I think EA is behind the times! When is EA going to create a SIMS game that is Multiplayer where you can play your created character along with your friends? Also when will EA have headset capabilities so you can talk to your friends that are online while you play with them?

And you really should do a search of this on this site as this has been brought up over and over and over and over again. All it does is open up a can of worms as a lot of people don't ever want the Sims to go down this road. People would rather play the game their way and without others ruining their game by being in it.
You can either use Vent or Skype to talk to your friends. So why does EA need a special headset for when it can already be done through different chats that is available online?
THE SIMS IS NOT MEANT TO BE AN MMO TYPE OF GAME EVER.

I hope never. That would betray all that is The Sims.
This was done once and it didn't go so well .We've already seen the things people will put on these forums so the LAST thing we want is a new Sims Online .
Give people a reason to buy the console version. To be honest, how many people are going to buy the console version when they have both platforms and the PC version has more features?

IMVU is a really good option if you want a sim-similar experience with other players. The only downside is you can't walk around and stuff.
Yes
1. Servers cost $ to maintain
2. DDOS attacks can cause server crashes
3. Players can get disconnected
4. Servers can get crowded and cause problems with logging in
5. Load times may be problematic
And those are just a few of the problems
I love this game to escape other people.
I personally loved The Sims Online, and it was a great way for me to keep in touch with my mom and sister. We're all Sims fans, and loved hanging out together in our little houses.
We also tried IMVU and Second Life, and just didn't like them as much.
There *is* a market of non-perverts who would love The Sims Online 2. Plus, there are plenty of ways to avoid the weirdos. For example, make it so you can only use direct-chat with people you've approved, or people on your Origin friends-list. Everyone else would just have to communicate in Simlish and by using normal interactions or preset phrases.
Wizards 101 and Pirates 101 have that exact system, and it works really well. It makes the game safe for children.
Then they made an attempt to bring online features to Sims 3 with the Simport messaging bus. At first it was a somewhat fun addition but as people became aware that Simport is capable of way more things than just transferring Sims temporarily into other players games, the uproar began. Simmers see their game as a very private experience.
Then about the same time there was a new Simcity release with online features and that also caused just trouble (ask others for the details. I have never played it).
At the same time project Olympus started which concept was MMO but they scrapped it due to the uproar and even fired John Riccitiello (CEO at that time). They scrapped the online part, took the rest of it and called it Sims 4.
Now after all these disasters do you really think EA wants to invest a lot of money to cater a minority?
Really? You couldn't have used a phone for that ?
And don't forget we have programs like Skype now too.
and whatsapp and all kinds of things
I'm not sure if we are arguing for the same thing anymore. I don't want that lame online game called "The Sims Online". I want a similar co-op feature (would be cool if you could invite a friend online) such as Urbz (I know Urbz was split-screen though) for the console version if they decide to make one.
