Hey guys! I've compiled a list (that will continue to grow of course) of careers, jobs and professions that I would love to see in TS4 somewhere along the road. Input and feedback welcome and greatly appreciated!
Might aswell say - ANY and EVERY career, profession, part time from the sims 3. Then add a few other.
I love the martial arts aspect - I would loooove to see a "Dojo" themed work, where you train your new comers and you have your intermediate to advanced ranks with different belts. Able to own and build your own dojo and costumize "your" dojos sign and outfit/color/ensignia.
And how about a construction career? Youre hired to build someones house - you get a budget that is set with a RNG (random number generator) - the amount varies on the "fund" the family that is requesting a new building or re-building to a current house. Example: A family with approx. a networth of 100k would be able to do a build/renovation from 3k to 80k. That would translate to min 3% and max 80% of their current worth (funds).
Id also like to see a "loanshark" kinda thing that would relate to the darker careers of Sims 4. 2 branches would be "Loanshark" and "black market merchant".
With the loanshark you could also have somekind of bank related job and profession of being an "invester"
Just some of the things thats on the top of my head at this moment. Enjoy and feel free to add ideas to whatever I just posted.
Love this. I'd also like to see thinks like manufacturing and farming.

Repairman Full-time housekeeping, too. (Some of those housecleaning could work night shifts, too.) Craft sales?
Part-time retail, "odd jobs" person, barista <-- slacker jobs.
I'd also like adults to be able to hold two part-time jobs.

This made me think of Agriculture career - where you can be a farmer who is self sufficient or a major produce company?
We cant forget Military career - This has a wide area of work, which would mean possibility for more then 2branches. Lvl 1-3 = Recruit, Private and Private 1st class Lvl 4 = You get to choose where you want to evolve your skill and this is where the possibilities are many! we have Army, Navy, Airforce, Marine and Coast Guard. And those are just the primary ones - on the side we have "black ops" Each of these categorys have alot of choices - so we cant pick all. But the highest one needs to be the highest rank you can have obviously. Army - Highest would be "General" (militaryfactory.com/ranks/army_ranks.asp) Navy - Highest would be "Admiral" (militaryfactory.com/ranks/navy_ranks.asp) Airforce - Highest would be "General" (militaryfactory.com/ranks/air_force_ranks.asp) Marine - Highest would be "General" (militaryfactory.com/ranks/marine_ranks.asp) Coast Guard - Highest would be "Admiral" (militaryfactory.com/ranks/us-coast-guard-ranks.asp) Special ranks - Green Baret, Navy Seal, Army Rangers for other use in the ranking system (Generals in Army, Marine and Airforce have different words after general, like "General Chief of Airforce Staff" This could be somewhat edited and just have it be "Airforce General","Army General" and "Marine General" same goes for Admirals.)

You're right. This is interesting. It's so hard to keep all of the careers having only two branches.. Maybe they can add new branches to existing careers and they can all have more than 2.

I love most those ideas. The film, law enforcement, education, history and musical branches are great. The dance career could have a ballet branch and a street dance branch. But they're all really good ideas.

I did have some ideas for office admin being more then a part-time job-I forgot many of them.. one level was a photocopier, and there were some others-I wanted to make a mod for Sims 3 to make Office Admin and didn't want it to just be part-time since office admins are the ones who work the most. I think the level 10 was something like Personal Assistant.
If they bring back a supernatural expansion, I'd love to see a Mad Scientist career path that allows to raise the dead as zombies. Like, if you wanted to bring back a loved one, but your culinary prowess ends at grilled cheese, then you can try to be successful in raising the dead as a mad scientist.
I would rather like that Fashion career if it was an active career, similar to The Sims Superstar's model career, but with a fashion designer table for the Designer branch.
Temp/contract jobs would be an interesting add-on -- jobs that last just a Sims week or two, or maybe even a handful of Sim weeks but have no promotion opportunities.

I totally agree on making modeling an active career. Being a supermodel is more then just being pretty. Especially with this new emotion mechanism they added to the game it'll make modeling career interesting as dealing with emotions and modeling in the same time and how it may effect their performance in a runway or a photoshoot.
Comments
Yes!! All kinds of yes. I would love a musical type career
You forgot the firefighter and babysitter professions they were my favourite.
Oh right, thank you!
I agree completely. I want one of my Sims to be a Singer or Dancer.
