If you haven't already, please check out LadybugLeslie's thread on how to get things for minimal simpoints The 6th paragraph of her first post details the Animal Abound glitch that gets you the swing and that Top o the Tots set for free plus the Kids 2010 compilation when you buy the Animal Play Ground set (less points than the sale price for the set you're thinking of buying)so you might want to take a look before buying the set from the sale page. Some really good info all in one place. She's definitely saved myself and many others lots of points Definitely check it out!

No, I just did a cursory check and I'm afraid I don't see any patterns either so far @notthecar but I'm not very good at detecting those. Maybe it's still too early too tell... But I did notice today when I was highlighting duplicates, that a few sets/items in this week's sales that were repeats had occurred in the same week before. For example Country Livin', Kingdom of Cambodia Bathroom and Warbling Wind Chimes appeared on the December 10th sales page as well as this weeks. Mind you while Country Livin' and the wind chimes have only made two appearances (including today's) since we started tracking, the Bathroom set has now made four!
I don't know if it would help, but I've copied and pasted my spreadsheet data below where I've stacked the deals alphabetically so you can see how many times each item/set has appeared and when. Unfortunately I haven't had time to put today's new deals in. Alternatively, if you want to manipulate the data, you could take @Trithone's spreadsheet on page one and copy it and then using tab # 2"Linear List by Week" where they are stacked but sorted by date, you could just change the sort to be done alphabetically instead.

It's great to be able to look back and compare discounts and also to see how often some of the sets repeat and repeat and repeat.
@Reachsims I know what you mean. Plus it gave me confidence to hold on to my Fifth Avenue Fashions set in hopes that it would show up again on the sale page and it did, giving me the rest for free (not to mention that it has since made a few more appearances on the list) I currently have 53% of Fanciful Fashion right now and it is unfortunately not on this last DD list but it has made one appearance on the Sale page since I started tracking it and it was for 25% off. Based on my CYS I will stop buying things now and just keep an eye on the Sales for a reappearance and hope for the best No need to over buy or be over gifted when generous gifters could be helping others is sort of my philosophy. Thank you as well for your awesome gifting directory thread, which without, I probably wouldn't be as far along in my store ownership

Trying to figure out the relationship between sets and combos has sure been tricky for me, but I think I'm getting a better feel for it--thanks to threads like this one! I now have only one combo set left that I don't own. All the other things outstanding for me are single sets or individual items. The one combo left is July 2011 Compilation. The Everyday - Cool Summer Nights is what's missing, only own 1 piece of that. But the Cool Summer Nights is coming up on DD soon, and I think that's the best way for me to go now because the compilation is at 655 pts and the DD will be 306 pts right now for me.
Yes @lanlyn it is tricky figuring out the math on the compilation and combo sets. I still use the formula of 90% of the item's value but it is usually only slightly off and still a good indication of what I need to tip the scales. Let's hope this week's new Sale's page brings some new sets and items. I'm hoping Fanciful Fashions myself since it's not on the DD list. Fingers crossed...!

I can't tell you how helpful this has been and I refer to it several times during the week while I help my family members (who live elsewhere, i.e., not with me) make their best purchasing decisions. For sets that did not make the last recurring list for the Daily Deal rotation, this is most handy for figuring out what our chances might be for obtaining some sets at a discount. I don't know if it would help, but I've copied and pasted my spreadsheet data below where I've stacked the deals alphabetically so you can see how many times each item/set has appeared and when. Unfortunately I haven't had time to put today's new deals in. Alternatively, if you want to manipulate the data, you could take @Trithone's spreadsheet on page one and copy it and then using tab # 2"Linear List by Week" where they are stacked but sorted by date, you could just change the sort to be done alphabetically instead.

It's great to be able to look back and compare discounts and also to see how often some of the sets repeat and repeat and repeat.
@Reachsims I know what you mean. Plus it gave me confidence to hold on to my Fifth Avenue Fashions set in hopes that it would show up again on the sale page and it did, giving me the rest for free (not to mention that it has since made a few more appearances on the list) I currently have 53% of Fanciful Fashion right now and it is unfortunately not on this last DD list but it has made one appearance on the Sale page since I started tracking it and it was for 25% off. Based on my CYS I will stop buying things now and just keep an eye on the Sales for a reappearance and hope for the best
