Sims 4 Getaway! (Vacation EP)

I posted a similar thread in the old Ideas and Feedback but it's lost in the Ether(net), so figured I'd resurrect it here.

Some of my ideas on a Vacation themed EP.
Destination One: Mountain retreat/ski lodge

This could either be an all weather retreat (after we get Seasons) or snowy all year round.
Sims stay in cabins (small ones for a single Sim or couple, larger ones for families including bringing back bunk beds for the kids), prepare their own meals and clean up after themselves so makes it the cheapest vacation; if all weather Sims can camp in tents/campgrounds to make it even cheaper.
Non-winter options could include looking for unique collectables, bonfire parties with singing and marshmallow toasting (s'mores!), fishing, log rolling, canoeing.
Winter activities could be all the ones from Sims 3 Seasons: snowball fights, building snowmen, snowboarding, maybe even skiing or sledding.
Destination Two: Tropical Atoll

Moderate priced resort; Sims stay in either individual huts or in hotels and eat at hotel buffet; housekeeping staff takes care of cleanup while Sims out playing.
Activities include water-skiing, surfing, snorkeling, fishing (be a good spot for the elusive Tilapia), collecting seashells, ocean swimming and getting some sun.
Destination Three: Glitzy Resort

Most expensive vacation; Sims stay in hotels and eat at fancy restaurants.
Think Las Vegas -- glitz, glamor, entertainment. Sims could watch live shows, gamble (either with NPC dealers or the robot dealers like in Sims 3 Store content) and shop for items that can't be found anywhere else. Sims in the Entertainment careers could perform there to earn some extra tip money (especially if their gambling money runs out).
Not really designed for families; kids/teens would be bored (maybe an arcade where they can hang out or they can just loiter by the pool).
Sim emotions could be tied to each destination and their traits. Loves Outdoors Sims would enjoy the mountain retreat the most and hate the glitzy resort, while Snob Sims would prefer the fancy place along with Hates Children Sims. Sims could stay as long as they wanted (and their money holds out) but some Sims might be more prone to a moodlet for "homesickness" which would indicate time to wrap up the trip. School and career would pretty much go on hold, but Ambitious Sims could get a Tense moodlet for missing work/school for longer than just a few days, or maybe a random chance at a demotion/grade level drop if you stay away too long. Could also return traits like Lucky/Unlucky (Lucky Sims would not only do better in gambling of course, but would have better chance of catching rare fish in the fishing locations). No quests, no goals to fulfill or items to unlock -- just have fun!

Any thoughts?

    I really want vacations.

I could separate them even further.

Camping. Your basic camping experience. Choose your campsite. Don't forget to buy your plastic bin for washing dishes on the picnic table. Enjoy the close by hiking trails and the separation from the everyday hectic life. Go canoeing on that river and enjoy the oneness with nature.

Resort. Enjoy the amenities of having buffets and cleaning crews. Enjoy guided tours.

Cruise. It's all there. Glitz. Glamour. This is YOUR vacation. Choose your cabin and make the best use of all the amenities the ship offers. Gambling and nightlife with dancing and being invited to the captain's table for dinner. Stop and shop at the ports of call.

Find unique items in each destination.

that would be nice, getting away to a log cabin in some remote forest sounds good after finals.

I agree with everything and add cruises on luxery liners to the list.

I like this idea :) It would be cool if we could run our own resorts too!

Love the mountain resort/ski lodge idea so much! How fun would it be to see your sim skiing or tubing down a mountain? :D

Nope, its 2014 (almost 15) we can have much more than 3 destinations. I'd say one for every continent/region

I would like vacation towns, but please, I want it to be for fun, not trying to get through stupid tombs.

    I liked tombs.

The different vacation worlds should have different neighbourhoods for different types of vacation.

EG - Greek/Mediteranean Sea type world would have the neighbourhoods:
    • The Ruins - The archaeology type vacation (Ancient Greek and something like Atlantis with diving).
    • The Country - Farm/villa/vinyard getaway suitable for nectar-makers, nature-lovers, horse-riders, gardeners and organic foodies.
    • The Village - Local cafes, bakeries, niche galleries, artisan shops.
    • The City - Shopping, with local fashions for each world, theatres/ampitheatres with local entertainments, high-class restaurants, casinos or other world specific entertainment, such as the club scene.
    • The Coast - Greek coast would be beaches, water sports, beach-side bars, fishing trips, diving etc.

Lodgings would be in appropriate areas. So camping at ruins, apartments or hotels in city etc. Nothing stops you from camping by the ruins and travel to the city for the nightlife, though.

This way, even with one world, there is something for everyone. With multiple worlds you get more variety of scenery, different local build/buy/deco/plants/collectibles/fashions/souvenirs/artifacts/activities/weather/festivals.

So you might decide to go to Champs les Sims - The City, for a romantic Valentine getaway. Or you might like to go to Three Lakes - The Woods for an adventurous Survival Weekend in the autumn. Or to Three Lakes - The Peak (ski resort) for some snow in the summer.
