It's been a long while since the last time I visited this site and this topic, but I'm finally back. I have more than one constant family now. And so much has happened in my game since back then.
Her name is Rosalind. Never thought I was going to be so in love with her, but here I am.
Rosalind likes money and expensive clothes. She was married to a rich businessman and had twin girls with him, but then they got divorced because her man was hot-headed and grumpy. She found a young boyfriend and moved with him and her daughters. Her new partner is Hal Breckenridge, Riverview's premade policeman.
She had to move from the luxurious neighborhood where she lived with her husband and find a new home, but I created her as a typical celebrity housewife, so she wasn't ready for it. However, Hal helped her a lot, and they bought someone's old house and started rebuilding it. I started with the kitchen because Rosalind is a cook in a classy restaurant, she's going to need it.
I tried to go shabby chic and I hope it looks like it. Rosalind wants Hal to marry her. She wants a family and a baby with him, but Hal has commitment issues, so he doesn't hurry with making her his wife. However, she's already expecting a daughter from him. And they're still not married. Can't wait to see what kind of a father Hal is going to be. I also wonder if he ever marries her. I mostly follow my sims' wishes and rarely force them to do what they don't want to do. So I'm dying to see how this couple is going to solve their situation.
@bekkasan, this looks great! You've inspired me to show you guys some of my Dragon Valley makeovers. I've just started playing there. And I don't have my own sims there yet. First I want to makeover the whole town.
My first rule for this save is that every elf has to become a fairy, because I don't like the fact that aside of their looks elves aren't any different from humans. And because in some cultures elves and fairies are pretty much the same thing.
My second rule is no computers, cars, phones etc.
The Eames family aka "That Pirate family".
Ohhh, I LOVE pirates!
That's why I made them look more like pirates.

I'm thinking about building them another house, maybe a houseboat or something that looks more like a temporary stay since pirates constantly travel around the world.

The Dolan family aka "The Little Red Riding Hood".
This family has a cute house by the sea.
However, the interior made my eyes bleed. I get that this is all just one big Red Hood reference, but this was horrible.
I didn't have enough time to rebuild their whole house (I'll definitely do that later), so I decided to only change their kitchen because that's where the family members spend their time together.

And Sarah's husband, Finn. I don't have a screenshot of just him, but here he is in the group photo. Haven't worked on his appearance yet. He looks pretty close to what I think is ok for this world. But I'll change his style later.

Mr.Hart: Oh, Hello Ray, She is.Come on in.
Mr Hart: Kimberly, your boss is here.

Ray: Checking in on you, I was worried, you weren't at work yesterday
and I haven't heard from you since you came over.
Kimberly: I'm just fine, thank you.
Ray: Maybe we should talk?
Kimberly: There really isn't anything to talk about.I
needed a day off from work is all.
Ray: Yes, I know..though you should have called...Lets get drinks.
Kimberly: I don't know..
Ray: Just for an hour?
Kimberly: Alright.
Ray: Do you not like me? Is that it?
Kimberly: Course I do, you're a great friend.
Ray: I'm glad you think so, but that's not what I meant.
Kimberly: Alright..If this is what you brought me out to say, then
I'm going home.I have a lot of work to do.
Ray: Well, excuse me for holding you up from doing work...Heaven
knows you haven't been to WORK, so what you're doing must be important.
Kimberly: You have some nerve....school is very important thank you very
much.And I'm leaving.
Ray: Fine.
Ray decided to grab a few drinks...apparently he has one too many and...
Kimberly started heading for the door after using the restroom, when
she found Ray, hyped up on nectar.
Kimberly: Oh, good maker. You had too much Nectar haven't you?
Ray: I have not.
Kimberly: Yes you have, you're making a spectacle of yourself.
Ray: Oh? Well then, I'll really make a show...
He hopped off the table, and walked up to Kimberly.
Kimberly: I wonder if he changed his clicks.
She did 3 taps up, 2 taps left and 1 tap down.Sure enough it opened.
Kimberly: Guess not.
Ray had been spending time in his lair since his argument with Kimberly.
She found him using his brain enhancement that Paul had created.
Kimberly: Ray? You home?
Ray: Kimberly? I was afraid I might not see you again.
Look, I'm really sorry about the other night...I didn't...
She pulled him in, cutting him off mid conversation.
Kimberly: Uh..Sorry, that was inappropriate..My fault...
Ray: Stop saying that...and come here.
Ray: You don't have to apologize..
Kimberly: I do...I was out of line the other night.I'm sorry.
Ray: I said somethings I shouldn't have, I am to.
Kimberly: There's a reason I'm here though...I have something to show you.
Ray: A time machine? You haven't been messing around with time
have you?
Kimberly: Since when would I fiddle around with unknown objects?
Ray: Have you?
Kimberly: No, I brought it here, I was tempted...believe me but I thought
it would be safer here.
Ray: Smart thinking.Where in the world did you get it?
Kimberly: At the mall.
Ray: The mall?
Kimberly: Yes, Ray.That big building with loads of shops that us girls
like to spend money in, the mall.
Ray: I know what a mall is, maker.Since its here, we can try it.But
it appears only one at a time.Wanna give it ago?
Kimberly: Absolutely, but you first.
Ray: Oh gee, thanks.So caring of you to send me into the unknown.
Kimberly: You're welcome.
Ray was pulled into the machine, which made Kimberly freak out.
Kimberly: Ugh, I don't think I want to do that...
She got tired and decided to lay down while she waited.
Ray: I am not sending her into that...that's too dangerous.
Kimberly? Where'd she go?
Ray found her in the future bed, sleeping.He smiled at her and
watched her sleep peacefully.
Ray: I'm not gonna wake her up..Good night Kimberly.
Ray: Morning kimberly, you finally woke?
Kimberly: Wait...what am I still doing here?
Ray: Ha, you fell asleep while I used the machine.I didn't have
the heart to wake you.
Ray: I gotta get ready for my day job, but your welcomed to stay here
if you'd like.
Kimberly: Thanks.
Ray: I'll see you at work tonight then?
Kimberly: Absolutely.
Not too much happening with the Joneses. Christopher is still alive at 102 Sim days. I don’t know if he’ll ever die, lol. Fawn has one day left before becoming an elder but Eric has 5 or 6. Christian moved out and is dating a woman in town. A man named Dwight Langerak moved in with the family as he is Melanie’s boyfriend. She just aged up to young adult so they’ll be married tomorrow when and if I play. Generation four isn’t far behind. I’m hoping to get my internet hooked up this week if Comcast gives me the set up kit.
In this episode life goes on at the Walker household. A new baby is born, the imaginary friends made real settle into day to day life as real teens. There are lots of traps set around the house and one of them has to deal with the consequences of having a destructive mood swing.
There is another mystery family living in Sunset Valley and we begin to get to know them. We'll be watching their progress over the next few episodes until they eventually move to live in Moonlight Falls and become very important to the Walker family.

@MadDoctor61 Was the sim a vampire? They can skill really fast and I tone them down with mods. That is really strange that his athletics was going up though with sitting on his tush playing chess. lol Only in the sims.
He wasn't a vampire. He also wasn't doing anything related to the skills he was obtaining. He was playing chess, getting athletic and fishing skill, but not logic.
I'm getting back into TS3 properly so I downloaded a bunch of maxis match make up, default skin and eyes, and a bunch of hair with maxis textures (no shiny stuff in my games, thanks!)
Spent the morning fixing up the Bunch family. My favourite premade family from TS3 and I really want to play them again but don't like how they're look and are dressed by default.
Darlene - fixed clothes, hair, jawline, made her hair a bit more of a muted blonde - it suits her more
Lisa - fixed hair, make up, completely changed all clothes for all outfits, gave her rebellious trait in missing trait slot
Arlo - minor outfit changes including not wearing his cap to bed anymore, completely changed his face as he has one of the most bizarre faces I've ever seen by default
Ethan -Made his hair and outfits a little more trendy, eyes smaller, minor changes to cheeks and jawline
Judy - new hair (not huge on it but its better than what she had), new glasses, new makeup, minor outfit changes
Jack - Fixed face completely as his jaw shape was odd, his head was far too small for his body and his eyes were misshapen, new facial hair and brows, made slightly less fat again because his head looked much too small for his body, changed lifetime wish to Become an Astronaut - makes more sense
@Magnezone welcome back. I often make sure Judy Bunch gets a fifth baby when I play Sunset Valley, even if I'm not playing the Bunch family. She needs to raise 5 to teen to get her LTW. I don't often play them directly but I often do play with a 'boarding school' in the world and rotate all of the toddlers, children and teens plus some of the young adults through it thereby making them all know each other and the town gets more lively. And I make them learn lots of skills when they are at the boarding school. That's about the only way I play the Bunch family.
@Karritz yeah, I played with the Bunch family a LOT when I was younger. I've always been fascinated with families that have a lot of children - Glarn Curious is my favourite premade character in the series, even if he's technically never been "living" in any of the game, because he had so many children, 2 of whom were alien twins.
I had to change Arlo's face this time around. His genetics are sooo unfortunate. I circumvented it when I first played them by hiding his entire face in shades and facial hair, and he actually looked good like that.
Here is Arlo and his sister's husband VJ hanging around in the graveyard (i don't remember why lol). This was back before I had my current PC and could run the game on high graphics, hence the blurriness of this screenshot.
Sound like their gathering was a complete success.

@Magnezone I haven't given them a makeover as I rarely do that with townies - I just try to accept them as they are. But I think if I were to be playing them as my main family some changes might need to be made.
Have any of you ever have a sim in your active household quit their job and join a different job autonomously? I had one of my sims in the science career and today when I loaded my save he now is in the teacher career.
@GraceyManor not that I can recall - but sims do odd things at times. For example, I'm accustomed to sending my sims out collecting and everything they want to collect is theirs. But in my current save, the one for Perfect Genetics Challenge, I see townies collecting things in front of my sim before she can get to them. For example, Connor Frio collected a ruby she was heading for, he just ran in from off screen and grabbed it. And at the greenhouse someone from town started collecting all the little suns being produced by the dancing sunflowers, and someone else started picking up seeds. It's getting very competitive for my little sims in their game at the moment.
@MrSpaceman Rosalind is a pretty Sim and it sure sounds like she’s doing good despite the divorce.
