef that Riverview had ever seen. About the middle of the second year of University he figured out that if you only gave your second Love a night or two of your attention it would be easier to concentrate on his studies. As a result of this Jasper didn't have just one girl he dated in college but a steady stream of woman with hope of becoming his girlfriend in their eyes.

He would flirt with them, coax them, take them out, but when things started to become too serious or they demanded too much attention from him ~ he would end it and move on...

    2nlwx78.jpg

And then there were his two roommates his last year ~

    a16ejt.jpg

He would call Hannah often ~

    k00vuo.jpg

And believe it or not he was a great student! He spent many hours studying in the library ~

    jz6yie.jpg

and read every book on cooking or recipe's he could get his hands on.

    4i0t5e.jpg

Sometimes he would stay up so late looking up new ways to cook chicken that it took a toll on his class time!

    6enblv.jpg

And sometimes he would find he over did a certain recipe, Lol!

    qyitn6.jpg

He found that cooking for his classmates had it's benefits ~ Like holding an umbrella on a rainy day.

    oa8xdv.jpg

He didn't have much to do the last two days of his time at University but sit outside his old fraternity and brood.

    oi9kc1.jpg

    bi4fmp.jpg

And then just like that he had graduated and was waiting for transportation to the airport

    9qfxhv.jpg

He took a last look at the University as his plane climbed into the air. He hoped that once he got home things would be better between he and his Mom.

    10hw1lv.jpg

But when he arrived home later that night Rorie was practicing her spell casting in the rain. She barely acknowledged him as he passed her.

    Tanu's Game ~ Generation Three ~ Jasper's surprise

Jasper felt at home the minute he walked in the door when he heard Hannah yell from the kitchen.

"Jas is that you? I'm so excited you're home! I have so much to tell you! Get in here silly!"

Jasper walked into the kitchen and into his sisters embrace.

    2rp4axt.jpg

"I Love you so much Jas!" She said smiling.

"I Love you too Hannah but don't tell anyone." He grinned and felt himself relax for the first time in months. Hannah seemed to have that effect on him. She was the only person he felt safe with and that he could let his guard down with. "What's all this news you have for me?"

"Oh it can wait a day or two" She led him over to the table. "First tell me all about your last semester."

"There isn't much to tell I haven't already told you on the phone." It turned out there was much more than he thought as they stayed up until the middle of the night talking about professors and fellow students and laughing about silly things until their sides hurt. "Hannah I've missed you so much. And I can't believe you're all grown up now." They hugged tightly before heading off to bed. Jasper slept the best he had in forever with nothing bothering his sleep at all.

Over the next few days Rorie made some attempts at bonding with her son. One common ground they could agree on was magic and she was quite proud of her broom riding skills.

    2hg61w3.jpg

And he made attempts at some of his own spells. For some reason he liked doing this around the graves of his family. Sort of made him feel closer to them. He also thought it was cool the way the family's gnomes hung out back there. He remembered the graduation gnomes hanging out in his luggage from Uni and figured he should let them free to play on the property.

    27ycva8.jpg

And he spent time on his Grampa's computer trying to find the perfect job. He was hoping to get one in a really good restaurant in which he could eventually be the Master Chef.

    t6uo8w.jpg

After he'd been home a month or so Hannah pulled him aside.

"Jasper remember I told you that I had something to tell you the night you came home?"

"Sure, I do now that you reminded me." He chuckled. "What's up buttercup?"

"You're not going to like it Jas." She took a deep breath. "I'm afraid you'll think I'm leaving you or something but I'm not. Jas, I'm a grown woman now and I need to get on with my life." She took another breath. "I'm moving out the beginning of next week."

    1816h3.jpg

Jasper didn't say anything for awhile. He wouldn't look at her. Of course she needed to have her life. He knew that. And she couldn't have that here. He knew that too. And he knew this day was coming. When he spoke his voice was low and his words were careful.

"I'm happy for you Hannah. I really am! You deserve so much in your life. I want the best for you and I want you to be so very happy. I won't lie though. I'm scared we won't stay close when you have your husband and family and your life is somewhere else."

She grabbed him and held him close. "Nothing will change what we have Jas. You are my brother and I love you so much! You just about brought me up and I will always Love you!"

The next few days were spent packing up Hannah's things and when she left Jasper went back into the house and up to her room. He stood looking at the empty dresser and the spot where Posey had always been. He knew she Loved him and was close to him but they always leave. It is just the way it is. And he is always left standing alone.

Two nights later he was looking up recipes on the computer when he heard a noise on the porch. He listened for a moment and all was quiet so he went back to what he was doing. Then he heard it again.

He went out onto the front porch. There he found a baby just laying on the door step. A simple note pinned to his blanket.

    Jase.

Then he saw the other baby and looked down at her. Her note read Jenna.

He looked around and there wasn't anyone to be seen. He picked up the boy and walked around the yard as if that would make someone appear. He wasn't sure what to do with the babies. Why were they here? And who left them?

    28sc22b.jpg

He took them inside and that's when he noticed the note in Jenna's blanket. He took it out and read.

'The babies are yours Jasper. I wasn't with anyone else. I can't explain but I can't keep them...not now. I know you will give them a good life Jasper. Jenna was born first. Then Jase a few minutes after. Please forgive me for not telling you I was pregnant. I just...well...I couldn't...I didn't know how. And at first I thought I would just raise them. I can't....Please take care of them well. I do Love them....I just can't.....

The bottom of the note had an attempt at a smile drawn on it but it wasn't signed.

Jasper let the note fall to the floor and just stood rooted in place. Mine? What? Wait? Mine? Twins? But..... Mine? Who? Wait? Twins???? Mine???????

Jenna began to cry just then and he turned to look at her as if she was in a dream he was having. Then he did the only thing he could think of....

    "MOM!!!!!!! Help!!!!! MOM!!!!"
  • cianeciane Posts: 16,996 Member
I knew he'd yell for his mom when you said he did the only thing he could think of. Twins! Oh, my! I love the names! This is going to be interesting. And his sister left just a little too soon, I think. She could have helped alot!

I'm glad he did well in college and only spent the weekends having fun with women. I am looking forward to what happens next.

Addy, just add a basement to the house! My grandmother's house had a basement where all the canned goods were kept. It was off the kitchen.

Good idea! I suppose I wasn't thinking of a basement because the house has a foundation and I know basements can be difficult to add in after the fact, but... I am up to the challenge of figuring out how to do this and make it look good!

Now that my brain is spinning around and around, I recall...
My great aunt (in Georgia) had a separate building on her property that everybody called the Florida house and it was where all of her canning took place. It was attached to his workshop/garage and there was an outdoor shower room in the back.

Choices, choices. We'll see what I come up with :)

I was surprised when it was twins lol The girl popped up first so I am considering her the heir for the next generation. Her brother will be a bonus as my roll for this generation was three children who are all half siblings to each other. So Jasper will need to father two more children. And yes I wouldn't have moved Hannah out quite so soon, lol Especially since Rorie is of little help.

Apparently the weekends was all it took :p Or maybe it happened on a vacation home. Hmmmm wonder if we'll ever see/find out who the Mom is......

It was great reading your updates @Tanu. :) I wasn't expecting though for Jasper to find two babies on the front door of his home! I hope that he can build his relationship with his Mother. With Rorie now a grandma, it may bring her and Jasper closer togetyer. It is very nice the brother and sister relationship of Hannah and Jasper.
I will look forward to the next update! :)
  • tanubanuetanubanue Posts: 4,116 Member
Thanks Rose :) I think the twins may help Jasper and Rorie get along better. They really have such a love hate relationship. They'll be talking all nice to each other one moment and the next being mean to each other. Their relationships are in the green but not by much. Hannah and Jasper were always laughing, talking, and hugging. And now that she's moved out she calls him at least once a day and stops over now and then. I didn't want to move her out but I had decided at the beginning of the legacy siblings will move out when they become young adults.

I will probably do a small update today again. B)

Tanu's Game ~ Generation Four ~ One Plus One

Rorie came flying down the stairs and into the living room where she stopped short at seeing Jasper with a baby in his arms and another plopped in the chair. Jasper was standing with his legs against the chair so the child didn't fall out. He has a desparate look on his face and by this time both infants were red faced and screaming. She crossed the room and picked up the other baby.

"Jasper who's babies are these? You didn't tell me you were going to baby sit." She said loudly over their crying. She started to the kitchen. "We don't have any formula so we'll have to warm a bit of milk then head to the store. Did the parents leave a diaper bag?" Jasper didn't say a word but went back outside combing the front porch and yard. There he spotted a small bag. Bringing it inside he found a couple of containers of formula and a few diapers. He took it to the kitchen and set it on the table.

    20gyybn.jpg

After the babies were fed he and Rorie sat at the table each holding one of the babies. "Phew I'm glad we could get them fed and changed." Rorie said blowing a strand of hair out of her eyes. "What time are their parents coming for them? I need to get to work but I don't think you're ready for twins." She smiled at the baby and then looked up at Jasper.

He hadn't said anything aside from "How much do you heat it?" or "Am I doing it right?" Or "How do I know she's full?" Since Rorie had come to help him. Now he looked at Rorie his mind racing and still in shock from finding the babies.

"Ummmm..." Was all he could say.

"Ummmm?" Rorie raised an eyebrow at him. He took the note from his pocket and pushed it at her across the table. She read it quickly and looked up at him. "Yours? Jasper who's the Mom?"

    "Ummm...."

"What do you mean Ummm? Who were you with?" Rorie was starting to get irritated. "Jasper it's a simple question."

He shifted in his chair. "Maybe, but it's not a simple answer. I don't know who the Mom is." He went on to name different women that he had dated. He sank lower into the chair realizing how it sounded that he had dated so many different girls.

"Jasper! Really? Have you no respect for them? What about yourself?" Rorie's voice was so calm it was frightening.

    "I didn't think...."

She cut him off. "No you didn't and now you and I may both be holding the consequences of your actions." She stood up Jase sleeping happily in her arms. "Come on let's go then I'll call into work."

    "Where are we going?"

"The hospital for a paternity test to make sure your their father and then the second hand store. We need another crib and some clothes. Then we need to get diapers and formula and a few other things." She turned to look at him. "Jasper if these babies are yours I'm their Grandmother and you aren't alone in this. I'll help you figure it out."

Later on that day he was upstairs in the nursery with the babies. They had finally settled down.

    bigrd.jpg

Jenna began to make little noises so Jasper picked her up and held her close. "I don't know how I know for sure but I do. You're my daughter. I'm going to do my best for you and your brother. I think that...well I think I already Love you guys."

    2zsu3wm.jpg

Meanwhile Rorie was in the bathroom checking for wrinkles in the mirror. Grandmother? Already? But she was still so young looking!

Love it! I think the bond will grow between Rorie and Jasper now with the twins as a very strong link! Maybe the possible moms will all come visit Jasper and stay to coo over the babies for a bit so we can wonder which one it might be. I vote for one of his roomies!

Jasper will be a very nice Dad to his twins :) It is a very special picture of him holding little Jenna. I think that deep down Rorie will enjoy being a grandma to her little grandchildren. Hannah will be a great Aunt when she comes visiting.
