Hi all, I was just wondering if you think cars will come back in a patch at some point. since pools and ghosts already did, maybe there is a possibility of cars coming back for free. or would cars be useless without an open world? i think it'd be nice to have other things to do with them

Think TS2's cars. That is how it's going to be like.

I want better animations while on the car :flushed:

Your answer made me LOL so hard my family and dog are staring
I think it's possible for them to come in a patch just the way cars were introduced in The Sims 2 Nightlife, but I don't personally think devs would put them in the December patch, I mean they could surprise us with such feature in it, but it would be too good to be true...

Thank you for your response, I am 100% sure they won't be on in this upcoming patch, but maybe later...
I absolutely loved TS2 cars. They were far superior to TS3 cars.

what is the point to have a car in a closed world????, for me is pointless have "cars' if we can't use, or to be just a masked rabbit hole O.o(instead of the sim walk and vanish a car come and the sim vanish, still the same rabbit hole but just masked), have a car without at last the open neighborhood is just giving free money to maxi/ea.
if is about decoration use that mode.

I would like to be able to makeout and woohoo in the car just like in the Roaring Heights car
The point @Ellessarr is to make the game feel more realistic, (it's a life simulator if you forgot) and it's always better than just disapearing, at least you could see some cool animations and interactions with the car.
I would like to be able to park a car on your lot or build a garage for a car. A fixer upper would be good.
Then again, we have such small lots. Wouldn't be able to have a pool and a car
Cars in 2 gave a sense of ownership because of the interactions associated with it.
At least your sims could do things in them, like make out, woohoo, or listen to the radio. The ones in TS3 are mostly cosmetic (which isn't completely bad, because aesthetics matter a lot in a game like The Sims).
Unlike open world (which would require a serious overhaul of the game engine), I think having cars included in a patch isn't that farfetched an idea. Maybe if players want them badly enough, they'll be included soon.
Still hoping for toddlers, though. (Yes, I am one of THOSE simmers)
Race Against the Clock: Can your elder sim turn back the clock before their time runs out?
Build the pool inside the house?

I'm really hoping for toddlers too
I know they'll be added somewhere in the line
how have a car which we can't drive be more realistic"???? if is about go to work, you know not all peoples goes on a car to work, and we dont know "how close a person live to the work to need or not a car and again just see a sim enter in a car and vanish still the same of walking and vanish, it's totally pointless have a car and being unable to drive is just give free money to ea/maxis.
i will use myself as a exemple the first place where i worked a long time ago, was just behind my house, i dont needed a car to go i just needed "walk".
For starters, car dating.
I can also see them possibly making the trolly and the ship accessible to sims in like an expansion pack to downtown and such maybe.
I don't see them making the trolly and ship accessible. Its like the backdrop. Just fake
what you means car dating??? making woohoo inside the car like the telescop??? well and what more??????,
ok again have a car to "make woohoo and vanish in a rabbit hole is "real life for yours???? for me real life is being able to drive it to where i want even this means go to a load screen, have a "static" object car is not even close to have a car O.o.
I would rather have a car stop in front of my Sims house to pick them up for work. A school bus to pick the kids up for school. Even if it goes to a loading screen because its more realistic.
We might get cars now since you mentioned giving free money to maxi/ea
Even if a Sim worked in a building behind their house, you wouldn't be able to walk to it, the loading screen would kick in
