how do you actually make bunk beds because I tried and it just made the bed bigger using shift+]

But you can make usable bunk beds if you make them in an L-shape. You have to space them just right to get them to work, but it does work.

you can make them but u can't use them - that is why this is a NECRO or dead thread

You have to download "Zero footprint mattresses", put them on some kind of platform - even an oversized shelf will work, and move them using MOO. Since there's no animation in the game, they just sorta stretch their arms and pop up to the top bunk bed, but it IS functional. Here's some pics (mostly me testing out loft beds and day beds, along with toddler bunks) Yes, it's a little wonky getting in and out of them, but if you are pressed for space and don't mind a little wonkiness, they do work.
