Still reinstalling, but managed to get to "Happy New Year '11" set before my Launcer failed to recognise me, so I had to sign in through the Launcher, install "Happy New Year '11" set and then reinstall the sets and Riverview I installed last night. But once I reinstall I will try and play The Oakley Legacy Reboot and see if the items show up (I know I had plants from the "Bohemian Garden" set in the Oakley Family's garden as well as the Golf Course and a Community Garden I built). If the items show up when I next play then I know it was because the files I had was outdated. At the moment I am reinstalling the sets before I reinstall the individual items.

@Nikkei_Simmer but you haven't finished building that house yet have you? I bet it will grow.

@Tamijo I think the mirror pictures were very instructive. When I was learning a bit about doing manual focus with the camera they were explaining if taking a photo in the mirror you need to know the distance from the camera to the mirror as well as the distance from the mirror to the thing being reflected to know the distance to the thing you were photographing. I never could quite follow their logic so I'd just make sure it looked like my camera was focusing.

    Episode 44 – Time Flies - June 2727 part 2

The weather the next few weeks of June was no better than the first part, quite the opposite sometimes it rained so hard, that you could hardly see from one end of the village to the other.

    tKKlnjb.jpg

For the 2nd time there was a group performance in Greg’s River. It was Jenny Richards singing and playing guitar and Anders Karlson on drums. They opened with Jenny’s Time Flies. The performance was held at Forest Rescue Center. The “unknown” blonde man in the picture is Andy Mclain leader of the construction project.

    jRKRpKl.jpg

Mateo Mercier was so happy that his mother finally got a proper job at the fashion house.
Magdalena Mercier took him to visit while Mussete was working and he gave mummy a big hug. Magdalena left them to have some family time together, relaxing in a nice sofa in the tattoo building.

    wkm8579.jpg

    1P9k9ob.jpg

Jiro Nara is very fond of the mail delivery boy coming once or twice a month to deliver letters, the news and smaller packages. Often taking time to chat with her, even though he is getting busier with the extended village size. His name is Jon.

    9WjFp1r.jpg

Magdalena Mercier seems to be completely over her "baby blues" depression. She has now moved Pierre’s crib into her bedroom. To indicate that she can handle the baby herself. Today also Mateo has chosen to sleep in aunt Magdalena’s bed.

    KDSq56R.jpg

As oppose to last month there was very little activity at Pegasus Café, sometimes they even closed early as there was nobody there even before midnight.

    21911My.jpg

Off course there was rumors of Mussete Mercier’s romantic escapades. Most people just had a resigned smile on their lips, but it was different with Jane Harper, she could not stand the sight of her. Things became a bit more complex as Jane took the tattoo job in the fashion house and they now worked at the same lot. After a hefty argument about Mussete’s treatment of Greg, Jane gave her a punch.

    gpHzUL6.jpg

Lucky for Jane, Mussete did not officially accuse her for the attack, knowing how embarrassing a court case would be for herself. Jane Harper now spent most of the time at work just outside the house, to avoid further confrontations.

    E4Vns1w.jpg

Myra Frances and John Hallett had a romantic meeting outside Greg's River Dump, a good isolated location for love hungry teens to meet, besides the terrible smell from the garbage.

    v4PO5TP.jpg

After some kissing and holding hands. Myra was cold and tired, wanting them to head home, but John was not tired and felt like looking for a bit of something in the trash. Leaving his girlfriend to walk home alone in the darkness.

    owsXOzU.jpg

Greg Preston was probably heart broken. He must have known that Mussete was unfaithful. But seen with Pongo eyes it was all perfect, again being Greg’s only love.

    q40vPd7.jpg

Michiko Vaughan took the 3rd job in the “River fashion house”, specialising in closes, accessories and hairstyles for the “Plus 40 Y” villagers, as she called it. Michiko and Mussete had always been friends, or rather Michiko was accepted as the “Grandma” of the settlement, respected and liked by everyone. Anyway, they had fun together, important when sharing the fashion shop.
Today Anders was there looking for a new jacket, but he did not buy anything. Maybe because the household did not have the coins for anything not strictly necessary.

    n7LfIcu.jpg

Nicholás Valiente was over at the Nara’s having a chat and a little food with Shina Nara. Nothing romantic about it, Botan Nara was also home, just too busy to sit down and eat.

    7UYR6zF.jpg

Near the end of the month the trade caravan came to the village. Harald Dahl and Nicholás Valiente got all their furniture and stuff they could not bring themselves. Both very happy to get a little on the walls and open the home bar.

    Marked Sales from this Period:

    Scully household:
    1. A rare Manuscript $350
    Mercier household:

    2. Eggs 67$

    Editorial:
This month yearly taxes were collected and “family donations” came from “Ent”, notably the tax is close to 14.000 and donations will end when we reach 18.000.

    xswGRub.jpg

The Shower broke down at Greg’s, but the got another bath so no panic (yet)
Did a few “directed actions” on Harald Dahl, to fix an error with Greg’s River Dump
Directed some settlers to sell at the trade station
    Everything else was autonomy

With the construction project done, time to make a new map.

@texx78 Arriving in Egypt is spectacular.

Regarding the zombies, I've gradually become to look forward to the zombies. I used to be terrified one of my sims might get turned into a zombie. When it finally happened I was instantly mortified until I watched my poor sim and then it was so funny I wanted it to happen again, but it's only happened once since Supernatural was released. I've found it's almost impossible for me to get my sim attacked by a zombie and turned into a zombie as a result.

Zombies are very easily led astray. If you have one of the slot machines, putting it outdoors on your lot will result in zombies lining up to gamble on it. They also line up to get a go at a rocking chair. They love to destroy plants, but if they kill your plants and you have a sim with the green thumb trait and gardening level of 5 or above then that sim can attempt to revive any dead plants. Barren plants can't be revived but anything that is dead can be. This is very useful as sometimes they die of neglect and death flower plants are dead after the first time they are harvested. Death flowers become barren after a second harvest. Zombies can't get into your garden if it is in a secure greenhouse or inside a fenced off area provided there are no breaks in the fence. One way I check if a fence is secure is I put a gate in it and lock it, if the option to lock the gate is not available then there is a gap somewhere in your fence. You need to lock the gates or doors to keep the zombies out of your garden. In one game I had a garden in an upper floor of my house. The external door to the garden wasn't locked. The zombies went inside that upstairs room and destroyed parts of the garden. Luckily my sim had the green thumb trait and high gardening skill so he was able to revive the plants the zombies had killed.

I remember being so upset when Supernatural EP was first advertised. I was into building at the time and there were so many build items in the EP that I really wanted but I didn't want all of those Supernaturals in my games. But over the years since then I often enjoy having supernaturals in my towns. I have them all turned off in Options though so I can control who is an occult. I started doing this when Christopher Steel and Gobias Koffi were turned into a werewolf and a witch respectively. I was so unhappy about that I just had to prevent it happening again.

I hope you finally work out a way of removing zombies or just ignoring them or incorporating them into your game.

@Karritz thank you so much for this tips! I also wasn't into supernaturals before. Actually Supernatural ep was one of my latest buys from sims 3. But when i decided to buy it i fell in love with it! Zombies are the ones i never played with and i remember how sad i was when they destroyed my witches' garden once... I will fence my garden and try the rocking chair approach :) (i think i don't own a gambling machine... was that a store item? I have all ep's and sp's but only a few store items and two or three worlds...).

The game should give you a pop up showing the mods you have installed like in sims 4, but i am not sure if this happens with all mods? i know at least some of the ones i use get listed in the pop up window.

As for zombies, you can avoid the full moon itself but yes i think you need a mod to prevent them if you want to keep full moons. Have fun!! Architect is on my list of features i wanna try soon too!!

@Mareah should the pop up show right after the game loads, in the main menu? It def didn't show in my game... now i'm worried, cause it means that overwatch and error trap also aren't working...

I downloaded them to documents/ea/sims 3/mods... what can be wrong...?

The custom "fixed" worlds i have downloaded are working. I'm playing in one of them and they all show up in the main menu.

About zombies, i really like the full moon. I remember it gives a nice boost to witches and romance... but i think i'll make the cicle lasts longer so that i can only have to deal with them once in a big while  In another thread i was given some really nice advise, like locking my garden and placing a rocking chair outside, maybe in the porch. It seems that zombies are crazy for rocking chairs

Here is the pop up i get and down below is how my mods folder looks from the inside, almost all my mods go into the packages folder unless stated otherwise by the creator.

As for zombies, yep you can lock your garden to keep them out, and that rocking chair trick sounds nice too haha!

    Mary Kendall, A Ghost Story
    Plans

Bekka completes the job for Carly who is very happy with her new entertainment area. Carly excitedly tells Bekka she will recommend her to all her friends. Bekka is happy with how things are going in her career with several new job opportunities this week. Her friends and family have rallied around her and forgiven her for her isolation this last year. She will be visiting and helping her new friends this evening. Her heart tightens in eager anticipation thinking about seeing Jamie. She pulls out her list and writes happy...excited on it.
    51110101175_439d7c0b4e_o.jpg

Stopping by the grocery store Bekka picks up food for supper not knowing what they would have on hand. Jamie greets her on the porch with a gentle hug that makes her feel safe, cared for and wanting more. She hugs him back and wonders what he feels as she touches him. He carries her bags into the kitchen and sets them down on the counter. He tells her about the research they are doing trying to find an experienced witch so she shoos him out of the room and he goes back to work.
    51109322196_78929f45aa_o.jpg
    51110101125_011a3108c8_o.jpg

She looks around the kitchen and wishes the modern appliances had arrived. She does not trust this old oven and does not want to burn the meal. Bekka unpacks the food and places everything on the cutting board. Using her powers, she prepares the meal the genie way.
    51109071049_392cd8fddc_o.jpg
    51109322126_4a09d3bf78_o.jpg
    51110101035_ac7e0db6b1_o.jpg

Jamie, back in the living room sits down and looks over at Damien. “Have you found anything yet?” he asks.
“I’ve got one potential match. I’ve sent off an inquiry and hope to receive a response soon.”
“I will get busy and complete my list.”
They both get back to working, Damien on his computer and Jamie on his tablet.
    51109322151_bba8cec04c_o.jpg

Watching Layla sleep has allowed Mary too much time to think. The prophecy is strange, and she wonders what in the world it meant. She doesn’t want to get upset thinking about it, so floats to the attic and drags an end table into the room. Mary places the potions on top and hopes that she will be able to persuade Layla to drink them.
    51108753377_0b94652f15_o.jpg

The meal is ready, and Bekka calls everyone to eat. They all enjoy the meal that Bekka prepared. Jamie waves his fork in the air as he talks. “This is delicious Bekka. I don’t know how you coaxed that old stove to not burn the food.”
Bekka beams with pleasure, but knows she must be honest with him and the others. “Genie magic,” she tells the group. “I don’t think even Rachel SimRay could pull off a decent meal out of that oven! The temperature is totally off in the oven. I don’t use my magic to cook at home, but that stove intimidates me. I need to put a rush on the appliance order to get this kitchen in better shape for you."
    51109322106_ba6d6cea69_o.jpg

They finish their meal and Bekka uses her magic to clean the table so they can continue talking without dirty dishes in the way. Damien and Jamie researched all the names and only two out of all the possibilities seem to have the experience needed. Damien has sent an inquiry to one who lives in China. The other is listed as living in Monte Vista and an email was sent as well.
Mary informs them about Emmaline’s visit and a potential cure for the curse. The elements must be acquired in Shang Simla. “Emmaline said she could make it if we gather what is needed. She supplied me with a list.”

Jamie looks around at the others at the table, his eyes settling on Bekka. “It looks like I’m going to Shang Simla to find the stuff for the potion. Perhaps I can contact the witch while I am there and convince them to help us.
    51109225088_3e2730c7b6_o.jpg

Bekka and Mary talk downstairs while Damien checks his computer for messages. Jamie goes upstairs to check on Layla.
He watches Layla sleep and is saddened by what he sees. He has known her for a long time but not in a romantic way. He has aided her with clients in the past and she helped him out of a jam a time or two. He doesn’t really consider her a close friend, but he wouldn't wish this curse on even an enemy. One cannot really be friendly with an oracle, or at least this one in particular. She is definitely arrogant and snobbish, difficult to get along with and inclined to think only she knows best.
    51110100880_98236649f8_o.jpg

Damien obtains an answer from the witch in Monte Vista. She will not be available to help with Mary's situation. He hopes the one in China will work out.
    51109070914_f57209809c_o.jpg

Mary asks Bekka to use her magic to get the bird perches out of the attic room so Sherlock will not disturb Layla. “Please transfer them to the master bedroom. Your genie magic must be a real help with your job.”
“It is!” Bekka agrees. “There are still many things that must be done by hand, but I can move heavy furniture around on my own and not have to hire help.”
They walk up to the master bedroom, so Bekka can move the bird tree's into the room.
Sherlock seems happy to have his perch back and squawks and screeches and preens his feathers.
    51108753187_ed73360f6c_o.jpg
    51110100800_365e6b1420_o.jpg

The bird perch suddenly disappears from the room disturbing Jamie's thoughts. He shakes his head wondering if Bekka is using her magic. The other perch disappears as well. Layla stirs on the bed as if the magic stimulated her to wake up. Jamie thinks, Ok, I guess that is a good thing. I need to talk to Layla and let her know what we have found out about the curse.
    51108753132_201ceaa130_o.jpg

Layla sits up and tries to stand. She all but falls down at Jamie’s feet. He grabs her arms to prevent her hitting the floor and encourages her to sit on the bed. She refuses to lie back down. “I will be fine Jamison. I’m never ill! Quit hovering over me.”
“I bet you have never passed out cold for several hours after a session with the Fates before. If I wasn't hovering, you would be lying on the floor right now.”
“What! I never!,” she exclaims. “Jamison, you are testing my patience. You must be feverish or ill yourself living in this Fate Forsaken frozen town. I can’t believe I came to this place when I should be discovering a cure for myself, not assisting you. You owe me a considerable debt this time, and you will pay. Now, get out of my way, so I can get out of this place and back to civilization and my search. I’ll have you know..."
    51109224973_51da8a70cb_o.jpg
    51109224933_cd0c699733_o.jpg
    51109321886_b912007b4e_o.jpg

Her words are cut off as Mary bursts into the room followed by Bekka. Mary could hear Layla from the stairwell and she is not happy with her. “You almost died lady! I don’t care who you are, a world renowned oracle, a no talent shill, or the Queen of the 🐸🐸🐸🐸. You almost died! You will lay off arguing with those of us who are only trying to help you. You were out cold, unconscious, not even arousable for the last several hours. Jamie carried your all but lifeless body up here rather than leave you on the cold floor downstairs. We had Emmaline, a healer witch come check on you and you didn’t even rouse during her examination. For the last several hours I've been watching over you. Jamie is making plans to go to China to gather the ingredients needed to remove the curse from you. Emmaline can brew the potion once we provide the ingredients. She left two potions for you to take. One will help strengthen you from your spell, and the other will slow the aging process so you won’t die before the potion is made. Jamie is the only one here that probably cares whether you live or die. To be honest I don’t really care if you refuse the potions. You are extremely disagreeable, and I won't have you being cross at Jamie when all he is attempting to do is help you! If you want to leave, leave. But, Jamie owes you nothing. He didn't even blink when I told him the ingredients could only be found in Shang Simla. He just made plans to go. I can tell you right now there are not many people in this world that would do that for a friend, let alone for someone as ornery as you are. Jamie will. That's just the way he is. You should be ashamed!"
Mary snatches a deep breath and looks over at Jamie and notices the look of pride mixed with horror on his face. He hopes Layla's powers are diminished enough so Mary won't be turned into a toad or something worse right in front of their eyes.

The gambling items are all from the Store. The Casino venue has the slot machine I was talking about. It also has a black jack table. Then there is another store set with a poker table and a roulette table. The black jack, poker and roulette tables all look much the same. Here is a pic of the sims playing poker.

I've never tried putting a poker table outdoors for the zombies but it could be fun to see. Also it can be quite lucrative because if you've put them on your own lot, your sims own them and they make money if the zombies lose. Of course I suppose you might lose money if they win. I haven't seen the zombies win so don't know what would happen if they did.

Here are a lot of the slot machines in a casino I built. Some sims are in there playing too. I think I overdid it a bit by adding so many slot machines.

It's 11:26pm when I start typing this.... Tomorrow, unless I decide to load back up tonight, given the time, Carson and Annabeth Lowell's daughter Madison will become a child! She also just became a sister to a baby boy named Ryder <3

Haruo had gone out to milk the cows...and well...the photographer took this photo just as Haruo came in the door which makes for an interest tableau.

@emorrill jumping into chapter 14 of your story I feel a little bit disoriented, but from what I can tell it´s an exciting story! Love the hair colors and hints to magic.

@bekkasan thank you, since my rags to riches a few years ago I too enjoy aliens in my game. Not always but when it seems appropriate.
I hope you do share your alien game play, i would love to see it.
Gorgeous update, colorful and summery. Love that houseboat, the inside is surprisingly spacious!

@Nikkei_Simmer Awesome pics of Haruo; from very focused to absolutely insane :D

@GraceyManor interesting stories. I don´t know how you manage to keep two going at once :)

@HillyBeth Beautiful shots of the proposal.

Not unexpected for a girl like her, Mussete Mercier tried a pass on Nicholás Valiente. She was turned down.

Thanks glad you liked the picture.
Not sure I sympathize enough to think "poor", but I am colored by the fact that she is already involved with my main character. From a neutral point of view it is not nice to be humiliated in that way.

Lovely all the casino stuff, seen the slot machines before in one of your video’s, But not the Poker Table.
