How does a sim die from hysteria?

«1
I have made my sim do a lot of playful interactions. She had 5 or 6 playful things affecting her mood. The mood will not go above very playful. I thought she would get the hysteria mood. I really wanted to see how the death from laughter played out. Have you ever had a sim die from hysteria? If so what combo of things caused your sim to die from laughter?

I've never tried this before but maybe drinking a playful potion will help? (There is a playful potion right? I've suddenly forgotten)

Never seen it happen here, for which I'm grateful. (Just myself, I would rather the 'death by emotion' deaths were not in the game at all.) But as far as I know, if you just want to know what it looks like, it's in the set of animations that play on the title screen. The western-garbed female Sim is shown laughing and then sort of coughs a bit and keels over. Believe that's it.

You need to recieving at least +15 in order to become "Hysterical". Hysterical is probably the hardest emotional death to achieve. Embarassing the easier, and Anger the middle one.

For the record, it takes +6 Embarrassed points to become Mortified and +7 Angry points to become Enraged.

Positive moodlets increase an emotion. For instance, getting any moodlets that increase "happy" will also increase "playful", so if you want hysteria, use happy and funny actions and they should build up.

There are two keys to death by emotion: 1) Do it in a room with little/no decor to boost their mood, and 2) Make sure their needs are low (hungry, tired, dirty, etc.).

For Hysterical, those Happy moodlets from a nice environment actually help.

(What happened to my other comment? Why the Approval process? Am I on some kind of probation? Or was it posting a link?)

    Really? Okay, good to know.

if too many funny things happen at once like someone wets themselves in front of your sim, tells jokes a lot, your sim will go into hysteria. I wish they didn't die of hysteria right away.

Don't exactly know, but it's not always straight away, it sems to be random, not sure what, but Cassandra died seconds after becomign Mortified, and when I tried to get the Enraged and alter on Embarassed, it was not straight away.

This is a great tip. For weeks I couldn't get my Sim to die from embarrassment, it turns out the cheap decor was keeping her alive! As soon as I took her outside, with nothing to influence her, she snuffed it. I'm ashamed to say I was delighted

Easiest way to do it is by having the target sim drink a Happy Potion from the reward store. You might need to buy two or three Happy Potions to guarantee a Hysterical death. It lasts 3 hours so you need to drink another one before it expires.

I've made a challenge regarding the ten types of death in Sims 4: Ten Dead Sims Challenge. It's still in progress, but Hysterical is one of the easiest with the Happy Potion involved. Hardest is Electrocution.

I saw such a great chance recently for Electrocution. Had to off a hubby. He had low Handiness skill and there were two broken electronic devices. I had him fix both back-to-back. Even though his needs were all up in the green, hubby met Grimmy swiftly. Ahh it was great! Thought I would never have a death by Electro >:)

Dang, you're lucky (unlucky for your sim-hubby). When I tried to do it, I needed the Tormentor trait to sabotage the electronics. It took approximately 18 repairs on the widescreen TV to electrocute mine. And that's with a puddle on the floor!

I wonder if it helps if you boost playful with playful decoration? maybe there are some more fun activities (I only know the jungle gym or what for kids - do adults get it if they play the monster part?)
also i'm pretty sure there has to be a tea for playful as well

The collectibles from the digs - My Sims. I put them in my children's rooms to keep the areas Playful. No one can go near the rooms without catching the emotion. Gosh, now I kinda want to try offing one of the siblings with this Hysteria death. Such deviance all of you!

    Confession--

I made a sim who plays as a serial "joker", basically offing other sims with Hysteria. I call the Happy Potions "Happy Poison".

He has a room called "The Fun Room". And in this room, there's Playful paintings and expensive paintings to maintain the Happy moodlet. But the coolest part of this room is the TV and Lounge Chair, where the victim is forced to watch comedy shows. Tee. Hee. Hee.

When the game first came, way before ghosts, I was playing Johnny Zest and I threw a party so he could practice his comedy.

I had about 8-10 MY Sims Trophies on shelves in the living room with the auras turned on. I had Johnny perform some routines and cued up about 4 or 5 tell jokes about 3 times. I did not know what was actually happening at the time because the game was new but one by one the Sims started to die.

I just watched and waited to see what would happen next and 6 guests plus Johnny all killed over. Of course I exited the game without saving and learned that those Mysims trophies were lethal.

If I ever want a playful Sim 2-3 of those things turned on does the job. If you want to get a Sim hysterical and die put a whole bunch out with the auras turned on.

When Sims have to become playful on a date I just pull 2-3 out of my Sim's inventory and magically both Sims are playful.

I do the same thing to get playful kids for the jungle gym. Works like a charm. Just remember to turn them off and put them back after the goal is met.

    Playful without chemicals! lol

Don't think the throphies were the killing factor.

As far as I know I don't even think that you can get more than +1 moodlet from an emotional object, however, I think you can get up to +3 with Beautifully Decor moodlet

However, they might've increased the threshold required to become Hysterical.. It is now +15 Playful points in order to be at risk for a Hysteria.

Having my sim take a bubblebath, be in a room with that MySims thing and read a comedy book or look at comedy on TV or tell lots of jokes and BAM, my sims are hysterical. I usually take them out of that mood by having them do something else quickly or go to bed. :D I really don't like the emotional deaths.

Nothing to see. I don't even care about the forums.

I think the rare Mysims have +3 And I have seen some with +1 and +2. I think they all add together. I will have to pay closer attention the next time I go to the playground because kids can't die of hysteria.

The +3 does not add +3 moodlets, because it would be crazy if for every piece of decor you had you would just rack up points like crazy, they contribute to which "Decorated" moodlet you get, and which emotional moodlet you will get (in case there's several different types).
